AskDocWeb: Mx5 is one of the brand name minoxidil products. MX5 appears to be the low alcohol formula minoxidil. You can read about the possible side effect here.

Facial hair growth
Date: 5/10/2016
Hi I am 30 year old female and I am using this product since 2 weeks and I can see great results and hair fall is reduced 95 percent. I have also noticed facial hair growth on my cheeks. My doctor suggested me to use once a week but using mintop once a week is showing no results and there is lots of hair fall.

AskDocWeb: We suggest getting a complete medical checkup in an attempt to discover the cause of your hair loss. If that doesn't reveal the cause then consult with a dermatologist.

25 year old
Date: 5/11/2016
I am 25 years old. I am suffering from dry scalp and hair fall. Can I use this minoxidil product or not?
Hemanth

AskDocWeb: Just because you can do something doesn't mean that it is a good idea. If your hair loss is caused by a poor diet (without needed vitamins) then minoxidil will not solve that issue. Likewise if your thyroid is not working right minoxidil will not help. Getting a complete medical examination may reveal the cause of the problem for which an appropriate treatment can then be prescribed.

Reason for hairfall
Date: 5/13/2016
Hi.. Im Preethi...Im 24yrs old... I have hairfall frm last 6 months and i even checked with my doctor. As i had vitamin d deficiency he suggested me with vitamin tablets and minscalp 5% .. Im using it for past 3 months n i dont see any difference in my hairfall.. And my hair becomes very dry after using minscalp. My hairfall is less when i dont apply it.. My vitamin d is also fine now. What will be the actual reason for my hairfall?
Preethi

AskDocWeb: We could speculate but that would only be a guess. One of the problems with dealing with hair loss is that it can have multiple causes working at the same time. Sometimes a specialist is needed and for hair loss that would be a dermatologist.

Every other day?
Date: 5/17/2016
I want to start using rogaine but can I use 5% instead of 2% and not put daily..as I use liquid type and it feels oily. I bath every other day so I can use it 4 hours before bathing.please advice
FHK

AskDocWeb: Increasing the dosage and reducing applications to one-fourth of what the manufacturer recommends is not likely to produce the results you want. For best results follow the directions that come with the product.

Coviert?
Date: 5/17/2016

Gourav

AskDocWeb: Sorry Gourav, we have no information about a product called Coviert.

AskDocWeb: Since the active ingredient in Mintop is minoxidil we look to the manufacturer of minoxidil for recommendations. They recommend the 2% solution for women and 5% for men.

Date: 5/25/2016
I'm using mintop10 and finix tablet by Dr Reddy using last 5 months and I am not getting good result and along this product can I use mustered oil and any type of shampoo I want to know I thing also which docter knows about your products in south Delhi
Devesh

AskDocWeb: Sorry to hear that you aren't getting good results. At some point you just have to accept the fact that it doesn't work for everyone and one of those might be you. For us that point would come at 6 months.

We don't have any physical products, only this website which publishes consumer comments and health information.

Many types of oil have been used to treat hair loss but only a few of them have proven useful. In 1998 researchers at the Department of Dermatology, Aberdeen (United Kingdom) conducted a 7 month study proving essential oils could successfully treat alopecia areata. The essential oils used in the trials were Rosemary, Thyme, Sweet Basil, and Lavender.

After minoxidil
Date: 5/27/2016
I am 24 year male, I think isomnia and family history is cause of my hair loss, I want to use minoxidil (trugain 5%). But you wrote "Minoxidil has a short half-life". Should I continue using minoxidil after hair regrowth or can stop after regrowth?
Sohag

AskDocWeb: Everything we have read on this subject says that the new hair that minoxidil caused to grow will fall out within a few months after discontinuing use.
