Subj: Treatments for hair loss
Date: 8/2/2007
I am investigating treatments for hair loss and came across Direct Hair Implants (DHI), which is a non surgical option to hair loss, do you have any information on the efficacy of this treatment as I am having difficulty getting independent information on it and did get one disturbing report from an individual I came across in relation to it. Thank you, your website is very informative,

Mick

AskDocWeb: Sorry Mick, no data on them. Maybe a reader will share their experience.

Subj: Follinex?
Date: 8/14/2007
Do you have any opinion about the regrowth product Follinex? There are so many hair loss/regrowth products out there, I’m not sure which one(s) to spend my money on. I’ve read every review possible on most of the products but am still not sure. In your professional opinion, what is the best strategy to take to fight hair loss and promote regrowth?

Jason

AskDocWeb: When last we looked, they weren’t telling what the ingredients were in their product. How can you be sure you are not allergic to one of those ingredients? Without knowing what’s in it, you can’t say, and that’s a problem.

Subj: Nisim?
Date: 8/14/2007
Just wondering is Nisim still the best for hair loss or is there a better one now? Regards,

Ron

AskDocWeb: It’s the best shampoo on the market for hair loss that we know about, if you find a better one please share it.

Subj: Negative side effects
Date: 8/16/2007
I am a 35 year old woman with thinning and very fine long hair. It appears rogaine is the best option. Would my hair change? Could I keep it long? What are the negative side effects that you have heard about? Thanks!

Lainie

AskDocWeb: Yes you can keep your hair long. The side effects are listed
here.

Subj: Sparse on top
Date: 8/20/2007
Over a year ago I had radiation treatements to my head due to malignant tumors in my brain. I am ok, but now I seem to have a reverse mohawk hair pattern growing in. My hair is thick in the back and on the sides, yet very wispy and sparse on top. Will any of the topical lotions help me? I saw an infomercial on Scalpmed last night, but I see that you say that it is basically no different from Minoxidil. Would Rogaine for women help me?

Marsha

AskDocWeb: Yes, it’s certainly worth trying.

Subj: Mintop usage
Date: 8/27/2007
Hi! I have been going through your site and it’s very informative. However I would like to put forth a query. My wife has been using Mintop Solution 2% since 2005 as per our dermatologist’s advice. We initially noticed the hair loss after her delivery in Dec 2004 and consulted a dermatologist who recommended Mintop 2% as it was nearly two years of continuous usage. We recently stopped using it and noticed massive hair loss occurring. We consulted a dermatologist again who suggested Mintop 2% I have few queries please: – Does my wife have to continuously use Mintop? As soon as we stop there occurs massive hair loss. Can we never discontinue the medicine? – Even if we use it continuously, after few years do the drug effectiveness reduce because of constant use? – What is the best dosage application? Please advice.

Arnab

AskDocWeb: She needs to use it every day to keep the benefits. And yes it can lose its effectiveness after time. Just use the product as directed on the package.

Subj: Treatments with minimal side-effects?
Date: 9/3/2007
I’m 22 and am rapidly loosing my hair, I am reluctant to try some supplements as they are associated with various side effects. What are the any treatments with minimal side-effects?

Jay

AskDocWeb: It seems to be a tradeoff, the stronger the medicine, the more side effects. That’s one of the reasons we recommend Procerin. It’s strong enough to be effective for most men but not enough to cause problems.

Subj: Extreme hair loss with RIO
Date: 9/23/2007
I am a woman and I used RIO hair care when it was first introduced and have suffered extreme hair loss. Will Advecia work for me? Or will any products work?

Ms M

AskDocWeb: Thanks for sharing about RIO hair care causing extreme hair loss. Unfortunately there is no way to know ahead of time if a particular product will work for you or not, you’ll just have to try it.

Subj: Provillus?
Date: 9/27/2007
Have You Heard Anything New about the Product Provillus?

Dale

AskDocWeb: Anything new will appear on the
pages for Provillus.

Subj: Provillus research?
Date: 10/3/2007
Many people have been talking hair loss product Provillus. Will you guys do a research on that?

Caleb

AskDocWeb: At this point it does not look likely but you can still read the results of people who try it.

Subj: Don’t know what to do.
Date: 10/9/2007
Hi there, I have started using propecia and the Belgravia Centres 12.5% monoxidil and I also have a lazercoomb. I have used them all like clockwork not missing a single application. I am on my 4 month now and the results are great! Full thickness coming through in the corners of my hairline and its thickening up everywhere. However I seem to go through phases of shedding. I can go about 4 days and seem to barely notice a hair on my pillow and none falls out when I apply the minoxidil. And then I have days were I wake up and there are about 50 hairs on my pillow. I have done lots of research some say shedding is a natural phase and will phase itself out after the year. I don’t really know what to believe?

I actually went to the Belgravia Centre this time last year. My hairloss was not that bad at the time it was just very thin not really that noticeable. I was given a 5% minoxidl and propecia and I did get immediate regrowth but I suffered from the side of propecia and did not want to even try and see the side effects through, I am only 20 and my sex drive means alot to me.

I then gave up the Belgravia Centre after this and made the worst decision of my life signing up to advanced hair studio where I borrowed £2995 to complete a 6 month course of minoxidil and their “lazer treatment” I did not actually think it was going to work. It was just a rash decision and I thought it was the only other option as I did not want to take propecia. My hair growth continued but after about 6 months my hair count started to decrease again! After pulling myself together I did lots of research and realized that the most effective way of keeping your hair was to stick with propecia and minoxidil. So I signed back up to the Belgravia Centre as I have not heard any bad things about them and they seem like they actually care and know what they are doing unlike the vile staff of AHS. Like in my 4th month of the 12.5% and the propecia + lazer coomb my hair is very thick but when should the shedding stop? My sex drive is still not quite the same but I think its just because I am depressed so naturally it would suffer! The Belgravia Centre told me the shedding is normal and is essential to grow new hair, am I being conned again? I really am on the edge here my hair is very important to me and the thought of slowly losing it again makes me feel sick to my stomach! It would mean alot if you could respond as I really don’t know what to do.

Will

AskDocWeb: Unfortunately shedding has been reported with every hair loss product on the market so there is no getting away from that. It just happens periodically. And the choice between having hair and having a sex life is like being caught between a rock and a hard place. Only you can make that choice.

Subj: Provillus or Procerin?
Date: 10/10/2007
Hi, which product would you recommend, Provillus or Procerin? Have read on many sites it’s a scam, plus alot of trouble getting the refund from Provillus!

Dan

AskDocWeb: We recommend Provillus.

Subj: Herbal shampoo scam
Date: 10/12/2007
Zulvera is nothing more than a glorified herbal shampoo with basic ingredients that you would find in a shampoo at a health food store. They changed their formula at the beginning of 2007 and the prodcut is a scam. Don’t buy into this ancient Indian formula crap. The product consists of Arnica, Bay Birch, Chamomile, Coltsfoot, Comfey, Hops, Nettle, Rosemary, Sage, Tea Tree, Witch Hazel, Yucca, Saw Palmetto. Any of these ingredients can be found in a shampoo at your local health food store.

Drew

AskDocWeb: There are also health concerns with interactins between medications and the use of these herbs. See Coltsfoot, Nettle, Coltsfoot, Sage, and Saw Palmetto. Read more feedback. Hair Loss 12 13 14Page 15 16 17 18 Last page 40
