Be careful with chia seeds
11/10/2012
I am 65 yrs young, I practice alternative health and alternative transportation, chripractors, holistic dentists, i do not run, only mountain bike and cargo bike with 3 bicycles made in Denmark. I have used these for 7 years, riding in snow, ice, rain, beach, mud, water, all year round, recently, i have contacted gerd, i have used ginger beverages, flax milk, hemp, probioitc, and a few others. I have started on chia seeds, it can cause frequent loose bowel movement, be careful. I have tried to minimize its effects, since I have started to use it it does work, but you have to be very careful when using it, in compbination with apple cider vinegar. I also have developed a system that i feel have modernized mounain biking, into the 21st century, too complex to expalin in an email. Hope this helps other people.

Does rosemary oil effect blood pressure?
1/31/2013
Does rosmary oil along with other herbs used for hair loss applied topically to the scalp affect blood pressure in someone who has the condition?
Mary
AskDocWeb: Although the smell of rosemary oil can lower blood pressure in some people, applying it to the skin is not recommended if you have high blood pressure. Not only can rosemary oil increase blood pressure, it can also counteract some medications used to treat high blood pressure, such as ACE inhibitors.

Allergic reaction to senna
Date: 4/22/2006
I have taken senna in the past to help me relieve my constipation and never experienced any problems however tonight I had an allergic reaction. I haven’t taken in a few months but over the past few weeks I had trouble having bowel movement and took two tea bags brewed in probably 2 cups of water in the afternoon. By one am I woke up with severe swelling of face and restriction on breathing; constant sneezing with greenish yellow mucous and swollen neck, nose and left eye. I also had bowel movement. This went on for 20 Minutes, it was a Benadryl that stopped the pain, itching and helped with breathing almost instantly, probably after a minute or two. I had to share this experience and thankful to be able to read on Sena.
Gerri
AskDocWeb: Thanks for letting us know Gerri. It is possible to become sensitive to herbs that you have used in the past. Overall allergies seem to be an increasing problem.
