Kratom
Date: 5/22/2006
Im going in for a union drug test soon the only thing that is in my system is kratom.. I know they do urine test and mouth swabs.. I know that suboxin shows on the test as an opiate even though it’s an opiode and i heard that kratom shows as an opiode.. My question is will it show on a urine or mouth swab as a negative for opiates or opiodes or maybe even a false positive for both?
Al
AskDocWeb: Kratom leaf (Mitragyna speciosa) is native to Southeast Asia and is banned there but so far it is legal here. According to the DEA Kratom can lead to addiction. At low doses users report alertness and energy and at high doses, the drug produces sedative effects. It has not been reported to show up on drug tests.
Allegra or Benadryl?
Date: 5/22/2006
I am in a pain management program. I am currently prescribed Gabapentin, MS Contin, Lortab, Cymbalta, Savella, and Skelaxin. I tested trace positive for Demerol on a recent urine drug screen as a part of my pain management program. I have absolutely not taken Demerol. I have recently taken Allegra and Benadryl for sinus symptoms. Could either of these drugs cause a false positive for Demerol?
Deborah
AskDocWeb: Not according to the data we have gathered so far, which lists nothing that would show up as a false positive for Demerol.
Levaquin
Date: 5/23/2006
I noticed on your site you told someone that levaquin couldn’t show up as a positive. I have a link for you that states that it can. It appears to be a trust worthy site. Levaquin® (Fluoroquinolone) – false positive for opiates Levofloxacin (Fluoroquinolone antibiotic) – false positives for opiates http://atwatchdog.lefora.com/2012/10/10/drug-screenssubstances-that-may-cause-a-false-posi/
Teresa
AskDocWeb: That is an old copy of our own list, which is copyright infringement (not so trustworthy). Although they deleted most of the references, if you hover your mouse over some of the links in that list you’ll see that they lead back to our website. Originally Levaquin was reported to cause a false positive but since that could not be documented it was removed from the list.

AskDocWeb: Fluocinonide Cream is a topical adrenocortical steroid. It is not known to show up on urine drug tests for drugs of abuse.
Laundry soap?
Date: 5/23/2006
I have seen on the web were powdered Laundry soap came up as positive on a feild test for meth.is this posible? Can it show up positive in a crime lab? How is meth tested for in a crime lab and how accurate is the testing. Does the amount tested have any bearing on the results say testing…05grams
Dan
AskDocWeb: To our knowledge there is no laundry soap sold in America that would test positive for meth. However, there is a possibility that someone with meth might contaminate laundry soap, which could end up in the hands of an unknowing consumer. Last year there were several news articles about meth dealers selling stolen laundry soap, especially Tide. It appears that stealing laundry soap and selling it to consumers is a profitable side-line as the soap often costs $10 to $20 a bottle.
Hospitalized for appendix
Date: 5/27/2006
I Was In The Hospital For My Appendix.. I Didnt Have Surgery But I Was Prescribed Zofran, NorCo, And Dicyclomine For A Month. And When I Was In The Hospital I Was Givin Different Medication Including Morphine.. I Took A Drug Test 2 Weeks After I Was Released. Is There A Way I Could Have Tested Positive For Anything
Jacob
AskDocWeb: Morphine can be detected in the urine for up to 3 days but since you have taken other drugs there is always the possibility of a false positive. They are supposed to take that in to account when evaluating the results of a urine test. Remember, when in doubt, get a confirmation test.
Urine test question
Date: 5/28/2006
I take Endocet 10/325, Tramadol 50mg, Lyrica 50mg and Morphine 15mg. Can any of these show up in a urine test?
Ann
AskDocWeb: Tramadol (Ultram) may test false positive for phencyclidine (PCP) and/or methadone (References: 62, 63), and 64). Morphine will show positive for opiates. Be sure to tell the people doing the test about all prescription medication and herbal products that you are taking.

Mark
AskDocWeb: It sounds like you might need to go over someone’s head about this. Whoever you are dealing with, talk to their boss (if possible) and tell them that the signature on drug screen is not yours. Good luck.
Propylene glycol?
Date: 5/30/2006
Will propylene glycol give positive test results on an alcohol drug screen?
Carrie
AskDocWeb: Although Propylene glycol is just one of the many organic chemicals that fall into the broad chemical classification known as “alcohols” it is not known to show up in drug screening for alcohol. The EtG test tests for ethyl glucuronide, the metabolite for ethyl alcohol. When Propylene glycol is metabolized it does not produce ethyl glucuronide. Propylene glycol is metabolized primarily to lactic and pyruvic acids, although a large proportion (20-30%) of a dose is excreted unchanged in urine. If you have any doubts about anything you are taking you can always list it when they ask what medications you are taking.
Is the lab test 100% accurate?
Date: 5/30/2006
I am in a treatment court program that requires out patient. I took a suboxone test and came up positive i had the counseler put in three seperate tests to prove i did not take anything and all three came up positive. I had them send the urine to the lab is the lab test 100% accurate? i will have to go to jail if it comes back positive and im sure i did not take anything.
Mike
AskDocWeb: The accuracy of the lab depends on which lab you are referring to. Certified labs are almost 100% accurate but not all labs are certified. The typical private employer may use any lab s/he chooses, which could be the least expensive. Businesses don’t always use a certified lab that follows up a positive screening with a GC/MS confirmation test.
