Subj: Minoxidil tablets?
Date: 10/27/2007
I tried everything: i.e. 2 years (lonetin/minoxidil tablets 10g which worked) but its a very dangerous drug (bloating, leg pains from water retention, heart and lung pains on occasions); formulated 12% minoxidil lotions (it's ok, still causes a little puffy face etc), laser treatment (crap results); and saw palmetto (sometimes good results as a stabilizer while the lotions of minox' make an attempt for regrowth.

For my question now, if I may: why does saw palmetto cause my face to puff up and get all wrinkly and sometimes my weight goes up by 5kg. I have used the product in isolation for 5 months so it's not minoxidil (which bloats my whole body, tablet form). Is this saw palmetto doing me harm? I just started using provillus and really like the combination of the ingredients...however, why not copper as well as zinc? I'll keep everyone posted on the results.

Twice I had fantastic results: once with the tablet minoxidil 10mg daily and rogain 5%; the other at Ashley and Martin programme (laser, saw palmetto, 7% minoxidil and reti' acid) however have never been able to repeat the results at Ashley and Martin? Strange? Currently using 12.5% minox', 5% azaleic acid, and retino' acic .025%, plus provillus, plus green teas,...? Note I was using Viviscal while on the Ashley and martin program (on my own accord). This is only the tip of the iceberg of what I have tried. By the way, self indulgence and or sex seems to play a strong part in the result factor (circulating dht increase). The less of that the better my results. But my girlfriend is already pissed off. Your comments and feedback are welcome. My forwarded thanks,
Dimitrij

AskDocWeb: Minoxidil tablets are reserved for patients with high blood pressure who do not respond adequately to other antihypertensive agents. If you use Minoxidil tablets to treat hair loss you risk congestive heart failure.

Subj: Questions about Provillus
Date: 11/3/2007
Just had a couple of questions about Provillus. Do you know if it works, and can you recommend it?
Jeff

AskDocWeb: Some people report it works but since our recommendations are based on feedback, we haven't made up our mind yet. There is not yet enough feedback to make a recommendation one way or another.

Subj: Provillus and herbal shampoo?
Date: 11/6/2007
I am currently taking provillus and I noticed the topical solution is making my hair fallen out even more, does this suppose to happen? Another thing, can I use Provillus and use an herbal hair shampoo for hair loss as well?
Kelvin

AskDocWeb: Many men have reported an increase in hair loss when beginning treatment with a hair loss product (Propecia, Procerin, Minoxidil, etc.). And yes, using a shampoo for hair loss along with your treatment is a good idea.

Subj: Confused
Date: 11/18/2007
I just purchased provillus, but am confused. when I purchased it, it was pills and a solution similar to rogaine. How come on some sites it is only speaking of pills. Also how is the most effective way to keep the solution on your scalp instead of rolling right into your face...
Deb

AskDocWeb: The website you saw are probably old, out of date sites. Sometimes manufacturers come out with new products or change formulas and not everyone can keep up with the changes. Be sure to check back in three or four months to share your results.

Subj: Blood pressure issues
Date: 11/25/2007
I am using Provillus for about more than 6 months now in combination with Rogaine and I have seen regrowth. Few people have mentioned blood pressure issues and I wanted to add my experience. I have checked my blood pressure twice on different occasions out of curiosity at my friend's place since he had the kit and to my surprise it was high. I am a perfectly healthy 28 year old man who workout 5 times a week and eats really healthy food and I don't have it in my family. I am thinking about discontinuing with all the side affects I am reading now which people has posted.

Subj: Heartburn
Date: 1/5/2008
Started Provillus and notice heartburn really bad. Kinda of a sensation in my chest. The monoxidil water down version of what you get at the drug store? Thanks in advance.

Subj: Losing a little
Date: 1/7/2008
I still have a full set of hair, only losing little here and there. Is provillus only intended for people who are already half way there or can someone with a full set of hair use it to stop premature hair loss? If so will it make the rest of my hair fall out if I stopped taking it, only because am not at the halfway point? Thanks,
John

AskDocWeb: Yes, you can take it even if you have a full head of hair. Those who have the best success typically starting treatment at the beginning of hair loss. If you stop treatment later, the only hair loss you have is what you would have lost if you had not taken the hair loss treatment.

Subj: It seems to be working - Slowly
Date: 1/14/2008
I've been using provillus for 3 1/2 months and there is Some hair growth. I am 25, Male and have long Brown hair. After using provillus for 3 1/2 months (as of today 1-14-08) I have blonde hairs a little longer than peach fuzz and the short (original) hairs around my hair line Which seemed to eventually fall out, have actually grown longer. The blond hairs are not very visible where I have no hair unless those areas are wet. But it seems to be working. Slowly. Now the down sides: The first thing I noticed after 2 months is that my beard had started to expand growth toward my eyes. That made me panic and I decided to experiment and only take the supplement capsule once a day vs. twice, while continuing the monoxidil twice a day. As of this week (and 41 days of 1 capsule a day), I have noticed that those hairs have began to disappear. (gratefully) Has anyone else experienced this problem? Does anyone have an idea on what would cause this?

The worst part of my provillus experience is how provillus WILL NOT answer my questions. They give me "Politician" sort of answers than dance around the question I asked. I notified them about the freak show beard growth asking if there is anything in the Supplement that may be causing this. I have asked if I continued only taking 1 capsule a day, if the treatment would still be affective or if I only used the Monoxidil solution, if that would still be affective. And my response was written in the form of an Ad without any answers to my questions. I am not concerned about Extremely Fast results, Just results.

Provillus does seem like it works, I am still skeptical to the extent of how much it works. If those blonde hairs will actually grow visibly long and turn into my brown hair color. depending on my results, I may switch to Procerin, since I have found Way better reviews for their product. But I will continue to give Provillus a chance and will keep you updated on my results.
John

Subj: Re-grown a good portion of my hair back
Date: 1/22/2008
I've just finished a 6 month supply of Provillus I started back in August. I've noticed thinning hair since I was about 23 and was using Nioxin to try and stop it. Now being 27 and unsatisfied with Nioxin, I tried Provillus, it took a couple of months but the product has worked for me. Not only has the thinning stopped but I've re-grown a good portion of my hair back, especially in the back and top. It seems to be working in the front but is taking longer, I'm guessing because I was much thinner in the front. From what I've read about other products the sooner you start the better and faster the results.

Subj: Provillus serum?
Date: 1/23/2008
Hello I ordered provillus and received 6 bottles of pills. Is there a serum as well to put on the scalp?
Lena

AskDocWeb: It depend on where and who you are ordering if from. Provillus does come with a serum, well, they call it a solution. It's available from several websites but you are better off ordering from the manufacturer to make sure you are getting the real deal.

Subj: Scalp became very sore
Date: 1/23/2008
I bought a two month supply of provillus with the intention of trying it for 6 months. If by then nothing happened I was going to stop. At about the time I was going to purchase my third months supply I began to notice my scalp flaking like very heavy dandruff (no hair growth). In a short space of time this broke the surface of my skin and my scalp became very sore, itchy and began to bleed in patches. The third bottle I ordered had still not arrived so I ran out. Within two to three days my scalp began to clear the third bottle still did not arrive so my scalp then cleared completely. I bought them from herbal health UK. I contacted them, their reply was abrupt, saying this cannot be caused by Provillus 4 years study says so. To me this is more than a coincidence as I have never even had so much as dandruff before this. The third bottle has still not arrived if it does I may take some again to prove once and for all whether this was the cause, if it is I will then stop. Either way I will write another review. However I am totally convinced that it did!

Date: 1/26/2008

Craig

Date: 2/5/2008
I have been using Minoxidil and I wonder if I can mix it up with Provillus. How long will it take to see some results?
Henry

AskDocWeb: Provillus comes in both pills to take orally and a solution that contains 5% Minoxidil to be applied topically. It can take from three to six months to see results.
