Is Curaderm available in Australia?
Date: 3/6/2014
Can you tell me if Curaderm bec5 is available on prescription or at chemists I. Australia. I have a spot on my nose that the skin Doc wants to biopsy and then freeze off. I am currently testing apple cider vinegar directly on the to so far it has caused some swelling and redness. Thank you for any advice you can offer me. Regards

Christine

AskDocWeb: The purpose of the biopsy is to identify what the spot is so that an appropriate treatment may be determined. If the spot is something that Curaderm has no effect on then using Curaderm would be a waste of time and money.

Self diagnosed and self treating
Date: 3/6/2014
I had an appointment with a dermatologist today. I had self diagnosed and have been self treating my lesion for 6 months with Curaderm. I have no insurance and thought there would be no way that I could afford to go to a doctor. So, I searched the Internet and did my best. I was concerned that Curaderm was not doing a it’s job and I had so much pain!! The dermatologist looked at my lesion and said that he didn’t need to do a biopsy, it was clearly a BCC. The bigger concern was that Vuraderm had eaten down to the muscle!!! I will now be having surgery next week with a skin graft. Curaderm did NOT work for me!

Recommend Curaderm?
Date: 4/24/2014
I had a spot on my leg and chest biopsied and they came back as squamous cell carcinoma. My dermatologist wants to perform Mohs surgery but because of past surgeries and the scars left I let him know I wanted to use Curaderm instead. He says I shouldn’t do this because it could drive the cancer deeper and cause it to spread. Should I be concerned this will occur? I find it interesting that the dermatologists office gave me samples of Aluvea cream to use on dry, non-cancerous spots. The active ingredient in Aluvea is urea – 39%, the same ingredient in Curaderm. I am also taking daily pictures. I previously used Curaderm on a spot that was not biopsied and it got rid of the spot. There is a slight pink color where the spot was but the spot is gone. I would definitely recommend Curaderm over surgery but wish my doctor felt the same way.

Kevon

AskDocWeb: Since Curaderm is not approved for any use by the Food and Drug Administration it is understandable why many dermatologists are reluctant to recommend it. Now about your dermatologist saying it can drive the cancer deeper and cause it to spread; we would really like to see his source for that contention. Did you ask if he or she could point you to the research that shows that?

Three weeks in
Date: 5/21/2014
I’m just at three weeks into what I thought would be a quick treatment. Even though I’ve never used Eggplant on cancer before, somehow before I even started I felt it would work fast. I lost my son three years ago after a three year battle with Ewings Sarcoma, a tumor that I found on his hip that looked like a bruise. If I knew then what I knew now I would NEVER have taken him to a symptom prolongation professional,

After two years of Curaderm
Date: 6/10/2014
Hello, My husband was diagnosed with Basal Cell a couple of years ago and has been using Curaderm for two years now on his cheek and the skin reacted like you say. It got bigger and then smaller and smaller, but it never actually closed up. Just when it seems to close up, it opens again. Also the skin all around it is now seeming harder and redder. We are concerned it if is spreading deeper. We are worried that Mohs surgery will cause too much distruction. Would you please help us? What can we do to make this work so as to avoid Mohs? Why would the skin keep re-opening and then get hard all around? Let me know where I can send progress photos Please Help!

Curaderm BEC5 on leg
Date: 7/18/2014
I began treating my husband with Curaderm BEC5 for a spot on his lower leg. He had had what he thought was a splinter (felt “prickly”). After several days of applying BEC5 the skin began eroding & turned “angry” red – oozing yellow excrement. At that point I removed the exposed splinter & continued treatment. It became inflamed & formed a brown scab with hard yellow coating. Discontinued this & started using Polysporin ointment & admin. Cephalexin orally for infection. These are still oozing yellow around the edges of the wound (cover with gauze bandage & dress 2 times/day. Should I continue with wound healing protocol until complete then start BEC5 again to treat the BCC? Medical doctors call the BEC5 “snake oil” Don’t know what to do from here??? Please advise. Thank you for any help you might be able to give concerning our situation.

Testimonies of people using Curaderm
Date: 7/24/2014
Wondering about using Cureaderm on Vulvar squamous cell carcinoma in the genital area? My friend used it on her nose & it caused a big hole to form where the cancer had been. Is it safe to have such a hole form in the sensitive genital area? Do you have testimonies of people using it successfully in this area? Thanks!

Shirley

Fatigue
Date: 9/18/2014
I am using it now on several small bumps that appeared on my chest and were itchy and sore. I have used twice a day for over a week. The cream has caused the skin to turn red, ulcerate and now some discharge is emerging. I am in my second week and I think the healing is already taking place. I was wondering if the reason I felt a bit tired all week was due to the healing process?

Lisa

AskDocWeb: That sounds reasonable, the body does need more rest when dealing with an infection.

It burns terribly
Date: 10/12/2014
I have been using Curaderm BEC5 on a very small bcc, on my cheek just below my eye, for the past 15 weeks. It followed the usual route of getting large then it was beginning to get smaller and smaller every day or so. Then, a month ago, it just stopped healing. The hole has stayed about the size of a pea for the past month even though I cleanse it with Hibiclens and reapply the Curaderm several times daily. It burns terribly for about an hour after I apply the cream. I am becoming very discouraged. Is there anything else I could or should be doing to finish the healing. I would appreciate your advice and help. I will need to order a second tube soon. thank you.

Susan

AskDocWeb: We consider Curaderm to be an experimental product and encourage anyone thinking about using it to work closely with a dermatologist. However, be aware that not all dermatologists are willing to do that.

Excellent results, and surprisingly it also got rid of 3 sebaceous cysts on my face, and also open pores. A wonderful cream, thank you.
