Dizziness and elevated BP
Date: 8/6/2014
I have recently gotten a prescription for Adipex-P. I have tried half of 37.5 mg tablet, on 3 occassions, and for a few days and each time the first day is great, but the second day I have dizziness and slightly elevated BP with activity or being out in the heat. Is this normal???
Melissa
AskDocWeb: That is not the typical experience for most patients taking Adipex-P. Please discuss this with your doctor as your dosage may need to be adjusted.
Drug interaction?
Date: 8/12/2014
Can I take DayQuil severe cold and flu with the pill adipex??
Kim
AskDocWeb: Taking the two together has the potential for a couple of different problems. First they both act as stimulants and second, they both increase sympathetic (adrenergic) effects, including increased blood pressure and heart rate. Because there is the potential for a drug interaction, consult with your doctor before using these products together.
So far so good
Date: 8/15/2014
I started Adipex-p on 8/11/14. I am 5’4″ and weight 248.6. So far so good, I took it three years ago and lost sixty pounds. In the last three years I gained it back and much more. I decided to do a little different this time. I am sticking to a low carb diet. No caffeine, no starch, I have never eaten breakfast. Lunch I’ll eat some raw veggies a small portion, dinner I eat lean meat with raw veggies. Before bed I take a vitamin. I walk a mile a day hoping to get up to 5 miles a day. I have been on it for five days and I am down 12 lbs. Once I hit my goal weight I will continue to eat the same things I do now to maintain my weight. Good luck everyone…

Severe headaches and blurred vision
Date: 8/21/2014
I have taken Adipex in the past and have lost weight but never kept it off. I have been on Bontril for 7 weeks and have lost 16 pounds. (learning to do it slow and consistent with diet and lifestyle changes this time!). I am getting pretty sever headaches about 1.5 hours after taking the Bontril and noticed significant blurred vision. Your feedback mentioned these headaches may go away….how long does it take before I know if they will go away?
At first I thought it was low blood sugar and lack of carbs (strict 1500 cal/day) I weigh 254…. but had days where I skipped the Bontril to see and did not have headaches. Def the Bontril doing it. I rememeber the Adipex caused headaches also. I have no health issues other than obesity. never had HTN or diabetes… why am I getting headaches and my friend, also on Bontril, never does?

AskDocWeb: The answer to why some people have side effects and others don’t has to do with differences in body chemistry, metabolism, and diet. Severe headaches and blurred vision are possible side effects that should be reported to your doctor.
Adipex review
Date: 10/6/2014
I took audio hex for two months. Initial symptoms were trouble falling or staying asleep, though had plenty of energy even on little sleep, and extreme thirst. Didn’t seem to help me too much with weight loss. Twice I forgot to take pill in The morning. Both days by about 12:30 pm, I could barely keep awake. Really hard to function even though I had to remain awake and keep going to the best of my ability. Was afraid to stop taking it for this reason. Needed to be able to function. Decided to taper off slowly. Extreme fatigue for days, to the point of not being able to think straight, and now I have a chest cold. Can’t tell for sure if the fatigue is from tapering off the adiphex, but I think it is.

Adipex side effects
Date: 11/6/2014
I just started taking Adipex on Sunday 11/9/2014. Sunday and Monday I felt great, additionally, I had little appetite but was experiencing dry mouth. By Tuesday, I started to get a dull headache and my brain felt foggy. By Wednesday, I felt sick with the chills, dizzy and nauseated. I also had issues with being able to stay asleep, I would frequently wake up throughout the night. I did not take the pill today and I am starting to feel a bit better. My question is, will the side effects eventually go away? I was thinking of cutting the pill in half or taking a quarter of the pill. My body tends to be very sensitive to medications. I am hoping the side-effects will subside, because the pill really is helping so much with my eating.
