Sertraline hcl

Perphenazine and buspirone

I took a UA for DHS and it came back as invalid and the only thing I take is perphenazine and buspirone could this have caused this?

AskDocWeb: Both of those have shown up as false positives but neither has been reported to invalidate a test result.
False UI test for benzodiazepines?

My husband is taking Zoloft and Depakote. Them two drugs together can they give you a false UI test of benzodiazepines?

AskDocWeb: According to Redwood Toxicology Laboratory, a lab that does drug testing, Zoloft may test positive for benzodiazepines (See reference: 33). People with diabetes should be aware that Depakote (valproate semisodium) can cause a false positive result in urine tests for ketones. However, Depakote has not shown up on urine tests as a false positive for any drug of abuse.

This page (False Positives) was very useful in my situation and relieved some worrying on my part. I failed a urinalysis for THC and I have not used marijuana for over three years. I use Advil PM, Aleve and a host of supplements for weightlifting. I am currently waiting on the results from the confirmation test and in waiting it is driving me crazy. Thanks…

Birth control pills?

I am currently on 70mg of methadone daily. For the past 2 months I have popped positive for benzodiazepines. I havent took nothing over the counter besides ibuprofen. But I did start taking Orthro Tri Cyclen Lo about 3 months ago. There has been times where I would miss my pills 2 to 3 days in a row and then take all the ones I’ve missed as soon as I remember. So I was wondering if a high dose of birth control would show positive for benzodiazepines? Or could it have something to do with my kidneys or health?

AskDocWeb: To our knowledge there are no Birth control pills that would show up on a urine drug test for drugs of abuse. Those with kidney disease or infection have sometimes tested false positive for cocaine, amphetamines, THC, ecstasy, and opiates but not for benzodiazepines. If you haven’t taken any benzodiazepines then getting a confirmation test should clear your record.

Methyldopa Beware!!- I was prescribed Methyldopa while I was pregnant and tested positive for methamphetimines. After my UA being retested, it was verified that it was indeed a false-positive due to me taking Methyldopa.

AskDocWeb: Yours is the fourth report about Methyldopa showing up as a false positive on urine drug tests (see Julie (Nurse), post by C, and post from Shannon). Aldomet does have many features similar in structure to amphetamine.

Hi, I’m am on istril gabapentin and resperodone and i am also taking phenalbarbital can any of these show up a false positive for benzos?

AskDocWeb: Phenobarbital (INN) or phenobarbitone (former BAN) is a barbiturate so the test result is not a false positive.
Acyclovir and prescreening drug test

Hello, I just this afternoon had to take a mouth swab prescreening drug test for a ne job. The first test came out blank…no results, whatsoever. So they took another one…they said it was inconclusive. So they did a third…also inconclusive. I am not a drug user..period! Never have been. The only meds that I have had in my system recently has been Tylenol for headaches and Acyclovir for a coldsore. Could Acyclovir cause a mouthswab test to have an inconclusive result? I am going tomorrow for a urine test, but worry it will show up in there as well. Is this something I should worry about?

AskDocWeb: You can relax, Acyclovir does not show up on any type of drug test for drugs of abuse. It sounds like they may have received a batch of bad tests. That’s rare but it is possible.
Begging for help

I’ve had 3 back surgeries and have recently been sent to a pain management clinic. I’m taking opanas, oxycodone, xanax, neurotin, and I’m on thyroid medication, blood pressure. I take A drug test every month and dr says I have valium in my me and no xanax at all.how is that possible..i have not had any valium how could or what would cause false positive I have no access to valium. My dr told me I was lying and talk to me worse than anyone has ever talk to please help me there has to be a reason for that imitest to com back that way im begging for someone to help me make some sense of this mess, can you help me a drug test .xanaxin my system that I tested positive.

AskDocWeb: The only way to accurately measure exactly what is and is not in your system is to get a confirmation test using either a Gas Chromatograph/Mass Spectrometer (GC/MS) or Liquid Chromatography with tandem Mass Spectrometry (LC/MS/MS). Those tests are much sensitive than a simple urine test. Some can detect and identify substances as small as 10 parts per billion, and they are considered proof by the legal system. A confirmation test will prove that you are guilty or innocent.

Morphine sulfate?

Is it possible that taking morphine sulfate would result in a positive test for Oxymorphone, or does Oxy only indicate Oxycodone?

AskDocWeb: “Oxy” is short for many things; oxycodone, oxycontin, oxygen, or even epoxy. However, it sounds like you are referring to a recently published claim that morphine is metabolized to hydromorphone and then to Oxymorphone. That turns out to be untrue. Based on a study at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Oxymorphone is not a metabolite of morphine or hydromorphone. (Source: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18430301)
Norco

I was taking Norco it came back as an Amphetamine in a blood test. Does Norco have Amahetamine in it?

AskDocWeb: There is no amphetamine in Norco. Norco is a combination of Hydrocodone Bitartrate and Acetaminophen. The inactive ingredients include croscarmellose sodium, crospovidone, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, povidone, pregelatinized starch, and stearic acid.
