What side effects can I expect?
i am using 3% minoxidil with lipds. will it be harmful for me? i use 1 ml every alternate day. my hairfall happens from all portions with thinning in the middle though it is not that visible. to be on the safer side i started using minoxidil. i am 29 years old. what side effects can i expect from a 3% solution?
AskDocWeb: Please read the instructions that come with your hair loss treatment. Since the manufacturer recommends using 1ml twice a day, what you are using is one fourth of the recommended amount. That may not be enough to produce any results both for side effects and hair growth.
Trying to conceive
if i stopped minoxidil 2% topical. how long it will take to get out of my system, and in the conceiving period applying minoxidil will be a problum or not?
AskDocWeb: When topically applied, Minoxidil has a half-life of 22 hours in the skin. The time it takes for the body to eliminate a drug from your system is equal to about 5 half-lives. If you have a healthy elimination system then the minoxidil will be completely out of your system within 5 days after discontinuing use.
The Food and Drug Administration has assigned topical Minoxidil to pregnancy category C. Animal studies using oral minoxidil have failed to reveal evidence of teratogenicity, however reduced conception rates and an increased incidence of fetal absorption have been observed in rabbits given 5 times the usual human oral dose. For this reason Minoxidil is not recommended for use by pregnant women.
I want know about Minoxidil & Aminexil 10%. Pls tell me how work for my hair growth
AskDocWeb: Although Aminexil is available in a number of countries worldwide it is not approved for use as a treatment for hair loss in the USA. It is often mixed with minoxidil and if it does to work to any degree it's likely to be the minoxidil that helps and not the Aminexil.
I am using minoxidil 2 time a day ...is there any problem ..or side effects?
AskDocWeb: Although most people don't have any there are a few possible side effects. They are listed here.
Which is better?
Is finpecia better or androanagen better for hair loss treatment?
AskDocWeb: Finpecia is a brand name of the prescription drug finasteride. Androanagen appears to be a food supplement. Although a prescription drug has a much more powerful effect on the body that is not always better for the patient. If hair loss is caused by a vitamin deficiency then a vitamin supplement may be a better choice over a prescription drug.
Hair fall increasing
I am using MX 10 minoxidil topical solution USP 10% since 4 weeks as recommended by dermatologist by then in spite of hair gain facing hair fall intensely what should I do now opt it or not?
AskDocWeb: The product data sheet for topical minoxidil says to consult with your doctor if hair loss persists beyond two weeks.
Hair washing and oil
How to use Mintop 2% Hello my doc has recommended for hair fall me Mintop 2. I know how to use it, but I wanted to know whether I can use any hair oil( may be couple of hours later) after applying mintop. Also should I was my hair daily to use it?
AskDocWeb: How often you wash your hair depends on how often it needs it. Someone who works outdoors in a dusty environment may need to wash their hair daily compared to someone who works in an air conditioned office, who might wash it two or three times a week. The instructions only specify that the scalp and hair be clean and dry, not how often the hair should be washed.
As for using oil, if it is applied after Mintop has dried, it has no effect on the effectiveness of minoxidil (the active ingredient in Mintop).
How much to apply
how much quantity of mintop 2% solution is applied to my hair everday and can i use oil while using this?
AskDocWeb: To be effective, the Mintop 2% solution needs to be applied to the scalp, not just the hair. The recommended amount seems to be 1 milliliter twice a day for a total of 2ml. The question about oil was just answered above this post.

Facial hair if use continually?
Hi, I am Swarupa (no last names please) from Kolkata. My doctor suggested minokem5%, keraglo men tab, becloziate lotion. I am using this .. but my hair become more dry, frizzy but I see some new hair on front ....I just want to know will minokem cause facial hair if use continually ...doctor recommend twice apply of minokem and once becloziate a day.
AskDocWeb: In our country (USA) the Food and Drug Administration limits the formula of minoxidil used to treat hair loss in women to 2%. This was based on reports of the growth of unwanted body hair, including facial hair, by women who used the 5% formula. Not every woman had that experience with the stronger formula but enough did that the stronger formulas did not get approved for use here.
Minoxidil and sweating
what minoxidil react with sweating????
AskDocWeb: Minoxidil is not water soluble, which means that sweat does not dissolve it. Once it is dry, there is no risk of having it 'spread' to unwanted locations by sweating. If you give it a chance to dry before going into a sweaty situation the sweat will not affect the effectiveness of minoxidil.
