Subj: Advecia
Date: 12/16/2003
I have been using advecia for a week now and have not noticed much of a difference, I'm wondering if I should try procerin instead, any comments?
Bob

AskDocWeb: You should not judge any hair loss product on the basis of what is does in a single week. Your hair grows too slowly for that. Give it from one to three months before making up your mind. If you take pictures along the way then you have objective evidence one way or the other.

Subj: Overlooked or underlooked
Date: 12/17/2003
Dr. Gordon,
Maybe I've overlooked it but I didn't see anything on the side effect on avacor. I just started using this product yesterday and I'm experiencing numbness in my left hand, kind of like the same sensation you would get when you hit your funny bone. Have you heard of anything like this or have any solutions. I'm going to discontinue using Avacor to see if this was it. One concern that I have is blood clotting. Maybe I'm over exaggerating the whole thing. I would appreciate your comments.
James

AskDocWeb: There is no Dr. Gordon here. Please read the Avacor report again. And see your doctor about that numbness in your left hand. It could be something serious.

Subj: Learned anything?
Date: 12/30/2003
I can't believe there so many stupid people in the world. People who would buy snake oil of any kind. Haven't we, as a society, learned anything in the past 200 years? If there were any sort of hair growth product, would there be a bald celebrity? I think not.
Bob

Subj: Avacor
Date: 1/2/2004
Avacor has been a godsend for me. Within 3 weeks I was re-growing hair. Even my hairdresser noticed my hair getting thicker and stronger. I would recommend trying this product because you never know....You could be one of the lucky percentage that it works for (16%). I also used to suffer terribly from an ichy scalp...(seborrheic dermatitis). Using Avacor has stopped that ich in its tracks. I am very grateful and now my husband is anxious to try the system for his hair loss.

Subj: 6 months of Avacor
Date: 1/10/2004
Hi my name is Octavio and I have used Avacor for about six months and the results were faintness, dizziness rapid heart beat, and lately I had to take time of from work because of the dizziness and I finally ended up with anxiety attacks. I ordered the product from a commercial that i saw on TV. I purchased product for 9-months it doesn't work and no money back is returned they come up with all kind of excuses. I lost about $900.00 in the useless product, plus time of from work sick. Any feedback would be helpful.
Octavio

Subj: Tried Avacor
Date: 1/21/2004
Avacor is the worst product my husband and son have ever used. It did not work at all, and this company won't even refund my money back. This is horrible.

Subj: 2 Years of Avacor
Date: 1/26/2004
I have taken Avacor for 2 years, although I have not followed the program to its full extent, I have noticed that my hair becomes very dry when I use the shampoo, however, the supplement did appear to strengthen my hair folicle, and weaken it if when not used after two weeks, I have never experienced a regrowth of hair, but believed that was because I did not follow the program continuously. After reading your feedback on 1/26/04 I am certainly hesitant to continue with Avacor. Sincerely,
Terry

AskDocWeb: We are currently doing a study of a new hair loss product called Procerin and so far it looks very encouraging.

Subj: 5 months
Date: 1/27/2004
I have been using propecia for the last 5 months. I have noticed a regrowth in the first three month but when I started to use penis enlargement pills, I start to notice my hair is getting thinner. Could it be the reason for this change?
Sultan

AskDocWeb: You are the first to mention this possability. I'm sure many people would be interested to hear more about this. Please let us know how you handle this and what happens.

Subj: Pretty expensive
Date: 1/29/2004
I used the Avacor system for six months, and have noticed hair regrowth. It's been noticed by several people I work with, too, although I did not disclose to anyone I was using a hair regrowth product. Avacor is pretty expensive, though, and having read your research, I'll probably switch to Rogaine. Thanks.
Mike

Subj: Used Avacor for three months
Date: 1/29/2004
I start using avacor for three months and I've lost more hair in this period more than ever. I have three friends who used it at the same time and they had the same problem. When I investigated the inventor turn to be a professional in scam and served in jail for it and he is not licensed any more, if that can happen in the most civilized country in the world! God help us.

Subj: Thank you
Date: 2/1/2004
Thank you for saving me a lot of money. If it is too good to be real, it must be not real. Moral--= Save your money!

Subj: I tried Avacor
Date: 2/11/2004
I tried Avacor and found it had done nothing to slow my hair loss or re-grow any new hair. I would strongly discourage anyone from purchasing this product. It is a complete waste of money in my opinion.
Dennis

Subj: Hopeful new user
Date: 2/20/2004
Something that I thought might help me in my quest for some cover but it looks like there is no one out there that cares to share something good about this product. Guess its more fun to put it down -- sorry, but I'll go on using Avacor and hope for the best!
Hopeful new user

Subj: Interested in avacor
On 2/24/2004
I've read about many products and am interested in avacor. I am 53 years old and am losing hair on the crown of my head for the last 10 years. The front portion of my head still has hair and getting thin as the year past. According to an article I read, Avacor will help the younger men. Is this true? If I take Avacor, will it help me grow hair and stop the loss. What is the timeline I can expect to see results?
Ernest

AskDocWeb: In our opinion, Avacor is a waste of money. Please read our report on Avacor and the feedback from others who have tried it and tried to get a refund.

Subj: Not help for nothing
Date: 2/27/2004
I write to inform you people interested in buying Avacor that Avacor didn't not help for nothing to me. I feel extremely disappointed with the side effects that haunt me to this day. I am even more bald...thanks to Avacor.
Marco

Subj: Be-Ware!
Date: 3/4/2004
I used Avacor, purchased it for 240 plus 30$ shipping. When I called within the 90 day trial period to return the item since I had not seen any results, they used their sales approach to encourage me to keep it and gave me the opportunity to try another 3 months supply at no cost. I was skepticle but did not want to feel that I did not try enough to regrow my hair so I let them send me the second set of three month supply. They told me that if i opt for the free three month supply they will not honor any returns and the garauntee is no longer valid. It has been 6 months I dont see any results and I feel they still made a profit from the $30 shipping and handeling and 239$ that I originally spent. This is a great SCAM!!! They hired some race car driver to do their ads and marketing. And some phonie doctor to do make the product look credible.!!! Be-Ware!!!

Subj: Bad breath
Date: 3/9/2004
I've used avacor for over a year. For the amount of time I spent using this product, I did not gain any significant results. Other then that it reduced the itching on my scalp. I did grow a few hairs (if you could call them that), but as I now know were probably the results from the minoxodil. The pills gave me bad breath and the shampoo, although good, turns to jello in less than room temperature. I no longer use the product. Thanks for the informative report.
Mark

Subj: 7 months - Jerry
Date: 3/24/2004
I have used avacor for 7 months and I have not experienced any hair regrowth. I have however experienced a dry and itchy scalp and heartburn. Do you know if there are any people out there that have regrown any hair.
Jerry

AskDocWeb: Yes, people have regrown some hair with Propecia (prescription drug), and Procerin (supplement). If you find something else that works, tell us and we will add it to our hair loss solutions page.

Subj: Procerin with Avacor?
Date: 4/1/2004
Can I use Procerine and Avacor together? I used Avacor in the past and people noticed that my hear was thickening. I thought the product worked for me to a certain extent. I saw all different views about avacor, now I am getting confused. Please help.
Said

AskDocWeb: In our opinion Avacor is a waste of money for most people. But if it works for you, use it. We can see no problem using it with Procerin.

Subj: Tried it
Date: 4/3/2004
I tried it. It did not regrow hair, but did seem to stop the hair loss (at least temporarily.)
Rick

Subj: After 3 years
Date: 4/13/2004
Gentlemen: I've used Avacor for about 3 years and used it to replace Propecia, which requires a prescription and lowers one's testosterone. All I can tell you about Avacor is that my hair doesn't seem to be falling out, the way it was before I tried doing anything about my hair loss. I still don't know if anything made today will grow hair back, but since I found out Avacor's main ingredient is mixoxidyl, I think I'll save myself a bunch of money and just buy the latter.
Doug

Subj: prostate?
Date: 4/14/2004
Are any of the ingredients in Avacor related to prostate?
Megan

AskDocWeb: None that we know about. We no longer keep track of their changes in formula.

Subj: Surprised
Date: 5/3/2004
I was surprised to read so much negative info regarding the use of avacor. I have used avacor for about a year with favorable results, for thinning hair on the front of my scalp. Friends who did not know i was using product also noticed a change. I never had any burning scalp or rash develop. I did have an increase in all body hair, however. Whether this is due to my age (46) or coincidental, I don't know. But my chest hair, back hair and leg hair definately went crazy while using the product. I did not apply the fluid to these parts! At one point i thought it might be affecting my sex drive but realized it was psychological in origin. I also went through some chronic fatigue for about 4 months, but the jury is still out on that. I have to say the lack of info regarding the possible side effects of some of the ingredients does concern me. I am going to try Hair Genisis and see what happens. Thanks,
Mark

Subj: 2 years later
Date: 5/3/2004
I used the product Avacor more then 2 years ago, I bought a 1 year supply so I could hopefully see the full effects of the product. I used all the pills and have some of the topical solution left, and even more of the shampoo left. During use of the product I could have sworn I lost more hair, but that is to be expected seeing how that is the essence of hair loss. Needless to say I was not happy with the results of the product, and 2 years later I am still losing hair and still looking for a cure. Help.
Robert

AskDocWeb: There are some things that may help, but right now, there is no cure. Currently, everything on the market has to be taken continuously to maintain results. Propecia is a prescription drug for hair loss but it is expensive and has some side effects. We are conducting a study of Procerin to find out how well it works.

Subj: blunder
Date: 5/8/2004
I used Avacor for 12 months. The shampoo is like a conditioner... giving the appearance that you have more hair. However, within a few months I realized that I had no hair re-growth. I started to experience heart-burn on a daily basis. My sex drive decreased during the time I used Avacor... returned after I stopped using the product. Also, my entire back became hairy, as well as my arms. After I stopped using the product, I lost a great deal of hair. Using this product was a blunder!
Aamir

Subj: Referral?
Date: 5/10/2004
Do you know any Avacor user who you would referred me to? I want to know if it is true that this product is guarantee and if this really works. Thanks
JULIO

AskDocWeb: Sorry Julio, we DO NOT recommend them. Save your money for something else.
