Their jurisdiction has to do with making sure the labeling is honest. Subj: Pregnant Date: 7/17/2007 I just found out I am pregnant. I ordered provillus a few days ago. Is it safe to take while pregnant or should I return it? Erin AskDocWeb: No problems have been reported with using Provillus while pregnant. On the other hand it is a good idea to keep your doctor informed about any supplements you are taking while pregnant. Subj: Provillus makes hair sticky Date: 8/1/2007 I am using Provillus right now but when I put it on my hair it makes it all sticky. Is there a way out of this? Anyway, has there ever been any reports on Provillus counteracting the effects of body hair removal? Dave AskDocWeb: No, there's no interaction and no need to be concerned. Subj: No oil to Canada Date: 8/23/2007 Hi I just bought Provillus and I live in Canada. Apparently Canada does not allow the oil to be delivered here, only the pills. I'm just wondering if it will still be as effective or is there no point to taking it? Greg AskDocWeb: You can probably substitute minoxidil for the oil. Do let us know how this works out for you. Subj: Arrhythmias? Date: 8/26/2007 I have been using Provillus for a few days, and have noticed a slight tachycardia and a couple of instances of a sharp pain lasting a second or two in the region of my heart. Could some of the ingredients in the Provillus liquid cause arrhythmias? I will not take something that could mess with my heart. If you feel that one or some of what's in Provillus could affect the heart, please advise me. Chris AskDocWeb: The saw palmetto in Provillus is known to cause chest pains in some people although it is not known if these are arrhythmias or not. Subj: Erection problem Date: 8/29/2007 I've been using Provillus for 3 1/2 months and I have noticed problems with my erections. I couldn't understand why and today I finally got to a conclusion, that it has to do with me taking Provillus. It's the only pill of any kind (supplement or drug) that I'm taking. I noticed problems almost a month ago and it's getting worse. I also haven't noticed any regrow of my hair. I used to take Propecia 3 years ago and the same thing happened to me, so the doctor told me to stop taking it. It took a couple of months to all get back to normal. I hope this is the case now, because I prefer being bald that having this issue any day. It's weird that no reports have been made, maybe pharmaceutical companies have something to do with that. Who knows! Have any other reports been made? Ricardo AskDocWeb: No, not for Provillus. Erection problems have several causes. Please consider getting a checkup (urologist) to make sure you are healthy in that area. Subj: I'm 16 and have hair loss problems Date: 9/3/2007 Hi, I'm 16 and I have some hair loss problems. My mother's entire family have genetic hair loss problems. I'm wondering if I should take any supplement at the age of 16 for DHT is an important hormone for kids. Kobie AskDocWeb: No, sorry you are not old enough yet, you have to be 18. Don't mistake normal daily hair loss for problem hair loss, loosing some is natural. Subj: Stimulate rapid hair growth? Date: 9/6/2007 I don't have any hair loss as such, I just want a product that can stimulate rapid hair growth permanently. Is this good for that reason or can you recommend something else that's natural? Bernadette AskDocWeb: As far as we know, there is no product on the market that can stimulate rapid hair growth permanently. Subj: Provillus Date: 9/17/2007 I'm only 17 years old is it safe for me to take Provillus? Sue AskDocWeb: It is suggested that you be legal age before taking any supplements. Once you start a hair loss product you always have to use it or loose the benefits. Subj: PABBA Date: 9/19/2007 I read in the ingredients that it also has PABBA in it. I have had allergic reactions to sunscreens with PABBA in it and burn badly. Will provillus give me trouble? Subj: Better Business Bureau Date: 9/20/2007 If you enter the phone number for provillus on the Better Business Bureau national website www.bbb.org, you will see that the company has an unsatisfactory record at several BBBs due to refund problems. Concerned Consumer Subj: Provillus and Nisim Products Date: 10/4/2007 I just started using Provillus. I also recently heard there are pretty good hair loss shampoo/conditioner and a gel called Nisim. LJ AskDocWeb: Provillus comes in both pills to take orally and a solution that contains 5% Minoxidil to be applied topically. Subj: Difference in ingredients? Date: 10/6/2007 Why is there a difference recommended for men and women? And is there a significant difference in the amount of the ingredients between the two? Mae AskDocWeb: The ingredients needed to obtain results are different because not all the causes of hair loss are the same for men and women. Subj: Is it normal to see shedding using a DHT inhibitor? Date: 10/10/2007 Hi, I have been using Provillus for a 1 1/2 months...and recently I have seen some more hair shedding on the front portion of my scalp. The hairs have a white bulb at the end. I was reading that this is normal, and that the old hairs are being pushed out and a new hairs are coming in. On top of this, I have seen new hairs coming in on my hairline as well....but my only question was if it is normal to see shedding using a DHT inhibitor product? Not everyone experiences it but shedding has been reported to occur in the first three months with every hair loss product on the market. Subj: Accutane Date: 10/13/2007 Hi, I'm getting ready to start my 2nd round of accutane in Dec. for 5 months. During the 1st round I lost 70% of my hair towards the end of the cycle.
