Subj: Lexapro or Wellbutrin

Can Lexapro and or Wellbutin give a urine false positive result for Methamphetamines/Esctasy?

AskDocWeb: Lexapro has not shown up in the list of false positives causes. However, Wellbutrin sometimes shows up as a false positive for amphetamines. And note that some urine drug tests don’t make a distinction between amphetamines and methamphetamines. Neither drug has been reported to cause a false positive for Ecstasy.
Subj: Need help to advocate for myself

FALSE-POSITIVE FOR OXYCONTIN PLEASE HELP ME!!! I am in a Drug Treatment court program. I get tested weekly on a 5 panel test, and randomly on a Oxycontin specific instant stick test (UA) by my Probation Officer at the courthouse. I am only on Rx medications, which is Seroquel at night and Suboxone in the morning (16mg daily)…both medications are prescribed monthly, legally, and monitored by my prescribing doctor who also tests me regularly on a 12 panel test… I have not taken ANY other medications or drugs; whether illegally or by Rx….I keep coming up negative on the panel tests, but with probation I keep coming up FALSE POSITIVE for Oxycontin only.
The judge doesnt believe there is any chance for a false positive, and to be honest I am trying to advocate for myself by getting hair analysis testing, blood, urine lab tests but the court system is not open to providing further testing even if I pay for it myself and go to a court appointed lab, they will not test except for instant tests to see whether there is or isnt any drugs in my system… they are going by the stick test alone and I could be spending a long time incarcerated (9+ months) based on that test.
I am scared, confused and I dont know why or how this is happening…all I know is I have NOT used any opiates or anything in over a year, and I need any help I can get to advocate for myself because its falling upon deaf ears and I am scared to death. If anyone else has experienced this please let me know any references to information or websites, etc. I have court TOMORROW and I know I have been clean, my doctor knows, etc…why can suboxone cause false positives and has anyone ever had to clear this issue up in their lives? PLEASE HELP ANYWAY YOU CAN WITH ANY INFORMATION as I am doing the best I have ever done with my sobriety, my treatment, and my life…and I am getting punished for something I have not done. Any help is GREATLY appreciated…Thank you all.. God bless.

Does kratom up as a false positive for opiates or show up at all on a gc/ms test?

AskDocWeb: Kratom (Mitragyna speciosa) doesn’t show up on the standard drug tests in the USA but it may in other countries. Kratom is a leaf harvested from a tree in the Rubiaceae family native to Southeast Asia. It has been traditionally used for its psychoactive properties in Thailand and Malaysia, although it is now illegal in these countries.

False positives in regard to lidocaine showing up as cocaine can happen and did happen to me and hell i dont use cocaine. Long after i was terminated, the company that fired me for a positive test later began passing out handout pamphlets alerting employees to turn in all dental procedures immediately. Fact is they found out that this type error does occur even with gcms testare administered, but they did not hire me back. Shame on all of you wicked employers.

Subj: Cold medicine?

Took a CPS mouth swab drug test and I was baffled to see that amphetamines came up as a faint line positive. I know for a fact that the entire test should’ve come out 100% negative, but afterwards I asked my Dad, an M.D. why he thinks it was false positive and he believes that the Walmart cold medicine I took hours before testing has caused this. Please confirm that this is true. What should I do? He says to ask them for an actual UA that is sent to a lab because this was a mouth swab with no supervision or bag, no timer, and no recording of any sort. Seems very unprofessional.

I tested positive for meth, but take alot of pysc meds. Desoyn, and adderall. Would this be the cause of the positive reading on my ua?

AskDocWeb: Adderall is an amphetamine and some urine drug tests don’t make a distinction between amphetamines and methamphetamines.
Subj: Tramadol test positive for methadone

I too tested positive for methadone yesterday on a drug screening when the only “drug” I have taken is tramadol. I do not understand this at all. How is this possible?

AskDocWeb: Although Tramadol (Ultram) and methadone are both opioids, we have found no documentation to show that Tramadol might show up as methadone.
Subj: Tested positive for THC

Hello I work for LOWES in NJ and they do saliva tests. I had been out because of server panic and anxiety attacks. When i came back I wanted workmans comp. to get my money back without having to use sick days and holiday pay. I had to take a test and I a doctor representing Lowes said I tested positive for THC. I don’t know how? I only took my ativan that morning and double the amount recommended for ibuprofan and used listorene that morning how is this possible?

AskDocWeb: Ibuprofen has shown up a false positive for Marijuana (THC) (References 1, 3, 16, 18, and 29) but that was on urine drug tests. We would like to research the saliva tests for false positives but don’t have the resources to do that.

I recently took a urine test and it came back positive for hydrocodone. I do not take pain pills all I take is stacker 2 pills and drink energy drinks. Is there any way those things would make a urine test positive for hydrocodone?

I want to know why I’m testing positive for benzodiazepines and I am only been taking suboxone and prozac and its affecting my recovery. Do you know why?

AskDocWeb: Sorry Moose, neither drug has caused a false positive for benzodiazepines. Prozac has shown up as a false positive for amphetamines but not benzodiazepines.
Subj: Hair test?

I tested positive for cocaine in a urine test. I have never taken cocaine so I did a hair test in a lab and it show negative on all drugs. I recently had my wisdom teeth pulled and was given amoxicillin and tylenol with codeine. Could either of them have caused the false positive in my urine and how accurate is a hair test?

AskDocWeb: Sorry Ginger, we don’t have the funds to pursue research in hair testing. There are several sources that say amoxicillin has shown up as false positives for cocaine (References 13, 16, 18, 20, 21, 26, and 29).

My son just came up positive for marijuana, his probation officer states it looks like he tried to cover it up, I do know that his test was last minute and he had no chance to get a cover up. He states that he did not smoke but he was around his friends that were smoking..he did have a b…

AskDocWeb: If he was around others that were smoking marijuana, in a closed car for example, he could easily have inhaled enough to show up on a drug screen.

I just tested positive for amphetamines. I have been clean & sober for 30 years. While I anxiously await lab results the ONLY thing I can think of is I take a multi vitamin w/calcium/iron/zinc, St. Johns Wort and I had JUST had a flu shot. This may cost me a job at a treatment center. Please advise & thank you!
