Stopping and starting again
Dear Sir, For the last few years am suffering from hair loss. Before 6 months i went for a doctor advice and he given me some tablets for preventing hair fall. The nae of the tablets are bitozed and fentasteride. While am taking this tablet regularly, i got some relaxation from this hair falling. After that i stoped taking medicine for last 2 months. And agin my hairs went off. Then i started taking my medicine regularly. I would like to know if there is any adverse effect in taking the tablet again after stopping once and i like to know, is it effective to my hair to grow. Kind Regards,
AskDocWeb: Aside from the temporary increase in hair loss, no adverse effects have been reported from those who stop and then start again. However, finasteride is known to sometime produce its own side effects. It appears to work better to help you keep what hair you have rather than grow new hair but it does work well for many men.
Which one gives better results?
Which one will give better result on hair loss 1-Minoxidil and aminexil topical solution Or 2- Minoxidil +tretinoin+ azelaic acid topical solution
AskDocWeb: That may depend on the body chemistry of the user. To our knowledge there are no clinical trials that have compared those two treatments.
Hi sir, I am using mintop 2% nearly 2 years now a day i have continue headache... kindly tell the remedial sir...
AskDocWeb: About 6% of those using products containing topical minoxidil experience headaches. However, headaches also have other causes so check with your doctor for a remedy.
Hi, if you apply Minoxidil to your scalp would this then be tested positive in your urine?
AskDocWeb: If the urine test was designed to look for minoxidil then yes. If it was designed to look for drugs abuse then no. We have compiled an extensive list of substances that might cause problems on urine drug tests here.
I want your view regarding use of folligro spray.
AskDocWeb: We haven't taken a close look at that one yet. If anyone has used it let us know what you think.

I am quite fed up!
Hi I am a 25year female. I have been facing hair loss issue since 8-9 years and it is growing with age. According to my dermatologist's reports its because of hormonal problem, also i am havinv poly cystic ovary syndrome which could be one of the major reasons.. My major hair loss is on the crown area of the head. And i have used minoxidil and other products on and off for years. Have taken steroids injections on recommendation of dermatologist also. But somehow they just worked for limited time only. Also my medicines contained contraceptives which is considered to be harmful for me and can cause infertility.
Meanwhile i was facing major weight gain and swelling on my face and neck. As you can figure out i am quite fed up with the use of the supplements i have been taking. Can you suggest me any better product/medication which can better my hair condition with no such side effects. I will be thankful to you. Waiting for your response. Thanx
AskDocWeb: Unfortunately the product you are looking for does not yet exist. Medical research has produced several that are promising but none are free of possible side effects.
Bosley hair products
My hair loss didn't occur until menopause. Do you know if the Bosley hair products are affective at all? Also, I live in the pool & wonder if I should be using hair products that are for color-treated hair?
AskDocWeb: Since we don't know what specific products Bosley promotes we can't comment on that. If you get your hair professionally done can cost quite a bit of money so it makes sense to protect your investment. Rinsing out your hair with club soda immediately after swimming is more effective in removing chlorine than rinsing hair with tap water. There are also several clarifying shampoos that get rid of deposited chlorine. The good ones seem to all have essential oils, botanical extracts, and vinegar. They claim to clean your hair and remove any residue, while also softening and strengthening it.
