Subj: Shen Min
Date: 2/18/2007
Hi. I was wondering what made you guys include ShenMin for Men in your scam list. Does the product not work or is there another reason? Please let me know because I was going to purchase a 3 month supply until I saw this list of scam products. Thanks,

Thomas

AskDocWeb: Here’s why we think it as a scam.

Subj: Zulvera
Date: 2/25/2007
I’m 38 years old and fight hair loss for years now. It is most likely a symptom of my PCOS. Has anybody ever tried a herbal shampoo called “Zulvera”? And how did it work for you? I’m really hoping to find someone who tried it since the company is based in India and I really don’t want to lose time and money. Thank you,

Eva

Subj: Concerned about adverse affects
Date: 3/3/2007
My husband has been using the 5% Rogaine solution for about six or seven years. We are currently in the process of getting pregnant via In-vitro. Should we be concerned about adverse affects to the specimen required for fertilization?

Amy

AskDocWeb: No, there are no adverse affects related to conceiving or pregnancy.

Subj: Viviscal
Date: 3/9/2007
Hi! Is it safe to use VIVISCAL for thinning hair…if its safe, then how long I suppose to use…what once I stopped of using it after 4- 6 months…please do reply,

Alx

AskDocWeb: We haven’t looked at Viviscal yet. Hopefully some users will share their opinions or experience.

Subj: Using provillus
Date: 3/11/2007
I just started using provillus, but I’m seeing a lot of positive feedback on this site about procerin and I’m feeling like I should switch… is this a good idea? I really want to get results and put a stop to my receding hairline.

Chuck

AskDocWeb: We would rather you stick with a product for at least three months, preferably six months, to find out if it works for you. And then share your experience here so that others can benefit.

Subj: Zulvera
Date: 3/13/2007
In my search for help with female androgenetic alopecia, I came across a web site which rated the product ‘Herbal Hair Shampoo’- Zulvera- as their #1 – most effective hair loss/hair regrowth product that they supposedly researched. Have you/anyone ever heard of this? Can a reliable study be done on it for women? I’d love any recommendation or comments. Also, will your study/review on Nisim include women? Thanks for your help!

In desperate need of relief from ‘female pattern baldness!!!’

AskDocWeb: Zulvera is too new to have a track record. Please take a look at our page on scams, it will give you a few pointers about recognizing a scam.

Subj: Thank you

Thank you very much for sharing information! This is a very useful website. I am thinking of using Procerin. I will post my result soon.

Subj: Confused by taking Propecia with Rogaine
Date: 3/17/2007
Well I was on propecia and 5% rogaine because I noticed my hair was thinning all over. After about 3 to 4 months my hair was so thick and I was very happy. I would even take a shower and pull my hair to see if hairs would fall out, but nothing, it was strong. I didn’t know what was actually making my hair grow back or thicker. I figured that the propecia was the one that was working since it was clearly the more expensive alternative so I dropped the rogaine to save money. (STUPID ME) 5 more months later my hair loss got worse. Scared of the outcome I jumped back on Rogaine to get my hair back. It’s been about a month and a half since I restarted the rogaine/ propecia combo and my hair is extremely thicker only after I apply the rogaine but my hair is shedding big-time and I am scared that my hair isn’t really growing back and that it’s just getting thick with the rogaine. It takes about 2 to 4 months for your hair to grow back with rogaine, making me think that rogaine isn’t making my hair grow back but just making it thick. Its making me wonder about 2 things was the propecia really making my hair grow and become thicker in the beginning and my body just got use to the dosage and stopped working. Or was the propecia never really working at all and that the rogaine gave a false sense that my hair is growing back. I don’t know what to take anymore and I heard that Procerin is a fake drug with fake websites and fake reviews. Is this true?

Tom

AskDocWeb: No, the website that says Procerin is a fake drug also tells other lies. Procerin is NOT a drug and the company that makes it has never claimed that it was anything other than a supplement. There is nothing fake about it.

Your confusion about taking Propecia with Rogaine is exactly why we recommend taking only one hair loss product at a time until you know what its effects are on you. About the only thing you can do is to stop using one of them for three months and hope you discontinued the right one. At the end of three months you should be able to tell if you made the right choice or not.

Subj: Found hair loss
Date: 3/21/2007
I am renal patient, ASper biopsy “fetures are suggested for IGA nephropathy” I taking a daily Losar 50 Two time. I have found hair loss (Approx. 50%) from 5 to 6 months that the front are of my head. My age is 35 Please suggest medicine for me.

Sunil

AskDocWeb: If your hair loss is caused by a drug it is likely to continue as long as you are taking that drug, in which case taking a hair loss product would not do any good.

Subj: Nourkin tablets
Date: 3/30/2007
I have been told that I have androgenetic alopecia. I have been recommended Rogaine for women. I find this makes the hair very greasy and also makes my head itch. I have started to take Kelp tablets and was wondering if Nourkin tablets are effective for hair loss. I would appreciate any feed back on the Nourkin tablets.

Diane

AskDocWeb: The Nourkin tablets are new and there haven’t yet been any reports of results with that product.

Subj: Saini
Date: 3/31/2007
Have you had people get results from Saini herb natural hair product. I use it and my hair drop out rate went down to under 10 when using this product.

Rick

AskDocWeb: Sorry, no feedback on Saini yet. Please be wary of companies that say their product gives permanent results. If true, this product from India would be the only one in the world, which would make it big news, but it is not.

Subj: Hair thinning at 29
Date: 4/4/2007
My daughter is 29 years old and has had diabetes mellitus since she was 10 years old. She has been experiencing a fairly dramatic generalized hair thinning (she had very thick hair as a child) She recently had a thyroid profile done which showed a normal TSH and a Low T4. Could this still indicate hypothyroidism? She also is not a well-controlled diabetic. Hgb A1C is generally about 8.5 or higher. She saw an endocrinologist and asked about her hair loss and he commented it was probably inherited. He is not yet aware of the new thyroid results. Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.

Donna

AskDocWeb: A dermatologist may be able to help but you need to tell them about her medical condition and any drugs she may be taking.

Subj: HairMax LaserComb
Date: 4/28/2007
Has anyone tried the HairMax Lasercomb? For myself, it’s very tempting since it’s FDA approved and there’s no drugs or side effects involved. It apparently got approved because it’s a tech. breakthrough and promotes new hair growth in ALL areas of the scalp, unlike finasteride which doesn’t affect the temples, which is what I need. Maybe I’ll start saving up…

AskDocWeb: Sorry to say that we know of no hair loss treatment for those with PCOS.

Subj: Morocco Method
Date: 5/1/2007
Have you heard of the Morocco Method for Hair using different shampoos, oil, brushing your hair with a special brush? One of my friends has used it and says she has noticed that when she uses it all the time that there are small baby hairs starting to regrow. Can that be possible?

Dianne

AskDocWeb: No we haven’t heard of this one.

Subj: SCALPMED
Date: 5/11/2007
I am in a state of shock about scalpmed being here. I bought it 3 weeks ago and have proof it works! I have stopped crying and losing hair. I see a 30% growth in 4 weeks and will continue to support SCALPMED! It is a fantastic product and it is not for all. Perhaps before knocking a product that has brought back my looks, self esteem not to mention hair, you should see a doctor and see why your balding. I did and was told it was incurable to an immune deficiency caused by EBV (epstien barr virus) so it does work. 100% works. I have photos to prove that in 4 weeks I can show it works! Its not for those with chronic baldness or with a thyroid issue but for women losing hair take it from one who had waist length thick hair who ended up looking like she had chemo and did NOT! It works. I have my confidence back and will not stop using SCALPMED. It is worth every dime and there is no price on my hair coming back. I see 100 new baby hairs growing and see my scalp showing less and less every couple of days. So look into why your balding before you condemn a product that has brought me back and I’m not depressed -crying, sinking into an eating disorder from balding. Its growing and thank you scalp med. I owe it all to you.
