Subj: Green tea insomnia?
Date: 7/16/2006
I just started using Advecia supplement for hair. One thing I noticed is an ‘inability’ to fall asleep! Its been 4 days since first dose and I am experiencing Insomnia. Not mild but really serious Insomnia. Someone has suggested that it might be the Green Tea Extract in the product, but I know that it contains only 600mg per serving. Could that be it! If it is what should I do. Stop taking Advecia! Thanks for any help/feedback!!
PS. I am quite sensitive (brain wise that is!) to substances containing caffeine, i.e. I don’t drink tea, coffee, or even Cola products! One can of Coke – in the morning – and kiss night goodbye!
TALAL
AskDocWeb: Yes, the Green Tea in Advecia could cause insomnia for those who are sensitive to it.
Subj: Best hair product?
Date: 7/17/2006
I was wondering what was the best hair product?
Jimmy
AskDocWeb: That depends on what criteria you are using when you say best. Propecia is the most effective product to regrow hair but it comes with some serious side effects. Many of the readers here report good results with Procerin, and you don’t need a prescription.
Subj: Email
Date: 7/19/2006
Send me information.
Donald
AskDocWeb: Even if we knew what product you wanted to know about (hundreds of products are discussed here) we don’t have time to send individual replies to email. If you use one of the products listed on the left side of this page you can share your experience with others here.
Subj: 47 with receding hairline
Date: 8/1/2006
I’m 47, and my hair line is receeding. What would be the best product for me?
Kirk
AskDocWeb: According to the readers here, Procerin.
Subj: Get Advecia
Date: 9/1/2006
How can I get advecia for women?
Sharon
AskDocWeb: You can order on-line but if you do, please consider joining our Advecia study to share your results with others.
Subj: Good news – bad news
Date: 9/8/2006
I used Advecia for 3 months as directed on the bottle. Good news – my hair looked and felt much healthier. Bad news – the hair loss did not slow and continues. I think it’s a great supplement, but unfortunately it was not effective against the cause of my hair loss (whatever that may be).

Subj: Purchase outside U.S.A.
Date: 9/12/2006
Sir, I found this information to be useful. It brought confidence to me that hairfall can be stopped. Sir, I stay outside U.S. so how should I purchase it.
Shashikant
AskDocWeb: It depends on the country where you live. Most of the time there is no problem shipping worldwide. If you suspect that your country may not allow the importing of herbal products then check with your port authority or local customs office.
Subj: Does Advecia block DHT?
Date: 9/17/2006
In your reply to Roza (dated 8/9/05 on feedback page 3), you said that Advecia is not likely to help with DHT condition.
But on feedback page 2, your reply to George from South Africa (dated 7/16/05), you said that Advecia is intended to reduce DHT and also provides vitamins and minerals.
From product info on this website, I understand that Procerin works by blocking production of DHT. But for Advecia, it does not exactly say whether Advecia provides necessary vitamins only or if it also blocks DHT. Can you please clarify this point for me?
From feedback pages, some people reported using the two products together which leads me to believe that Procerin is used for blocking DHT while Advecia provides vitamins for regrowth. Or is it because ingredients in Advecia have changed from the time you initially replied to George from South Africa to the time when you replied to Roza?
If the former is true then I’d try both products at the same time, otherwise Advecia would be a better choice for me as it blocks DHT and provides minerals as well.
Martin
AskDocWeb: The formula changed between answers. Advecia now blocks DHT, they just use less Saw Palmetto. If Advecia is the only product you are going to use to stop hair loss, please consider joining our study so others can track your progress.
Subj: Provillus?
Date: 9/20/2006
I was about to buy Scalp Med, but then I came across provillus, and they seem to be the real deal. What would you suggest? I am 22 thinning. Thanks,
Antonio
AskDocWeb: If by the “real deal” you mean a legitimate product and company then yes, Provillus is real. If that is the only hair loss product you plan on using, please report your progress here.
Subj: Proscar – Propecia
Date: 10/8/2006
I’ve been taking Proscar for a year. I was told by a hair specialist that it was the same as Propecia, but cheaper. Is this true? What are my options in regards to products in the “finasteride” category?
Damon.
AskDocWeb: You’re limited to just those two products right now. They do have the same active ingredient. There’s 1mg of finasteride in Propecia and 5mg of finasteride in Proscar. Some men split the 5mg Proscar pills into four parts (1.25mg each) to save money. That is not recommended because splitting the pill exposes the finasteride, which can be absorbed through the skin and can cause birth defects.
Subj: Nourkrin or Advecia
Date: 10/9/2006
Hi I am Ali from London. I am 21 male. I suffering from losing and thinning hairs about 2 months. I consulted to doctor but they prescribe me minoxidil and propecia for use. But I don’t want to use that because there is lots of side effects of that. So I am not interested to use that. I want to use “NOURKRIN” OR “ADVECIA”. But I am confused which one is good for me. please tell me which is good for my problem. And also tell me that these two products have any side effects like minoxidil and propecia. Please reply me and help me thanks. I’m waiting for your reply.
Rehan
AskDocWeb: There hasn’t been any feedback on Nourkrin but Advecia has no side effects like the ones produced by Minoxidil or Propecia.
Subj: Hair removal and Advecia?
Date: 11/20/2006
Does Advecia conflict with laser hair removal of the body?
Joe
AskDocWeb: No, there is no conflict with laser hair removal.
Subj: More feedback?
Date: 12/13/2006
Why hasn’t there been more feedback on this product?
Tommy
AskDocWeb: Probably because it is not well known yet. Advecia is a relatively new hair loss product.
Subj: Hair is thinning out
Date: 11/14/2007
I have very thick hair, but it’s now thinning out (a lot) because of an eating disorder- I know that this can be the only cause- do you think it will help make my hair healthy again, fuller, and thicker? Thank you.
Josie
AskDocWeb: There is no way to tell beforehand if it will work or not. You’ll just have to try it and find out if it does.
Subj: Advecia study
Date: 1/10/2008
Are you still looking for volunteers for the advecia study, I’m a 23 year old male with some thinning and a receding hairline. I can post pictures as well if necessary.
Rob
AskDocWeb: Yes, do share your results with others here.
Subj: Provillus or Advecia?
Date: 1/14/2008
Which has better customer reviews for women Provillus or Advecia?
Mlgift
AskDocWeb: So far the customer reviews favor Advecia.
Subj: My hair loss has stopped
Date: 1/16/2009
I use Advecia and Procerin together, they seem to work ok. My hair loss has stopped, that is the main thing, it was stopped in time, and light thin growth is evident, competent hair cutting helps, & I’m confident I won’t now become bald.
K.
Subj: Tony Kent, OH
Date: 2/12/2008
I’d like to participate in the Advecia study. I am a 22 year old male. My address is xxxxx Kent, OH. I just got a 6 month supply.
Tony
AskDocWeb: Welcome Tony, we will look forward to your reports on how well this works.
Subj: I would like to know
Date: 6/2/2009
I would like to know the difference of this products and know witch one is better for me:
Advecia
Avacor
Procerin
Profollica
Propecia
Thymuskin
Vaniqa
Thank you!
Taffy
AskDocWeb: Is that an invitation to write a book? You can separate Vaniqa from the rest because that is a product to prevent the growth of hair. You can read about each of the remaining products here.
Subj: Saw Palmetto and a multi vitamin?
Date: 2/8/2011
Advecia claims to block DHT and provide vitamins and minerals to promote hair growth. Couldn’t you just take Saw Palmetto and a multi vitamin and get the same results? Why would it be better to take Advecia?
Scott
AskDocWeb: The multivitamin would not provide several of the ingredients in Advecia; Phytosterol Complex, Beta Sitosterol, Green Tea Extract, L-Lysine, Grape Seed Extract, or Proanthyocyanidins/Procyanidins, etc. Of course you could buy all of the ingredients separately but the total cost would far exceed the cost of Advecia.
Subj: Testosterone levels?
Date: 5/24/2011
Hi, I am wondering that if I take advecia will it change my testosterone levels?
Dex
AskDocWeb: The manufacturer of Advecia makes no such claims and there are no reports of that happening.
Subj: Green tea extract
Date: 7/30/2011
I am just curious about the green tea extract advecia contains. I’ve been googling and I keep finding conflicting results. One saying that green tea lowers dht and others say that it increases DHT. I am just wondering if you know which one is right?
SS
AskDocWeb: The problem with answering that question is that the studies have yet to agree on conclusions. The effect that green tea has on androgen levels is complex and has yet to definitively identified. A high intake of green tea correlates to higher levels of sex hormone-binding protein – or globulin, which carries hormones like testosterone around the body in a bound, unusable form so that tissues cannot use it directly. Testosterone is usually carried around the body by this binding protein, which reduces levels of free testosterone, so that it cannot be converted to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in the hair follicle.
Subj: Grape Seed extract
Date: 8/23/2011
Grape Seed extract has some very dangerous side effects including hemorrhagic stroke, internal & external bleeding. Before taking any supplement, check the side effects. I had an allergic reaction: hives & itching.
k. b.
AskDocWeb: While it is true that grape seed extract has a few warnings, hemorrhagic stroke and bleeding are not among them. On the contrary, grape seed extract has been used to treat those conditions for more than 40 years in Europe. You might want to look up some of the book authored by Seattle’s Dr. Michael Murray such as Doctor Murray’s Total Body Tune-Up: Slow Down the Aging Process, Keep Your System Running Smoothly, Help Your Body Heal Itself–for Life!. He has published several books on the medicinal value of plant chemicals. Report on Advecia – 2 – 3 – Page 4 – Last page 5 –
After reviewing over a dozen of the most well-known products for hair loss we have decided to recommend Profollica.
