My husband has had flu he has taken six of the 10 pills. He developed hiccups second day we first thought it might be the cough syrup, but he stopped it right after hiccups started. His took a dose of tamiflu last night and has had hiccups on and off all day. We now suspect the tamiflu is the cause. He is not taking anything now just hope they stop soon.

Body smells like vegetables

Can Tamiflu cause a change in body odor i have flu and my body smells like vegetables its so annoying! Please help!

AskDocWeb: A change in body odor is not listed as one of the possible side effects of Tamiflu. Is it just you that perceives this or do other people also smell it? If you smell something that no one else does, you could be having a drug induced olfactory hallucination. This should be reported to your doctor.

Side effects
Date: 5/15/2015
How long do the side effects usually last?

AskDocWeb: Typically the side effects of an antiviral drug, including Tamiflu, last only a day or so, if they last longer than that you should consult with your doctor. Health experts suggest that if continuous cough or fever continue even a week after completing the Tamiflu course, one should consult with their healthcare provider. The fatigue and weakness caused by the flu may persist from two to three weeks.

Long term effects?
Date: 6/24/2015
Are there some serious long lasting side effects of tami flu?

AskDocWeb: There appears to be a lack of data regarding the long-term effects of Tamiflu. This is an area where more research is needed. The clinical studies conducted to date have not analyzed the effects of treatment after the drug is discontinued - although it is known that side-effects may present even after stopping the treatment.

Hallucinations but still recommend Tamiflu
Date: 3/10/2017
I started taking Tamiflu after being admitted to hospital with a horrible sore throat, severe chills & a temp of 102. My blood pressure dropped dangerously low & my. Oxygen levels fell so I needed oxygen plus I was hooked up to several IV liquids. Had 2 cat scans, several chest X-rays. The tamiflu drug made me have hallucinations but never any other side effects. Finally they decided I had Infuenza B & I was good to go home in three days. I would definatly take Tamiflu again & would recommend it to anyone who had this nasty flu
