Tamezapam or Nitrzapam?
Hi AskDocWeb, would u happen to know if Tamezapam or Nitrzapam will fail me on a work related urine drug test that will screen for all bad drugs...?? And if so how long will it take to get out of my system? i use them to help me sleep as prescribed by my doctor.. This is a great site for mining pesonel and work relations.. much appreciated n Thanks
AskDocWeb: Our database now has more than 700 entries for possible causes of a false positive but neither of your meds are listed. It looks like that's one less thing to keep you awake.
Been on Mirtazipine for 2 weeks, ended up in ER last night with severe anxiety/suicidal thoughts...my urine screen tested positive for Meth which i have NEVER done! When you test false positive for something, and are so depressed on top of it, it is almost enough to push you over the edge. I see my GP this afternoon, i will never take this again.
How did this happen?
I just took a drug test and failed i only take amoxicaiin and gravol and tyloanl but not ones how did this happen?
AskDocWeb: First you need to know that the EMIT urine tests are not perfect. They have error rate, which means that these test sometimes misidentify drugs (and sometime miss what is there). A certain percentage of test results will show positive for drugs that are not in your system. These are called false positives or non-negative results. If you suspect that your test result is not accurate then additional testing should be done to confirm the results, preferably at an independent certified laboratory.
A confirmation test must be performed on the same sample that failed the initial drug screen. Typically a GC/MS test is used as that is the "gold standard" for doing confirmation tests. GC/MS stands for Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry. In this test a portion of the sample is vaporized and a spectroscopic analysis is done on the components of that gas. The spectrum of the substances present is somewhat like fingerprints for each substance. Each substance has a unique color spectrum and mass. The results of the GC/MS test specifically list exactly what is found in the sample.
Prilosec clearance time
I'm a nurse and about to change jobs this means another urinalysis. So, I purchased a home test to make sure I wouldn't test positive for marijuana because I've been on Provide for about a month+. Sure enough I failed now I'm taking aleocure and have been off Prilosec for 2 days. When will it be out of my system so, I can pass my urinalysis? THANKS
AskDocWeb: The half-life of Prilosec ranges from 0.5 to 1.0 hour and is typically cleared from the body within 10 hours. Prilosec is metabolized mainly (80%) in the liver so any decrease in liver function could extend the clearance time.
AloeCure is a drinkable aloe vera supplement that claims to ease heartburn, acid reflux, ulcers, and irritable bowel syndrome.
Positive for hydrocodone?
My seventeen year old son is taking a small dose of prozac and a small dose of imipramin. He has come back positive for hydrocodone after a drug test. My son does not do drugs ever!!! He only takes what I give him, which is his prescription medicine. He does not hang out with anyone who does drugs. He hates having to take what he is on now. Could he have gotten a false positive from something he ate? I am stumped, as is he...he is being accused of doing something that he does not do.
AskDocWeb: Prozac has shown up as a false positive for amphetamines and LSD (References: 31 and 47) but not for hydrocodone. Imipramine is a tricyclic antidepressant of the dibenzazepine group and would not show up as hydrocodone. As far as we know, the only defense is to get a confirmation test, which would come back negative if his test result is a false positive.
I took 3x epidural injection the last one was Thursday and I took a drug test Wednesday. Do you think it will fail my urine test?
AskDocWeb: As long as you told them about getting the epidural injection it shouldn't cause a problem.
I was taking Ranitidine for my acid reflux. I've never taken any type of drugs in my life. I tested positive for Methamphetamines on a urine test. Thanks to your information about Ranitidine may cause false positive readings for amphedamines & a positive reading for methemphetamines, I may very well be cleared of any wrong doing. Thank you, "AskDocWeb.com".
AskDocWeb: You are welcome Eric. Stay healthy.
I tested positive for amphetimines I take aldomet 500mg BID and prenatal vitamins. Can aldomet cause that?
AskDocWeb: There are antidotal reports of Aldomet sometimes showing up as a false positive for amphetamines but so far there is no documentation to back that up. Aldomet (Methyldopa) does have many features similar in structure to an amphetamine. It appears to be similar enough that a screening assay might pick it up as a false positive for amphetamine. If you are able to get a GC/MS confirmation test that would come back negative if you had a false positive.
I've been on tramdol, 50-150mg a day for about 4 months. I ran out last week and have taken 5 mg of methadone for the last 6 days. I recently found out I was pregnant and do not want to be on ANYTHING! But I've read online that methadone withdrawls can cause a miscarriage. Will there be enough built up in my system to cause withdrawls???
AskDocWeb: In order to determine that you need to consult with a doctor to evaluate your situation. It depends on how much you were taking, how long you have been using it, etc.
Wondering about testing dirty
Hello I have been takin risperidone, sertraline and diphenhydramine for my problems that I have going on with myself. Also I take PTU for my thyroids. I was wondering do any of these pills make you test dirty for crystal meth. Thank you.
AskDocWeb: Diphenhydramine (Benadryl) may test false positives for benzodiazepines, PCP, or tricyclic antidepressants (Reference: 45 but not for crystal meth. Likewise Sertraline may test false positives for benzodiazepines or LSD (Reference: 44, 47, and 57) but not for crystal meth. Risperidone has only shown up false positive for LSD (Reference: 47).
No Oxycontin in test results
I have been on a pain management program for the last 2 years for my back. I take Oxycontin 15mg 3 times a day but when I was tested it came back negative no Oxycontin, I was on a lot health powders and pills from a natural healer could these herbal powders give me a report back stating I was not taking my Oxycontin? Because I was taking it and the doctor said it did not show up in my test and I don't understand know I've got the start of some very nasty withdrawal starting. Can you help me?
AskDocWeb: Herbal powders and pills are not known to mask the presence of Oxycontin on urine drug screens. The next time a test is scheduled you may want to go to your physician and ask for blood to be drawn or some other alternative testing method to show that you are following the rules. However, that will not help you now if they have already cut off your meds. Others who have faced this situation successfully are encouraged to share their experience.
