Hi Sir, I am using Tugain 5% daily since 3 months and I noticed hair growth. Do I need to use this on daily basis or alternative days as I got my hair back. Please suggest
AskDocWeb: The active ingredient in Tugain 5% is minoxidil. The data we have says that it needs to be applied twice a day daily in order to be fully effective.
How long to use minoxidil?
I am 17 years old. I have been using it for almost a year now. Ideally till what age should i continue using it? Will it have any side-effects if i plan to use it forever?
AskDocWeb: To our knowledge the possible long-term side effects have not been studied in a clinical setting beyond 2 years. As to an ideal age, that has not been established.

Is it safe?
hello sir I am 19 years old boy suffering from hair loss at vertex area . my cause of hair loss is swimming water . my scalp makes more irritated and itchy black patch of dandruff created at vertex area . my doctor firstly give Sylic acid shampoo and some medicin, lotions which remove the dandruff now I am getting 3 time jet mesotherapy and minoxidil 5 and finesteraide now I get good result and better improvement . I want to ask you is it safe for my health or hair
AskDocWeb: Unfortunately there is not a yes or no answer to the question of safety. All prescription drugs have potential side effects. It is for that reason that you have to get a prescription from a doctor before you can use them. Please read about the possible side effects of finasteride here.
I have experienced a 9# weight gain in the two months I have been using Minoxidill. 5 % Rogaine makes a 5% foam for women.
Hair in my ears
I take Modafinil 200 MG to stay alert because I have sleep apnea and you wouldn't believe the hair growing out of my ears. I'm sixty year old male and bald. My beard is almost white, but this hair in my ears is jet black and stronger than enything I ever had on the top of my head. I wonder what would happen if it were turned into a cream and I would put it on my scalp?
Does Rogain only work if you use it every day? I don't have the time to wash my hair every day?
AskDocWeb: It does take time to apply it according to the directions. Unfortunately it has to be applied twice a day to get the full effect.

Use during pregnancy?
I noticed a lot of questions about use during pregnancy. It actually says on the bottle that they don't recommend using it during pregnancy.
I face hairfall and dandruff problem from last 3 year.i used each and everything but found no result.after that I m going to doctor....he suggest me to take minoxidil 5 percent, finasteride, biotin and kenole plus shampoo for dandruff. ...but founds no results...my dandruff and hairfall are getting worse. ...tell me the right way to stop my dandruff and hairfall problem.
AskDocWeb: Unfortunately there is no one "right way" to do what you want. When you consider that there are several different causes of hair loss and the many different ways that people respond to the various treatments, there are just too many variables.

Effect on erections and sperm count?
Hi im 22 year old male and I started noticing hairfall since 2 years... I have consulted doctor so he says I have 25% of damaged hair.. he suggested me some medication but m not ready for it... I heard in my friend circle about the minoxidil solution.. bt even heard tht it will affect the erections and low sperm counts... is it true..?
AskDocWeb: According to an article from the Mayo Clinic, using too much minoxidil may cause an overdose which could produce sexual side effects. As far as we know those effects were limited to loss of sex drive and/or weaker erections. Sperm count was not mentioned in the articles we read.
Too much minoxidil
i used minoxidil from last month, i am suffering from loss of sexual desire,i know its due to too much absorption in my system, plz tell me the best way to eliminate it.
AskDocWeb: Do you mean besides discontinuing it? We know of no other way but to stop using it and allow the body to do its job.
Tremendous increase hair loss
I used mintop 2% solution for a month & noticed that it started to make my hair thin & increase the hair-loss tremendously. Should I stop using it? By, stopping its use will the hair-loss be reduced?
AskDocWeb: If the increase in hair loss was caused by the Mintop then discontinuing would seem to be a good idea although it may take a week or two to notice the difference.
