Hair loss problem
Hi I'm 22 yrs old boy I have to hair loss problem on my top of head from last one year and also hairfall problem. I'm taking homeopathy medicine from last one week. Can I use minoxidil is it effective to me or no plz tell me.
AskDocWeb: If you don't know what is causing your hair fall problem then you may want to get a complete medical examination. There are medical ailments that can cause hair to fall out, such as thyroid disorder, that need to be determined before a treatment is chosen.
Hi..im using minoxidil & aminexil topical solution gainehair from last 2 weeks..im very tensed because my hair are constantly falling n not stopping..im suffering from hair losing problem n my doc has suggest me to try this..im applying it in every morning..will i get the result..??
AskDocWeb: You need to know that not everyone gets the same results from the same treatment. In other words, it works for some but not everyone. A cure for hair loss will not be discovered until medical science better understands what effects why hair falls out. Until then we can only hope for the best.
Protect my hair
Sir my age was 20 years my hair density gradually decreases in front...pls pls suggest how can I protect my hair.
AskDocWeb: Here are some of the ways that others are using to protect their hair:
Hi im kind of losing my hair last 3 months and i lost alot and its become a little spaces in my hair and i dont want that so i decided to use minoxidil but i dont know. So, which one should i get cause i think there are 2%, 5% and maybe there more. LAST QUESTION how many time should i use in a day and for how long?
AskDocWeb: In the USA 2% topical minoxidil is approved for women. Higher percentages are known to cause the growth of unwanted body hair, including facial hair in women. The 5% formula of minoxidil is approved for men, for whom facial and body hair is not as much of a concern. In other countries stronger formulas are available but are not recommended as they are considered experimental and possible side effects are not well documented.
The product data sheet for topical minoxidil says to apply it twice a day. Note that this is a "treatment" and not a "cure" because it has to be used continuously for as long as you want the benefits. For some people that means year after year.

I am 26 years old, i am using coverit for nearly 1 year, first 6 months i got good result. after that i am intermittently but now the problem still arising. is it suggestible to use year round? the doctor had prescribed it for two times
AskDocWeb: Not sure where you got the idea that you couldn't use it year around but that is not the case. Using it intermittently will of course reduce the effectiveness so it's not surprising that the problem is arising again.

Questions about Minokem 5
I am a 30 yr old female and i want to use the product minokem 5 as suggested by my doctor. I just want to enquire whether it can cause facial hairs to occur and if such a thing appears then if i stop it can there be any problems. Also if some hairs do appear will they go off if i stop using the product?
AskDocWeb: Minokem 5 contains 5% minoxidil, which has been reported to sometimes cause the growth of unwanted hair, both on the face and the body of those women who have used it. Such hair may persist for several months after discontinuing the product but it has been reported to go away.
Hello. Is it beneficial to use minoxin 5% on shaving head??
AskDocWeb: No. Using any form of minoxidil on shaved skin is not recommended. There is a high chance that too much would be absorbed through the skin and that could result in unwanted side effects.
Colour my hair?
I am 21yrs old. I am using mintop10. There are some part of hair is white. I want to black. Can I apply hair colour on my hair??
AskDocWeb: According to the Mayo Clinic, "Hair coloring, hair permanents, and hair relaxers may be used during minoxidil therapy as long as the scalp is washed just before applying the hair coloring, permanent, or relaxer. Minoxidil should not be used 24 hours before and after the hair treatment procedure. Be sure to not double your doses of minoxidil to make up for any missed doses." (source)
