Oily stools
Date: 2/21/2013
Hi there. Ok I have been using Xenical for 3 months now and have dropped from 150 lbs to 143 lbs plus lots of inches. So am very happy with the results. Of course I have been watching my diet and walking daily as well. Now 2 days ago I had a session of Ultralipo on my tummy. Since then I have been having extremely oily stools...dark orange like I used to have when I started Xenical. I haven't eaten anything fatty at all for this to happen. The only answer seems that Xenical is pushing the fat out of my system. I knew the fat came out through my normal lymph activities and I was told to drink loads of water, but these orange stools were totally unexpected though extremely welcome :). Can you tell me how this is happening???? I am mystified and would love to here your explanation. Thanks in advance :)
Asra

AskDocWeb: If by "Ultralipo" you are referring to the ultrasonic slimming treatment, it works on the fat that has already built up in the body. The oily stools may be a result of the disruption of fat cells by ultrasonic waves. Once the fat cells are broken down the body can eliminate that fat in your stools, which will be oilier because of the increased release of fat. That's what they mean when they say, "The fat is then excreted via the body's natural mechanisms."

Xenical works by a different method. It blocks the body's ability to absorb new fat from your food. Since the new fat that you consume is not absorbed it passes through your digestive system and may result in oily stools.

Horrible diarrhea

I took xenical for 7 days. Starting having horrible diarrhea the fourth day in. Stopped taking it 3 days ago and still have horrible diarrhea as in 8-10 times a day and now I am on my period. Horrible combo. When is this supposed to end? I was just supposed to take it for a week to detox my body. And now it isn't ending. Any ideas on what I can do?

Lose some fats?
Date: 9/30/2013
Is it normal not to lose weight after taking 2 weeks and 3 days but some observed that I lose some fats? I am not obese, I am overweight, it was recommended to lose weight because of my hypercholesterolemia and some possible complications. Does it mean that xenical works or should I return to my doctor for another prescription?
Shallow

AskDocWeb: It appears that you didn't understand the treatment plan prescribed by your doctor. You may want to ask your doctor what the goal is for your treatment plan. It is also important to understand how you will measure progress and what to do if progress is not made.
