Body Enhancement Capsules

Okay, My daughter & I recently gave blood to the American Red Cross. I received a letter yesterday that my daughter showed a false positive result. Would taking Body Enhancement Capsules/ Elemis cause this? I’m so worried. Any insight to this would be very helpful. Thanks.

Adderall, fluticasone, or NoHist?

Is there anyway that adderall, fluticasone, or nohist could cause a false positive on hair folicale drug test?

AskDocWeb: NoHist contains Phenylephrine, which has caused false positives for amphetamines (References: 3, 18, and 57).

HCG oral drops

I tested positive for steroids on a drug test. When I called she asked had I been going thru menapause and did I have any prescriptions. The answer was no. However I have been dieting and used HCG oral drops. She told me the test showed testestrone evelvation. I guess this is what body builder use to build muscle mass. I bought HCG for my dieting efforts. It is the only thing I can think of that caused this maybe. I could possible loose my job over this. Could this HCG supplement have caused my positive test for steroids? I have not taken anything else escept relicore diet supplement. Both I bought at a local drug store.

Hydromorphone

I am in the army and just failed a urine test for hydromorphone, I am prescribed oxycontin, ibuprofen, cyclobenzapine and norco, could any of those cause that reading?

Cause of meth positive

I recently went to the Emergency Room for Sharp pain in my left side of my ribs. They ask for urine. And when they came back in they had told me that I can out positive for meth. Also that day I was at football practice and I got dehydrated. Can the dehydration, cause of the meth positive?

Thanks for the info on metformin HCL. Most of u take 500 mg, I take 1000mg a day. Showed this to my employer and I’m back to work!

False reading for THC

Took a drug test for a job today and it came back positive for thc. Haven’t smoked in years. I take orudis and celebrex for my cronick knee pain. Will orudis and celebrex give you a false reading of thc in my body

AskDocWeb: Celebrex wouldn’t cause any problems with urine drug testing but according to a Toxicology Lab Technical Brief from Dr. Joseph Graas, Orudis (ketoprofen) may test false positive for THC. (Source: Medical Assisted Treatment of America)

Drug test

A couple of years ago I took a drug test for a job. Mind you im 27 years old at the time, never used drugs, but they did a mouth swab that came back positive for anphetimaines (spell check) the only thing I can think of is two nights previous I drank some of one can of four loco. A friend of mine said it could have even been the gum I was chewing that morning while waiting to be tested. (doublemint) what may have it been?

AskDocWeb: It is highly unlikely that the gum would cause a false positive and there are no reports of that. There are however, about 145 other possible causes for amphetamine false positives.

Positive for Barbiturates

I do not do illegal drugs! I took an inhouse drug test at my new job today it was one of those instant tests and came back positive for Barbiturates the only medication i currently take is Apritab birth control. I used to take prozac but haven’t for a month or two now. Why is this coming up positive?

AskDocWeb: Prozac is in a class of antidepressants called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs. It would not show up as a barbiturate. Some of the longer acting barbiturates can be detected for up to 30 days after discontinuing use but if you haven’t used any, your test result is likely a false positive. You need to do a confirmation test on the original sample in order to find out if it is or not.

Positive drug screen for alcohol

I am a paitent at a methadone clinic for 12 yrs. Been clean on all drug screens, until now. I had a positive for alcohol & I do not drink. I believe I have 2 factors that may have given the false positive. 1. I had emergency surgery on 07/04/12 to remove my infected gall bladder. 2nd. I had a yeast infection on the date the urine drug screen was collected 07/23/12. My question is how can I have a positive drug screen for alcohol, when I do not ever drink alcohol. Thank you.

I was taking OxyElite Pro without realizing that it contained 1,3 dimethylamylamine. I stopped taking it immediately and I need to take a drug test next Wednesday. At that point, it will be 25 days since I stopped taking it. Do you think I have anything to worry about or will I still test positive for amphetamine use?

AskDocWeb: It appears that dimethylamylamine and other amphetamine like substances can be detected from 24 to 72 hours after discontinuing so you should be okay.

CPS hair follicle test

I came back positive for cocaine on hair follicle test,, I haven’t used cocaine in ten yrs or more and it was occasional, rare, I’ve had dental sx. A lot this try. And then two months ago and took a lot of surgery antibiotic, thing is it’s for cps, and obviously they could do real harm to my son and I, any ideas how u came back positive?

Rockstar energy drinks

I am writing u to ask u if it is possible for an instant drug screen to show up p(false) positive for amphetamines by drinking energy drinks such as rockstar. If so will the lab correct this if it is truly a mistake?

AskDocWeb: While some of the ingredients in Rockstar energy drinks are controversial none of them have been reported to show up on urine drug tests. When a lab conducts a confirmation test on a positive urine sample, they do that in order to correct false positives.

Sleeping pills?

I had a drug test on thursday and it showed up i had meth in my system.The last couple of nights before the test i took over the counter sleeping pills, will that show up in my urine test?

AskDocWeb: So far the only sleeping pill to show up on urine drug tests for drugs of abuse is Triazolam, also known by the brand name Halcion. This is because it is in the class of medications known as benzodiazepines (benzos). None have shown up as meth.

Sleeping pills that do NOT show up on drug tests for drugs of abuse include Eszopiclone (Lunesta), Ramelteon (Rozerem), Zaleplon (Sonata), and Zolpidem (Ambien).
