Subj: Regenepure DR.
Date: 4/19/2010
There is a very high end sulfate free shampoo on the market now with Ketoconazole called Regenepure DR. Any experience with this product?

AskDocWeb: Not yet but anyone using Regenepure DR. is encouraged to share their results.

Subj: Prevent ingrown hairs
Date: 4/26/2010
How can I prevent ingrown hairs on my face after tweezing?

AskDocWeb: The main methods for preventing ingrown hairs have to do with making it easier for the hair to grow through your skin. Proper cleansing, exfoliating, and moisturizing makes the skin softer and easier for hair to penetrate. Exfoliation every few days will help to remove any dead skin cells, dirt, and oils that might trap the hair. It can also physically nudge the end of an ingrown hair out of your skin. There are also topical lotions that contains salicyclic acid that may be used daily to prevent any further ingrown hairs from developing.

Subj: Shedding and balding?
Date: 5/5/2010
Do some hairloss products on this site actually cause more shedding and balding?

AskDocWeb: An initial period of shedding has been reported by a small percentage of users of each of the products listed here for hair loss. This seems to be possible with any hair loss product.

Subj: Information about my hair condition
Date: 5/9/2010
Dear sir I would like to get information about my hair condition. I am 32 year old now I am bold, so how can my hair it back its origional position. Thanks your advice and I want to get medical treatment.

AskDocWeb: In most cases it is not possible to return the hair to its original growth position unless you resort to a hair transplant. For information about your hair condition you would need to consult a dermatologist. They are the specialist when it comes to hair loss.

Subj: Patchy hair loss
Date: 6/13/2010
If I have patchy hair loss then I cannot use Provillus. What do you think I should use? I am female and have alopecia and I am on Finasteride at the moment. I have read not to use any shampoo with sulfate and ammonia in it and I noticed that Nisim has that??

AskDocWeb: Please read the Caution - Warning about Propecia concerning the possibility of birth defects if used by women. We think that patchy hair loss should be evaluated by a dermatologist to determine the best treatment.

Subj: Frontal Fibrosing Alopecia
Date: 6/19/2010
The Daily Mail Health section (20.06.2009) published an article about a 73 year old female who had Frontal Fibrosing Alopecia. I now have an identical hair loss pattern. Can anything be done to halt this and/or get regrowth please? I am otherwise in very good health and still very concerned about my appearance. Thank you

AskDocWeb: Frontal fibrosing alopecia has only recently been defined and is very uncommon. It usually affects post-menopausal women over the age of 40 and is characterized by hair loss on the front and sides of the scalp. Currently there is no effective treatment available although there are reports that a short course of oral steroids or antimalarial tablets may benefit patients who have a rapid onset of hair loss.

Subj: ShenMin

Subj: Tremendous hair loss
Date: 7/4/2010
Hey, I have a friend who is having tremendous amount of hair loss daily. She is 20yrs old. This is very serious becuz its more than normal. She is also taking medicines for thyroid and till date her thyroid count has been normal. What could be the possible reasons and solutions?

AskDocWeb: Thyroid problems often result in hair loss. Once she gets the thyroid levels back where they should be it is likely that her hair loss problem will be under control.

Subj: Hair loss due to injury
Date: 7/10/2010
Hi I'm 38yrs old and about 6 months ago I hit my head on a cabinet at work which left a small cut. I'm a nurse and I cleaned it and cared for it without seeing a doctor. The area has healed completed but it took some time due to once a week hair washing routine. As a result I now have hair missing in the area the size of 2 quarters. I am massaging my scalp and have fine hair back in the area but would like to try something to assist with growing the hair back quicker. The area is located in the top front near my hairline and I've had to grow my bang longer to hide the area. I welcome any assistance and advice. Please help. I think my next action will be to visit a hair specialist for hair implants in this area. This really limits how I can wear my hair and makes me self conscious when outside and the wind is blowing. Please Help. Respectfully,

AskDocWeb: When the hair loss is due to a scalp injury it is likely that the hair follicles have been damaged. You may want to explore the possibility of implants.

Subj: Folicia and hairmax solution with Xytraglo tablets
Date: 7/13/2010
I am 23 years old and I am loosing my hair for last 2 and 1/2 yrs. I am using Folicia and hairmax solution with Xytraglo tablets for almost 3 months but I think its not working for me. Can u please tell me if this treatment is ok or should I switch to procerin.

AskDocWeb: The laser comb has produced minor improvements but, in our opinion it is not worth the money. We have no information on the Xytraglo tablets other than that they come from China.

Subj: Hair loss due to laser treatment
Date: 7/14/2010
I have been suffering from hair loss for about three years. What triggered it was by a beauty treatment called laser which reduces facial hair. I found it very painful and it made me jump and it sure was a shock to the system. I carried on for a year then realised my loss of hair was due to the laser treatment. My parents are in their 60s and still have hair on their head so my hair loss is not genetic. Minoxidil just made things worse for me after I stopped using it. I use to have thick long hair down to my waist and I've had to cut it to my shoulders and is now thin. I'm still suffering from hair loss because I am depressed. I'm 27 years old female

AskDocWeb: The ones we looked at cost several hundred dollars. Maybe a reader will suggest a good source.

Date: 10/10/2010
I am using Mintop 10% and Biotin tablets since 15 days. Can you suggest which shampoo can I use with these combination?

AskDocWeb: The best one we have found is Nisim New Hair Biofactors.

Subj: Nu Hair?
Date: 11/14/2010
Hi Have you heard of the the product Nu Hair ? I think its a supplement , do it really works ?
27old Guy

AskDocWeb: Nu Hair seems to be an import from China. They say you can treat menopause and hair loss at the same time. It looks like they have opened a business in Chicago, Illinois to sell Chinese herbal medicine but so far there is no feedback from anyone who has used their product. By the way, has anyone tried acupuncture for hair loss?
