Subj: Getting used to the side effects
OK, I love Xenical! It has been working for me. I do have side affects but I'm getting used to them. I've been taking them for a little under three months now and I'm down 25lbs!With insurance its only 30.00 per month. So if you have insurance don't let the cost stop you!! Nothing has worked like this for me before, I'm full quick, I think before I eat! Now that's big!
I have been taking phytoshape for 4 days, but I'm tired too much. I want to know if there is side effects?
AskDocWeb: Yes, there are enough bad side effects that it has been banned from market in several places.
Subj: Issue with Xenical
The issue with Xenical is that overweight people will take and not change the diet. It needs a change in diet and, be constant with the treatment. I have taken Xenical every two months for periods of two weeks and I have lost weight, about 2 to 2.5 lbs. per week. But keep in mind you have to "MAKE DIET", other wise you feel terrible. It is necessary to make up your mind and change you habits, no more burgers, or ribs or French fries but yes, more salad, steam chicken, mushrooms and a lot of water and, EXERSICE. Believe me it works but with a lot of discipline! Xenical is the only thing that helps you to really "BURN FAT" It works!
Subj: Constipated person
The verdict is still out for me. I am a very constipated person and I think this will hinder weight loss medication I take. Xenical seemed to work the first couple of months and then it just stopped. I have started taking it again and being more cautious to eat low fat meals.
Subj: Eat normally?
Hi, I have just gotten the prescription filled today for Xenical. Do I continue to eat like I normally would?
AskDocWeb: No, you need to be on a strict diet, which you can get from your doctor, he has copies.
Subj: Evening primrose oil and Xenical
I have been taking xenical for just over a week now and am finding that it works really well, have lost 5 lbs. so far. For the first couple of days I did feel slightly light headed but this has now subsided. Have had no accidents as I have been sticking to the low fat eating plan that is advised. I would like to start taking oil of evening primrose, could you tell me, is it possible to take them along with the xenical?
AskDocWeb: Combining the two could cause nausea, GI disturbances and headaches.
Subj: My own fault
I have been on Xenical for a week now. At first I had no side effects, but, and this is my own fault, I was hungry on Friday night and decided to have some cheese and biscuits. Woke early on Saturday with a rolling stomach, urge to use the loo, went and literally exploded. Horrible yellow, oil pouring out of me followed by the runs. Didn't have an accident but it was a near miss. I am not blaming the drug as it was me eating the cheese that caused it. I will stick to my low fat diet from now on and hope that over the next couple of days I get back to normal. I didn't get any side effects for the first week so it was definitely the fatty cheese. I was weighed when starting this and have weighed myself again this morning. I appear to have lost about 6-7lb so far in one week. Definitely going to carry on. We go on holiday in 4 weeks time so I want to stick to this until at least when we go away. Will keep updating this page with my progress. Oh and my stomach is noticeably flatter than it has been in years! Go for it!
My bmi is 24. Can I take xenical because I want to lose weight. Currently my weight is 123lbs and I'm 5'1'' tall.
AskDocWeb: No, you can't take Xenical unless your BMI is over 30.
Subj: Severe pain
I have used xenical and I also experienced severe pain in the front joints of my middle fingers, which abated after discontinuing the medication.
Subj: Xenical and pregnancy
I decided to start on Xenical due to my 234 pounds weight but I tried to read all the information I could find about it, before start taking it. My doctor recommended to take it for a four months period of time and now I am worried because I read that Xenical may be cause for miscarriage and I am planning to get pregnant in six months or so. Do you know anything about this? Can you please help me? Thanks a million!
AskDocWeb: If you are planning on getting pregnant in six months and your doctor says to use it for four months, there doesn't seem to be any problem. You will be off the drug two months before beginning to try for a pregnancy.
Subj: Lost about 40 LB
I have been taking xenical for almost 4 years. I lost about 40 LB very fast and have kept if off until about 3 months ago. I have not changed my lifestyle or eating habits. My question is does it stop maintaining your weight if you take it too long? I only take one pill a day during my main meal. This is how I have always done it. My other 2 meals are a bowl of low carb cereal for breakfast and for lunch usually just veggies.
AskDocWeb: Yes it can stop working after a period of time but it worked longer for you than it does for most people.
Subj: High fat food
I started taking xenical 5 days ago. I only take two capsules a day and eat a fat free breakfast. Does the pill still work with high fat foods, I'm confused. when you take the pill with a high fat food and it absorbs the fat is it really like eating a low fat meal. I've had a couple of orange stools and little back pain but other than that nothing more.
AskDocWeb: Xenical does NOT absorb fat, it keep your body from absorbing it. The fat you eat passes through your body undigested. That's what produces the orange stools. And the more fat you eat, the more likely you are to have accidents with those orange stools turning your underwear orange. You are not to eat any type of food high in fat while on xenical.
I just started taking xenical ...is it safe to take hoodia to reduce feelings of being hungry?
AskDocWeb: No, don't take any supplements unless you get your doctor's okay.
Subj: Will this work?
Hi. I have been on xenical for 2 weeks now. Is it okay to take it only at night after my main meal? Will it still work? I honestly lead a pretty healthy life. I exercise FAITHFULLY every day on my treadmill, swim, try to eat lowfat meals. I don't think I need to take it after breakfast since I eat 2 egg WHITE eggs with no butter and 1 pc of wheat toast with minimal brummel and brown margarine - low fat, coffee with no cream or milk or sugar. Lunch consists of Campbells Healthy Choice soup...low fat. I've noticed that if I take my pill 3x a day, I get more bloated and actually have less bowel movements the next day. I hardly ever have BM's all day. I go once or twice in the am and that's it. So where does that fat go during the day? Sorry for the confusion. Main question: will it help if I only take it after my MAIN evening meal? Thanks!
AskDocWeb: What you're talking about will change your daily dosage and that's something you need to discuss with your doctor. It will still have an affect but you need to follow your doctor's instructions to get the most benefit from Xenical.
I have been using xenical for one month three times a day and I am getting an itching in my skin, no rashes, what can I use for stop this it is very irritating. Please email me. Thank you,
AskDocWeb: You can take oral Benadryl but you should notify your doctor because your dosage may need adjusting or you may have to discontinue use before the reaction becomes worse.
Subj: Day glow urine
Hi, I'm using xenical about 2 weeks now with no weight loss but I have noticed my urine is bright yellow! Almost day glow! Is it a side affect?
AskDocWeb: It does change the color of your urine.
Subj: Slightly constipated
I have been taking Xenical for 2 days and I have had no bowel movements and slightly constipated. My BMI is well over 30...Wondering if this is normal, my diet is monitored carefully, I am counting calories.
AskDocWeb: Constipation isn't a side affect but rather the oppisite, it must be the diet you're on.
Subj: Alli with Phentermine?
I was just wondering if the new over the counter medicine Alli can be combine with phentermine, I figure you guys would have a better answer since xenical has been out previously prescribe.
AskDocWeb: It may be possible since the two work in different ways, Alli is a fat blocker and Phentermine reduces your appetite but check with your doctor first. It is a good idea to always tell your doctor about over-the-counter diet products you might want to combine with a prescription drug.
Subj: When to take Xenical
When is it really very effective? Taken before meal or after meal?
I have been on xenical for 2 days now and have noticed I'm really thirsty and drinking loads of water, around 3 litres a day. Do you think this could be related to xenical? I know you're supposed to drink lots of water. It's been great reading all of the comments, I really hope it works for me!
AskDocWeb: Yes, xenical does make you thirsty.
XENICAL ok ... my question is when I take xenical before with dinner, how long xenical stay in my system to absorb the fat of the food (1 hour, 2 hours, ???? ) I ask this, because I eat no too much and then after an hour I ate my ice cream... or happens that when I take the pill with food... my 2 year old needs I dipper change the other kid needs my help and the when I realize I didn't eat my meal after hour and 1/2, and I wonder if the pill is still their waiting that I finish my food...so for how long stay pill in your system to help you to lose weight?
AskDocWeb: The half-life of the metabolites is 3 hours for the primary and 13.5 hours for the secondary one so that should give you plenty of time to find time to eat something.
