Hair Loss FeedbackIf you have hair loss, please help others by adding your feedback. What would you tell someone about your hair loss product? Please remember that we do not give medical advice. That is for your local health care provider, who is familiar with your medical history.Subj: Loosing lots of hair Date: 7/10/2009 I'm a 43 year women with a hair loss in my family. I'm currently experiencing a great loss of hair and very itchy scalp. I've tried all types of shampoo, but still am loosing lots of hair. Should I go see a Dermatologist or try minoxdil solution 2%? Dav AskDocWeb: We would consult with a dermatologist rather than trying one thing after another. That way you can address the root cause instead of just treating the symptom. Subj: These are all great together Date: 7/18/2009 I have tried lots of things for female AGA. I was diagnosed four years ago by a dematologist. I have used aldactone 50mg a day- which I don't like due to side effects I also use minoxidol 5% twice a day I have seen a trichologist to get advice and have used laser therapy and minox made by him. I recently started taking regeneplex and provilus combined as the ingrediants have DHT blockers- I could'nt find a product that had both Saw palmetto, green tea, evening primrose, biotin, niacin and B6 as these are all great together- I also take zinc, iron, black strap malasis - for ferritin increase and vit C. It's a lot but since starting it my sheds have decreased to a manageable rate. I also use Nizoral once a week as it has DHT blocker and has effect of 2% minox. Is there a product on the market which has all ingredients listed in it rather than me taking 100 things each day? I would rather take vitamins than drugs e.g. aldactone but don't want to risk stopping as so much self esteem is in hair for women. Any help would be appreciated. So much money is wasted on hair loss! Cheers, Clairen AskDocWeb: Sorry Clairen, we have not seen a hair loss product that has all of those ingredients in it. But that does bring up another thought, sometimes new businesses are started by people who can't find what they want. If your combination of ingredients are truly effective then it would be a product in high demand. Just something to think about... Subj: Sephren Date: 7/23/2009 Please let me know about Sephren. This product is for treating hair loss in women. This product is suggested in the Procerin website. I want to know if anyones used it and if it has made a positive difference. Please advice. Sushma AskDocWeb: If readers have used Sephren please share your results. If it works we will add it to the list. Subj: Follinex Date: 7/25/2009 Follinex has not worked for me. I have taken 6 bottles and I have not seen any growth. My hair is thin and it is still thin. I plan to contact the company for a refund. Mae Subj: Nioxin shampoo, synerghair, finasteride Date: 7/27/2009 I am using Minoxodil twice daily and taking synerghair 1 tablet twice weekly and I am just starting with Nioxin shampoo, conditioner and the scalp treatment which I would have to do once a day can you tell me anything about these products and can I use them altogether and is synerghair better or worse than finasteride? I am a female in my fifties with thinning hair. Elaine AskDocWeb: Vary little is known abut Synerghair because they just showed up in March 2009. Since they don't disclose the ingredients, you have no way of knowing if you are allergic to anything in their product. That does not inspire confidence. As for a permanent cure for hair loss, a lot of scams make that claim. Subj: Losing a lot of hair Date: 8/8/2009 I'm 22 and I've been using minoxidil 5% for 10 months now. When I completed 6 months, I went to my dermatologist, who tried to pull some of my hair out to see how much would fall. The result was absolute zero. A month later, I started losing a lot of hair. The loss has diminished over time, but it still occurs in steady amounts. Is this a sign that Minoxidil is doing nothing for me? Being out of the country since my last consult has prevented me from seeing my dermatologist. Should I make a new appointment to get a re-check? John AskDocWeb: It does sound like the Minoxidil has stopped working. Getting a re-check certainly won't hurt anything and maybe your dermatologist will have a helpful suggestion or two. What shampoo do you use? Subj: Minovol Date: 8/10/2009 Hi I have used Minovol before and it really grew my hair. Then I stopped using it and I noticed my hair was breaking but this happened three years ago so I can't rememeber if it was around the time I stopped using the Minovol. Well now my edges are almost gone, and my beautician recommended me to use it again to grow my hair back, but someone told me that once you stop Minovol your hair comes out. Is this true? Tash AskDocWeb: If it was preventing your hair from falling out then you have to continue using it in order to keep that benefit. Subj: Profollica Date: 8/23/2009 I was thinking of maybe trying profollica for my hairloss. Do you have any good/bad feedback about this product? Peter AskDocWeb: There is a short article on ProFollica here. If you try it be sure to post your comments about the effectiveness of this product. Subj: Hair loss due to age? Date: 9/23/2009 Will this help hair loss due to age? I had very thick hair when young but started losing hair in my late sixties. My mother had the same type of hair - thick when young but very thin when she got older. Sissy AskDocWeb: Sorry Sissy, you will have to tell us which hair loss product you are referring to before we can comment. Subj: Saw palmetto? Date: 9/25/2009 Hi there, I have been taking a medication called saw palmetto which I use for hairloss which I got from a hairloss company. My question is how come when I by it from the chemist it does not have the same effect as the one that I receive from hair loss comp i.e. makes me feel horny. Please help me much appreciated. Joseph AskDocWeb: It is likely that the product you receive from the hair loss company has other ingredients in it besides the saw palmetto. Many libido boosters such as VigRX Plus contain saw palmetto. Subj: The number one hair loss product? Date: 10/4/2009 Hi, what have you found to be the number one hair loss product from your reviewers? I am looking at propecia, procerin, provillus etc... Please let me know. John AskDocWeb: Of those three, Propecia is probably the most expensive. It is a prescription drug and you need a doctor's visit to get that. We still have concerns about the sexual side effects of Propecia. There is a considerable amount of positive feedback about Procerin but it has been on the market longer than Provillus. An increasing number of men say when they looked at both Provillus and Procerin, Provillus looks like a better deal. Whatever you decide on, get a 6-month supply. However much we would all like an instant solution, hair just doesn't grow very fast. You have to be patient and give it time to work. Subj: Thymuskin? Date: 10/11/2009 I was wondering if any knows about Thymuskin? It suppose to help with thinning hair when you shampoo and I have been using it for a week with no really changes other then my hair is getting dry. What can I use to stop hair loss? Liz AskDocWeb: There are a couple of pages of feedback on Thymuskin here. Hair Loss - 13 - 14 - 15 - 16 - 17 - 18 - 19 - 20 - 21 - Last Page 22 Other hair loss products.
