Positive Celebrex review
Date: 3/29/2014
I have taken Celebrex 100 mg. daily …successfully for approx. 20 years for joint pain in both knees without any noticeable side effects. Finally I listened to my doctors and had total replacements of both knees two years ago at age 66. I just went off Celebrex 5 days ago as I felt it was no longer necessary to take it as I have no more chronic pain and I feel, great now with no apparent withdrawal or side effects! Thank you Celebrex for helping me be comfortable for so many years etc.

Frequent urination
Date: 5/9/2014
I’ve been using Celebrex for 2 weeks. Not only do I have to urinate all the time I feel like I have to urinate even when I’ve just voided. I’ve been through all the tests for bladder problems and my bladder has been fine until I started this medication. I was up 4 times last night! Is this a side effect of the medication? If so, do you know how long it will be before my bladder goes back to some normalcy?

Sheryl

AskDocWeb: Celebrex is an anti-inflammatory and doesn’t usually have any effect on urination. However, frequent urination IS listed as one of the rare possible side effect of this medication. On the other hand, in people with overactive bladder syndrome, the involuntary bladder contractions lead to frequent and often urgent urination, meaning you have to get to a bathroom right now — even if your bladder is not full. And as you have reported, it may also lead you to wake up once or more during the night to use the bathroom. It would seem to be a good idea to discuss this with your doctor because this may be an unrelated problem.

AskDocWeb: Swelling and itching are side effects that should be reported to your doctor. If this turns out to be an allergic reaction, that needs to become part of your medical history for future reference. Please talk to your doctor about your symptoms.

Experience with Curaderm
Date: 6/19/2014
I have been using Curaderm to treat a SCC on my face. The original lesion increased alarmingly in size, going from much smaller than a dime size to larger than a fifty cent piece. The curaderm worked as predicted and new skin grew within sever or eight weeks. The redness faded nicely over the next month. Then I noticed a small white pimple on the periphery of the healed lesion and applied Curaderm to it. In one day it turned black and popped off. A day or so later an area of skin peeled off about an inch in circumference. That went through the same predictable process.

Two days ago I found another small pimple like bump so applied the cream to that. Now another area of skin is peeling off. The cream seems to be following a path on my face. It’s discouraging to think you’re done and to discover more areas need treating, but I’m glad I’m using Curaderm because I’m certain no surgery would have gotten the whole affected area and there would be “recurrences” sooner or later.

My advice to new users is to pursue those pimples and bumps that don’t look quite right, because they probably need treatment too! And, yes, the process is painful, but it’s not unbearable, and the worst of it passes in about a week, at least for me.

Celebrex allergy
Date: 6/26/2014
After one dose of Celebrex I developed severe itching and redness. Started in perineal area, then palms of hands, feet, scalp and all over body, in that order. Took Benadryl and eventually subsided. Will never take Celebrex again. Now on my list of drug allergies.

Weight gain
Date: 8/23/2014
I have been taking Celebrex for a couple months now (200 mg/day). I found out I have severe osteoarthritis in my hip, and will be having hip replacement surgery in a couple weeks. It was kind of a mini-miracle how the pain began to subside after a few days on it! I am worried about the pain that will come back before the surgery, because I have to stop it for about a week before. I feel quite good on it, BUT I noticed quite a bit of weight gain, and it has me quite depressed! I have really been watching what I eat, and even though can’t do regular exercise, I do stretches and move around a lot around the house, etc. I feel relieved to know it could be related to the Celebrex! Glad I found this page!

Date: 9/4/2014
I HAVE TAKEN CELEBREX FOR YEARS AND THE SIDE EFFECTS ARE COUNTLESS, BUT THE WORST IS ITCHING AND RASH/BLISTERS, WEIGHT GAIN JUST FEEL BAD IN GENERAL. THEY REALLY DON’T HELP THE PAIN, I STOPPED TAKING THEM 2 WEEKS AGO AND THE ITCHING, RASH/BLISTERS ARE ALMOST GONE AND I AM FEELING QUITE A LOT BETTER. AT THIS POINT IN TIME I DON’T PLAN ON TAKING THEM ANY MORE AND ALSO WANTED TO MENTION THE COST IS OFF THE PAGE AS MY INSURANCE REFUSES TO PAY FOR THEM. THANKS

Gained 17 pounds
Date: 11/23/2014
Due to stomach issues my GI dr suggest that I use Celebes in place of Aleve. Taking Aleve offered great relief to multiple arthritis, so I was reluctant to switch . I did, however, and within 3 weeks, I gained 17 pounds (no change to my diet) and my anxiety went through the roof. I was having panic attacks as well as mood swings. Stopped the Celebrex today. I guess in my case, the side effects outweighed the relief. Only time will tell.
