Positive for meth

I just had hair follicle test for meth, it is clean. I paid extra to go back six months. My back had a stool test that says positive for meth, born last week. I was given Epherdine during delivery because my blood pressure crashed. How does this happen. Report says stool had 698ng/mil, how much is that?

AskDocWeb: The molecular structure of Ephedrine is similar to the (semi-synthetic) derivatives amphetamine and methamphetamine. It is a structural methamphetamine analogue. It differs from methamphetamine only by the presence of a hydroxyl (OH). Several sources say that it may be mistaken for meth as well as for amphetamine or Ecstasy (References: 3, 11, 16, 18, 29, 32 and 57). According to federal guidelines, confirmation testing should show at least 250 ng/ml of meth metabolite before a person is considered positive.

Ephedrine is widely used during labor to prevent or to treat maternal arterial hypotension (low blood pressure).

Cellucor m5 or cellucor P6?

I was found positive for methamphetamine after using cellucor m5. This is the new formula that should not have DMAA. What can it be? The only other thing that I’m using is cellucor P6.

AskDocWeb: Checking the ingredients of Cellucor P6 turned up the following list:

  • Agaricus Bisporus Extract
  • Cimicifuga Racemosa or Black Cohosh
  • Dihydroxy Diosgenin
  • Eurycoma longifolia extract
  • Ovine Placenta Powder (from sheep)
  • Sclareolide
  • ß-Sitosterol
  • 3,4-divanillyltetrahydrofuran
  • Silicon dioxide
  • Magnesium stearate
  • Tribulus terrestris

None of the above have been reported to cause a false positive for methamphetamine. The only ingredient on that list that has shown up in the drug testing research is tribulus terrestris. The active chemical in tribulus terrestris is protodioscin, a relative to DHEA, which has been reported to cause a false positive for anabolic steroids (Reference: 13).

Vanilla flavored cigars?

I just took a ua and came up dirty for k2 and thc. i’ll admit that i used to smoke alot of pot but i’m clean 6 months now. why would my test still be coming up dirty? the only thing that i can think of that’s different is that i smoked some vanilla flavored cigars last week. could that be it?

AskDocWeb: It is impossible to say without knowing the ingredients in your vanilla flavored cigars. Is that a commercially made product or homemade?

I have been seeing a doctor for a couple of years and have been on a weight loss program through his office this year. I had just started my second round of b12/lipotronic shots and phentermine a couple of weeks ago. Last friday when I showed up for my shot, they asked for a urine sample and charged me 65.00 that I didnt expect. Today I get a letter that they are dismissing me from their practice due to positive test for drugs that my dr. didnt prescribe. Very upset, I called to find out what was going on because I dont take anything except vitamins/supplements that are listed on my information sheet there and the meds he prescribes.

At first they told me i tested positive for a seizure medicine and I reminded them that we had tried nuvigil for my sudden sleep problems. They admitted that then said that I also tested positive for marijuana. It is simply not possible, This dr. has me feeling better than I have in years. I would not risk that for anything or mess with the mix. Not to mention, since I am able to go back to work now, I am job hunting and might get drug tested. I was very careful not to mess that up. The list of meds I have been taking that he prescribed are: Xanax, fluoxetine, diclofenac, phentermine, butalbital, nuvigil and the B12/lipotronic shots and an allergy spray that I cant read the name on (just started it this month). Was not taking nuvigil after I started back on the phentermine and shots. I also take Iodine Plus2 for low thyroid type symptoms, chromium picolinate, vitamin D3, Magnesium Maleate, Ginko Biloba, hyurlonic acid and i before i got the allergy spray and the antiinflamitory meds, I took a lot of excedrin back and body and otc allergy meds. I have fibromyalgia, migraines, depression, anxiety and some knee issues.

I have lost from a size 18 to a size 10 while on the weight loss. I want to know how I tested positive for marijuana when it has been quite some over a year since I used it. I didnt need it once I started the meds. I also want to know since he is dismissing me and I have to find another dr, am I going to have trouble getting treated? This has blindsided me and I don’t need to go off of my meds. Please help me.

Going to have a drug test

I am having to be drug tested at my work in two weeks…i have prescriptions for adderall, lamotrigine, prilosec, and cipro, and prescription for 600mg ibuprofen for cramps due to cyst on ovary…i was diagonosed with stomach cancer 9 months ago…can chemo or any of the medications show a false positive?

AskDocWeb: We recommend you carry a printed list with you of all the prescription medications you are taking. False positives are always possible with the current urine tests and it is important to disclose the medications you are on so that if anything shows up you are covered. It is also helpful to find out what procedure the workplace has for dealing with false positives on urine tests. Do they confirm results or not? If confirmation tests are allowed, who pays for it? In some cases the individual being tested must pay in advance for the confirmation test but is reimbursed if the results come back negative. A confirmation test is generally recommended upon positive results from a urine test but unfortunately it is not required in all case and in some cases it is not even an option.

Tested positive for THC

I had a mouth swab test for a new job today and the test came back negative for all things except thc, it tested positive for this. I am taking fluticasone proionate nasal spray for my allergies as well as iron because my doctor said I was slightly anemic, prenatal vitamins because I am 5 1/2 months pregnant and syn-thyroid for my lack of a thyroid gland. Could any of these medications cause a false positive for thc because I am not a drug uses and this looks really bad being that I work in the medical field.

AskDocWeb: None of those medications have been reported to show up as THC however, that doesn’t rule out a false positive. To do that and clear up your record you will probably need a confirmation test, preferable one from a different lab that is certified by SAMHSA.

Failing for THC

I’m in an alchol program 4 mnths now I gave up weed over a yr ago my ua’s are clean for alchol but failing for thc and i cant figure out why….im 50 with IBS..taking bentyl benadryl and aleive…ive sufered near renal failure and have abnormal pancreatic enzymes yet to he explained..my program is threatening to boot me unless i fess up to smoking they disagree with any research about nsaids and false positve is there any arguement or proven acceptable reaearch out there…there are no courts involved just my finishing treatment to stay sober. Please help.
