Home Made Herbal Shampoo
Home Made Herbal Shampoo
To make your own herbal shampoo, collect the following ingredients and items:
- 4 oz of castle soap with the scent of your choice, plain, peppermint or eucalyptus.
- 2 cups of distilled water
- 1/2 oz of rosemary
- 1/2 oz of sage
- 1/2 oz of nettles
- 1/2 of lavender
- 2000 mg of MSM
- One 8 oz plastic bottle or an empty shampoo bottle
First mix all the herbs together (Later the extra dry herbs should be stored in a glass container with a tight fitting lid).
Bring the distilled water to a boil and then add 3 heaping tablespoons of the mixed herbs into the boiling water. Mix well and then remove the boiling mixture from the stove. Let the herbal mixture sit for 30 to 40 minutes.
Now add the 2000mg of MSM, mix well and let set another 40 minutes to let the MSM melt.
Strain this herbal brew into a bowl. Pour 2 or 2 1/2 ounces of the strained mixture into the 8 oz plastic bottle. Now, add the 4 ounces of castle soap. Cap the bottle and shake to mix the ingredients and you’re done.
This is a basic formula that you can use to make many different shampoos. As you learn what the various herbs do, you can vary the ingredients according to your taste. But now you have a shampoo that has no additives that can harm you.
Please Note: MSM is an organic sulfur compound that comes in gel, liquid, powder, cream or capsule form. If you are using medications consult your doctor before using MSM (methylsulfonylmethane).
Rosemary is said to stimulate the hair follicles and help prevent premature baldness.
Sage contains antioxidants and is antibacterial. It also keeps things from spoiling.
Nettles act as a blood purifier, a blood stimulator, and is a source of nutrients for hair growth.
Lavender controls the production of sebaceous gland oil and reduces itchy and flaky scalp conditions.
MSM provides organic sulfur to your scalp, which improves the health and strength of your hair. It also aids in the absorption of herbal nutrients into the skin and follicles where they can do the most good.

Subj: Instant result?
Date: 8/8/2010
sir i faced burning on the scalp and too much itching since 3 years my age 24…y it was happened …….plz suggest instant result plz
Ranjith
AskDocWeb: What was the cause of the burning and itching? Was it the result of using a shampoo, using a product on your scalp or was it from a disease? While it is understandable that you want results as fast as possible, to expect instant results is often unrealistic.
Subj: Shelf life of shampoo
Date: 1/30/2011
How long those that shampoo last for before goes bad?? Those it need to be refrigirated?? please let me know…thanks
Katherine
AskDocWeb: Shampoo has no need to be refrigerated. Most shampoos have a long shelf life, some up to five years. The home made product should last at least one year. If the smell or the texture changes then stop using it, but you may find that, in most cases it runs out before it goes bad.
