Permanent cure for hair loss?
I am 20years old male. Since 2years i have hair fall problem. I consulted several doctors they said its male pattern baldness. I am now using roots m5 for 3months. The results are not bad but when i quit medication hair fall begans again slowly is there any other way to cure it permanently.
AskDocWeb: As you have discovered the treatments for hair loss work only as long as you continue to use them. That is the difference between a treatment and a cure. So far the only permanent cure for hair loss is to have hair transplanted on the scalp.
18 year old
I am a person with age of 18. I am using tugain solution for past 10. I wanna know the details that can I shave my scalp now?
AskDocWeb: Have you used it for 10 days, 10 weeks, 10 months or what? Since the active ingredient in Tugain solution is minoxidil you may want to check the side effects listed here.
Will minoxidil effect blood pressure?
i am using minoxidil 10% past 3 months. It's showing some improvements.i feel little dizzy when i use it.. i have problem of high blood pressure..will this increase my Bp??
AskDocWeb: Minoxidil was originally developed as a treatment to lower blood pressure. If too much is absorbed through the skin it may lower blood pressure to the point where it could cause dizziness. Anyone taking blood pressure medication would be wise to consult with their doctor before using minoxidil to treat hair loss.
I have been using minoxidil 5% for 3 weeks now and have just had red spots on my temple area of the scalp and ears - i dont know what to do. Should i continue or stop using the prodct?
AskDocWeb: Irritation of the scalp is one of the most common side effects of minoxidil. It is important to apply the minoxidil only to those areas where hair growth is desired. If you didn't get any on your ears or temple then the red spots could have another cause so you may want to have them evaluated by your doctor or dermatologist.
AskDocWeb: Manexil Gel is a brand name of minoxidil, manufactured by Fem Care Pharma ltd.

Hi, i am 28years old girl my doctor suggest me to use mintop 5% for my hair loss but i read that mintop 5% is for man so i am confused should i use 5% or not ???
AskDocWeb: In the USA the Food and Drug Administration has approved the 5% solution of minoxidil only for men because it has resulted in unwanted hair growth when used by women. We always recommend following your doctor's advice but you should also be aware of the possible side effects.
Procerin or Provillus
Dear AskDocWeb I would like to ask your advice on the two products, procerin and provillus. i am 28 and i think the hair is starting get thin and upward front hair line, however, it is just the begining phase and the i don't have much hair loss problem and the overall condition is fine, thus i want to know if it is the case which product is more suitable for me to prevent the future problem and may be reverse my hairline in the front a little, thank you for your valualbe opinion.
AskDocWeb: Although limited success has been reported in the hairline by a few men, we would not recommend either product for that use. As for reducing future hair loss we would go with Provillus.
Heavy hair fall
I was using minidoxil twice daily and 3 months back i reduced my dosage to once per day...but suddenly i experienced a heavy hair fall..was that due to reduction in dosage? now my doc has advised to start using it twice daily again...will my lost hair grow back if i use it twice again?? i hv to admit that i was heavily stressed in that period..it can be due to stress als
AskDocWeb: Reducing the dosage is known to reduce the effectiveness of minoxidil and has resulted in increased hair loss for others. The directions do say to use it twice a day. Results will almost always be better if you follow the directions.
