Negative THC result?
is there a medication for high blood pressure that wil caus a negative thc result?
AskDocWeb: To our knowledge there is no blood pressure medication that would cause a negative THC result.
Can rescue Remedy cause a positive alcohol breath test?
AskDocWeb: You need to check the label for alcohol in the ingredients of your “Rescue Remedy.” There is an alcohol-free version on the market. If it is not alcohol-free then it may show up on a breath test.
False positives on GC/MS test?
I had to do a blood and urine test for a false allegation by a pt that I stole her meds. They are saying I came up positive for hydrocodone, hydro morphine, and morphine. I’m allergic to morphine and lortab. I take Percocet daily, soma, gabapentin and restoril for peripheral neuropathy. Can these meds come up as false positives on gc testing?
AskDocWeb: No. They would not come up as false positives on a GC/MS test.
Mifepristone – Cytotec
Im about to take the abortion pills Mifepristone and Cytotec. I have urine drug screening test done all week and it is usually done with a dipstick BUT if anything registers they send it to a lab and have it analyzed. Is there a chance it could create a false positive on a dipstick that checks for THC, COC, OPIOIDS, METH, BENZOS???
AskDocWeb: Misoprostol belongs to the class of drugs called synthetic prostaglandins. There are no reports of it showing up as any kind of false positive on urine screens for drugs of abuse.
I am currently in an outpatient program for drugs and alcohol and have hep c. I haven’t smoked pot since 6/5/13 and first test was at 300. I’ve been testing weekly and recently was told that my level went from 12 to 141 ! is there any reasons for this because I haven’t doIe anything other than take 40mg of Prilosec daily. also I have had hep c since 1989 would that have any effect on drug urine screens?
AskDocWeb: Hepatitis C would not affect the results of a urine test for drugs of abuse. However, Prilosec and PPIs in general may test positive for THC (Reference 37) but only on the original drug screen. Such false positives are eliminated by GC/MS testing.
Testing for etg with EIA
I tested positive for etg through the screening test EIA. I immediately requested the follow up confirmation test, LC/MS. I had not had a drop of alcohol in over 2 months (I’m testing for divorce court because my ex is an alcoholic and accused me of drinking as well, which I fully admit but I drink like a normal responsible adult, i.e. a glass of wine with dinner or when socializing. Unlike him which is one to two fifths of vodka a day). I actually had a negative result on 6/26 and the next day took another etg test and tested positive for etg (less than 24 hours later).
The ONLY thing I could think of was that on the evening of 6/26, I sprayed out my city trash cans with a ton of Lysol. The lab told me it was highly unlikely that incidental exposure from the Lysol would cause the positive because their cut off level was 500ng. Well, guess what, it did, my LC/MS came back negative. I really think their cut off level needs to be raised even higher because from the research I’ve done, one drink can put your etg nanograms as high as 6000 so how can they justify a cut off of 500 for alcohol. Much more research needs to be done. I believe physique plays a role as well. I’m 5’10” and only weigh 115. My absorption rate from incidental exposure is most likely a lot different than a big burly man. Anyway, those of you testing for etg with EIA, STAY AWAY FROM LYSOL, IT HAS A TON OF ETHANOL IN IT!
Cellucor c4 preworkout?
Has anyone every tested positive for marijuana while taking cellucor c4 preworkout? It says on the container it can cause for false/positives with drug test. I have NOT smoked marijuana. Also, is it possible to pass a test for marijuana then 4 days later fail it then 2 days after that pass it??? Something weird is going on and I cant explain it. HELP!!
AskDocWeb: Are you sure that it states on the container that it may cause false positives with drug tests? That runs counter to what we have heard from Cellucor:
“C4 Extreme will not cause you to test positive for an illegal stimulant. Prior to the allegation that C4 Extreme was responsible for two members of the armed forces testing positive for a prohibited stimulant, Cellucor had never received a single report of C4 Extreme causing a positive drug test, despite hundreds of thousands of units sold on military bases across the country, through exchanges and GNC military stores. Cellucor submitted information to the military, along with a report from a renowned analytical laboratory indicating that they tested samples of C4 Extreme and no stimulants were detected. Cellucor has been circulating this information to all of the appropriate parties in the military but unfortunately there seems to continue to be misinformation spreading to the individual bases. If you have any concerns or questions you can email me at email@example.com.”
Military drug tests
i recently joined the military and im going to be randomly given drug tests for the rest of my career. I am training now for when i ship out to basic and, at the moment, I am taking pre-workout supplements. One of my favorites is called Nano Vapor form muscletech. the ingredients are L-citrulline malate 2,667mg beta-alanine (carnosyn)- 1067mg betanine anhydrous- 833 mg quercetin 67 mg pausinystalia yohimbe (supplies yohimbine and rauwolscine-37.5mg creatine monohydrate- 1667mg taurine 1500mg l-theanine- 50mg I am not taking it right now but I have in the past and would take two scoops. one serving or twice the serving cause a false positive in a drug test?
AskDocWeb: Not sure which branch of the military you joined (thanks for your service!) but most if not all now have lists of supplements and substances that might cause problems on drug tests. To be safe we would not take any supplement until after comparing its ingredients to those on that list.
