Subj: Lost 48lbs!
Date: 3/31/2007
I have taken adipex for 3 months now, I love them! I have lost 48lbs! I am so very happy.. I have one problem, I feel like I am getting immune to them and they are not as strong anymore. Does this happen? Do I need to try something different? Can you up the does from 37.5? Other than that I am happy with them and love em!

Subj: Adipex with Xenical?
Date: 4/13/2007
Has anyone taken Adipex and Xenical together. I was on Xenical, then switched to Adipex. The pharmacist said you can take both together, as they do different things. I will, with Doctors okay, but wanted to know if anyone had success taking the two together.

Deb

AskDocWeb: There haven’t been any reports from anyone taking them both at the same time.

Subj: Phentermine hydochloride?
Date: 4/19/2007
I wanted to know what is phentermine hydochloride? Is it safe? I used phentermine and the capsule were yellow and these are white pill form with blue dots. I don’t think this is adipex. Can you please help me.

Michelle

AskDocWeb: Phentermine HCL is the same as Adipex. The appearance varies by manufacturer and dosage. It is an anorectic sympathomimetic amine, a short term treatment for exogenous obesity if your initial BMI is over 27.

Subj: Don’t feel the effects
Date: 4/21/2007
I’ve been taking Adipex for about three months and have only lost ten pounds. I don’t feel the effects that I felt the first month. I am hungry all of the time. Do I need to stop the medication and take something else? I heard if I stop the Medication for three days and then start back it will work, is this true? I need to lose twenty-five more pounds!

Kathy

AskDocWeb: Sorry Kathy, if you have already build up a tolerance then you’ll have to look for an alternative.

Subj: Where to order Adipex
Date: 5/9/2007

AskDocWeb: Adipex is available at most local pharmacies but you will need a prescription from your doctor.

Subj: Love Adipex
Date: 5/10/2007
I love, love, love Adipex. I workout, eat right but was not losing weight and this has gone on for years. Well, I just finished my first month of Adipex and my doctor will not prescribe for another 30 days. I’ve been off of it for 2 days now and I feel like (please pay heavy attention to the word feel) like I’m gaining weight as fast as I took it off. My question is, what to expect on the month I’m off of it?

brandy

AskDocWeb: What to expect when you go off it depends on a couple of things, diet and exercise. You need to learn to eat for nutrition and live an active lifestyle in order to keep the weight off. If you don’t do those two things then you will gain it all back.

Subj: Addicting?
Date: 5/15/2007
I started didrex about three years ago with 1/2 pill a day. Now I am on 3 to 4 pills a day I asked my doctor if it is addicting and he said no. It toke me a while to know that didrex is addicting. I went to see the doctor last week and told them that I fill very week when I don’t take the meds he said just lower the didrex slowly every week. By the way when I saw Dr last month he said that didrex is not addicting at all. He lied but than I know that all he cares about is the money that he makes. So I hope that I’ll start getting off this medication as soon. I strongly advice anyone out there please do not take this peel it will run your life. If anyone knows of a place where to go get help, please let me know, I couldn’t find anything online. I also herd that ativan can help you with the withdrawal of the didrex just for couple of weeks. You don’t want to take it for long time it’s addicting too. So please any info or advice let me know. And again DO NOT USE DIDREX.

Subj: Cannot eat
Date: 5/17/2007
I have been taking this med for 4 days and cannot eat at all. But I have lost weight in my stomach area and boobs. But I wanted to lose my stomach but I am weak from not eating so I also don’t want to be addicted to anything else in my life. This is great.

AskDocWeb: Just because you don’t have an appetite doesn’t mean that you can’t eat. It sounds like you need to consult with your doctor about what you should be doing while on this drug.

Subj: I’m a little worried
Date: 5/18/2007
Hi everyone! I started Adipex on March 3rd. Starting weight was 313 lbs. I was so pumped and excited that I didn’t have an appetite. Yes, I have to make myself eat. The very first week my doctor only wanted me to lose 4 lbs. I lost 7. God, this is the best feeling. I went to the Dr. on Thurs, May 10th and I was down to 289 lbs. I could have lost more but I love sweets, so I’d been cheating big time, but I was still losing weight. My doctor suggested that I not exercise. Well, I’ve started walking just because I love it. And I have to do better. But, two weeks ago for three days I had a bad headache and I felt dizzy all day. It stopped. But once I went to the doctor I expressed these side effects. His response was it probably was a sinus infection. I’ve been suffering with my sinus for years but never one time did I sneeze or felt drainage. So I went all week with no problems until today. I took my pill at BOUT 3 P.M. WHICH WAS too late, but I did. I have been nauseated all day and dizzy. My head feels like a spinning top. It’s 2:43 a.m. I feel so scared. Please, somebody help me. I love Adipex!!!!!!! But is it worth it.

Adipex works, but I’m a little worried.

AskDocWeb: These symptoms should be reported to your doctor. Are you eating properly besides the sugars? When something like this happens, call the doctor right away, don’t wait until you can get into a clinic.

Subj: Suggestions for keeping weight off?
Date: 5/20/2007
I have been using Adipex-P for 1.5 months and have lost 11 pounds. I started at 232lbs. I am pre-diabetic. I believe this was the right choice for me. The main problems I have are dry-mouth, and constipation. I am learning that I do not need food as a stress reliever. Also Adipex has really increased my energy! I believe this has help. The less tired I am the less I want to eat. I hope I can keep the weight off when I get to my recommended weight. Any suggestions for this? Thanks,

Susan

AskDocWeb: Stick to the same eating patterns that you have been on while taking Adipex and a daily walk should do it.

Subj: Adipex ruins your day
Date: 5/25/2007
I used Adipex and it works, but God does it ruin your day! It made me so moody, I would cry for no reason, my mouth would be so dry, I would keep drinking water, it wouldn’t work, I would feel nausea throughout the day, I could not eat, I had not energy, I was shaking, but as far as losing weight, yes it works. Is it worth it? Not if you get it off the Internet, it’s actually better to get it prescribed. I found the ones on the Internet have more side effects. But as far as taking it, I stopped, I just work out and eat right now, the whole mood swing thing is not worth it for me.

Subj: Hands and feet are getting hard and dry
Date: 6/20/2007
I have been taking Adipex for about four months now. I am happy to say I have lost 25 pounds. I would have lost more, but I stopped exercising three times a week because of my busy schedule. I do plan to start my exercise routine back up soon. I feel that I would have lost more if it had not been for that. I don’t want to stop taking Adipex because I have not reached my goal weight. I am 5′ 4″ and weigh 154 pounds, my goal weight is 140-145 pounds. I have about 28 pills left, so that means 28 more days to reach my goal weight. Knowing that I have less than a month left, increases my drive to exercise. Lately, I have noticed that the skin on my hands and feet are getting hard and dry. I know symptoms include dry mouth. Is it possible this medicine is causing unreversible harm to my system? I have been sloughing my hands and feet with intense therapy lotion, so I get temporarily relief on and off all day. Please advise…

Twilight

AskDocWeb: It’s not a listed side effect so it may be caused by something else. You might want to have your skin checked out by a dermatologist and tell him you are taking Adipex just in case.

Subj: Adipex success story
Date: 7/10/2007
I have never had a huge problem with my weight, was always thin in high school and my first year of college, then started packing on the pounds. It was so humiliating to me to see old friends and feel like I’d blown up like a balloon. I have been on adipex now for approx. a month and have had great results. I am 26, 5’7, and was nearing 200 lbs., a point I said I would never allow myself to be at. When I hit 199, I said that’s it – and started dieting/exercising with little results. My family members were also dieting and were losing like crazy, but I got stuck at 187 after 12 weeks and could NOT get past that point. My dr. then prescribed Adipex. The first time around I tried to take it – I had horrible side effects and couldn’t deal with it. I would chew on my tongue, play with my finger tips until they were raw, and was extremely jittery. I was hungrier than ever! I went off of it for a month still trying to lose weight, nothing happened. I then spoke with my health care provider about taking a different approach: I started out cutting the pills in 1/4, after a few days to 1/2, etc. building my way up to the full dosage. Between May 30, 2007 and July 2, 2007, I had lost 26 pounds and I am very pleased. I still get hungry, but I get full fast. Healthy drinks with calories seem to fulfill my hunger. I drink a lot of “sports drinks” (Gatorade, PowerAde, etc.) during the day to make sure I’m getting all the electrolytes and fluids I need to stay healthy, as well as take a daily vitamin. If I can’t force myself to eat lunch (have never been one who could eat breakfast), I make sure I eat LOTS of protein for dinner, kind of like combining south beach with the diet pill. I have experience a few side effects such as constipation and difficulty urinating, but am told that can be normal and just to be patient and they should subside. I can eventually pee, sometimes just takes a while and some force!

Since my last visit a week ago, I have lost 4 more pounds, taking me to 157.. I’m on my way! it feels so wonderful for people to notice my weight loss, coworkers, family members, etc. I am 26 years old and wearing some dress pants that I bought in high school and was never small enough to wear! Glad I saved them. Even my ex-husband has noticed, felt great! Realistically, I think 140 is a good goal, however I’d be ecstatic if I could get in the 130’s 🙂 I highly recommend this medication as long as it is not abused and used with a healthy diet (I can’t say exercise, that’s something I’m not doing!)Good luck to you all, and don’t be afraid to contact your health care provider with any potential side effects! And also please remember this is a very addictive drug, use caution and ween yourself off of it or you might crash and be a mental/emotional mess.

Julia
