Subj: Trying to loose 50lbs
Hello Everyone, I've been taking phentermine for a month now and have lost 15lbs. The only side effect I've notice is dry month. I'm trying to loose 50lbs to be at my goal weight. I have noticed that I'm tried mid day now, I'm not sure if it's just my busy days or the pill. I think anything over done can be dangerous, so do it in moderation.
Subj: Blurred vision
I just started taking this medication for 2 days now. I do have dry month and blur vision. Do not get hungry at all, have to force food down. but I do drink lots of water. Can this medication affect my kidneys in any way.
AskDocWeb: If you have blurred vision, stop taking it and contact your doctor.
Subj: Phentermine and Glaucoma?
I have Glaucoma, can I take Phentermine?
AskDocWeb: Sorry no, use of Phentermine is not recommended if you have glaucoma or a history of heart conditions, brain or spinal cord disorders, atherosclerosis, high blood pressure, or hyperthyroidism.
Subj: Phentermine & Alli
Can I take both Phentermine (37.5mg) & Alli together for weight? Thanks,
AskDocWeb: Absolutely not without permission from your doctor.
Hi, I started phentermine 37.5 about one month ago, the first two weeks were great I lost 14 pounds. The third week I lost nothing. Now I am on my fourth week, and I gained three pounds back. I can't understand why? I don't eat alot at all, in fact I really don't ever want to eat. I drink plenty of water, and I don't eat late. I really only need to loose 15 more pounds. Now I feel like I wont loose any more weight. I guess what my question is will I continue to loose any more weight? Could I just be at a plateau? Please let me know if anyone out there has my problem. Thanks,
AskDocWeb: Yes, that is a good example of hitting a plateau. To lose more you may have to add some verity to your exercise.
Subj: Thermal CUTS
Do you have any comments on thermal CUTS weight reducer?
AskDocWeb: It seems strange that a product like Thermo-Cuts has been around for several years and still hasn't generated any positive comments, not just here but a search at Google.com doesn't turn up anything.
Subj: Menstrual cycle
Is there a possibility that it would affect your menstrual cycle?
AskDocWeb: Yes Phentermine may change the timing of your menstrual cycle.
Subj: Any feedback would help
I just started phentermine yesterday. I am hoping this is the answer for reducing my appetite. I sometimes eat when I am not hungry. I am sure the phentermine is not a miracle drug but I hope it helps out with compulsive eating as well. Any feedback would help. Thanks,
AskDocWeb: Only go shopping on a full stomach. And then only buy foods that are good for you. That way you will have to make a special trip in order to buy those extra goodies. This will give you the time you need to think "I don't need this". Something else you may find helpful are the Tips to Conquer Cravings.
Subj: What is going on?
I have been taking phentermine for 1 month now, I have lost 20lbs and I go to the Gym about 4 days a week. Well all of a sudden two days ago I started getting hungry and I want to eat more. I am still taking the medication in the morning before I eat. What could be causing this and I have not lost any weight in 2 weeks, can someone tell me, what is going on?
AskDocWeb: Some people develop a tolerance for the drug faster than others, and it just stops working. Upping the dosage will not work either. That will just produce some nasty side effects. It is time to talk to your doctor about how to proceed from here on.
Subj: Lost 40 pounds
I Have been taking phentermine37.5 for about 4 months I have lost 40 pounds I tried every thing nothing help until I got this pill I was in size 22s now I'm in 16s and I'm still on the pill last year I took it for 7 months and stopped now back on it good luck.
I just started taking phentermine on Friday. I had a decrease in my appetite immediately and had lots of energy but had insomnia that night and did not sleep at all. The second night I slept about three hours. Now on my third day I'm very tired. What's going on?
AskDocWeb: Phentermine stimulates your central nervous system. Taking the pill late in the evening or even after 6PM can lead to insomnia.
I have been taking phentermine for 4 months and have lost 25 lbs. Side effects have been minimal until recently. I have developed an allergic reaction to something. I have hives, itching, rashes, etc. for 1.5 weeks now. When reading possible side effects, it says if you have these symptoms to see a doctor ASAP. I have seen 3 different doctors. None of them seem concerned. They think I have developed an allergy to something. Could this be the phentermine after so much time?
AskDocWeb: Allergies are strange in that they can come and go for no obvious reason. And you can become allergic to anything at any time whether or not you've used it before. So yes, it is possible.
Subj: How long
If I took 3 Phentermine pills about 3 weeks ago, how long will it take for the Phentermine to leave my system when I have a drug test for work?
AskDocWeb: The amount of time will vary according to your metabolism, body mass index, etc. but our best guess is about a month to make sure it's out of your system.
Subj: Is this normal?
I have been taking phentermine and prozac together prescribed by my doctor. I am experiencing shortness of breath, a non complete yawn. When trying to take a deep breath I can't seem to get enough oxygen in. I have also been very lightheaded. Is this normal?
AskDocWeb: No, your problems are not normal. The more lightheaded you get the closer you are to passing out. Please contact your doctor.
I've been using phentermine for 2 weeks now and I love it. Although, I haven't had a period this month but have had the symptoms. Can phentermine cause you to not have a period?
AskDocWeb: Yes it can change your period and could occasionally delete it.
Subj: Bit of advice
Well, I'm not a happy camper of the habit forming "legal" drug to loose weight. My wife has been on this drug for about 6 to maybe 9 months now ( she won't really tell me ). She is now a completely different person, she can get very verbal and physical, ruining our marriage after 15 years, and I'm pretty pissed off at the so called doctors who prescribed this drug to her and people like her to loose a few pounds. Here, I have a suggestion, EAT LESS AND EXCERISE! That's it! Go figure, now I should be getting paid for that bit of advice. All these types of drugs are huge health risks, you can die, you can get divorced, you can get abusive, etc....Don't have some doctor or just a man in a white coat telling you its ok, its really not. Is it wrong to just be normal? Does everyone have to be a size 1, we are what we are, some people exercise more, and some just don't, some are born with a better hand that others, and some not, its just life. So be healthy, and take care of yourself, love yourself, in "my" opinion stay away from all of this crap.
Subj: Extreme side effects
I have been taking 37.5 does pills and over three months have lost 41 lbs. I went through extreme side effects the first two weeks! I thought there was no way I could do this, for me it had made me mean! I am Bi-Polar and I wonder if it has an effect on that? The only other things that is bad for me is the constipation, I go 2-3 days sometimes without "going!" My husband is now taking it and the only thing that I have noticed with him is bad breath? Terrible! If anyone has any suggestions please let me know?
AskDocWeb: Constipation is often the result of not drinking enough water. Drinking more water should help with that.
Subj: Change in appearance of the pill
I have been taking phentermine for almost a year and I have to take monthly drug screening. My test always came back positive until there was a bit of a change in it I think my pharmacy started using the generic because there was a price drop and a slight change in the appearance of the pill. However it still works great and I take it as prescribed but my last 3 drug screenings have came back neg. For phentrmine what could cause this?
AskDocWeb: Sorry, we don't know.
Subj: Taking Zoloft and Phetermine
Hi All I have spoken to my family doctor regarding taking Zoloft and Phetermine at the same time. He said there is no problem, I even asked the chemist twice and they told me the same thing, That there is no interaction. I am on 200mg of Zoloft for 2 years now and have started taking Duromine and my family doctor made sure it was ok to do so. Thanks
Subj: Severe skin problems?
I have been taking Phentermine for 6 months off and on and have lost a total of 34 pounds with diet and exercise included. I have been reading the side effects of Phentermine. Most have that Phentermine may cause Severe Skin PROBLEMS. What kind of skin problems?
