Increased shedding
Date: 5/16/2015
After using rogaine for 3 weeks, shedding has increased. Is it really true that this is a good thing? Are there cases of rogaine making people balder in the long term?

Paul

AskDocWeb: Increased shedding should not last long enough to make anyone go bald. According to the manufacturer, if shedding persists more than 2 weeks, users should stop using Rogaine and consult their doctor.

Losing 100 hairs a day
Date: 5/20/2015
I’m using minokem n 2%, when I was stop due to take the medicine for cough for 2week .. & after start further using same product. I find that my hair fall start again 100 per day …. what should I do? & why it happened? whenever I’m taking medicine for cough it happen again & again!

Ajinkya

AskDocWeb: For most people losing 100 hairs a day is considered normal. You might want to read up on “average hair loss” to find out if you really have a hair loss problem or not. If you had excessive hair loss then we would look at the possibility that your cough medicine might be causing hair loss and check the ingredients.

The right path?
Date: 6/3/2015
Sir, I am 31 years old. I started losing my hair 8 years before. But I didn’t care. Now I have lost almost 70%. One of my friend suggested me to use Dr. Reddy 5% Minoxidil oil. I’m confused with its reviews. please show me the right path. I’m very helpless.

Som

AskDocWeb: Sorry Som, the right path is something you, as an adult, have to decide for yourself. This website strives to help you do that by publishing consumer reviews but the choice is up to you.

I am Annesha (First names only please), 26 years old. I am suffering for massive hair loss. And day by day my hair gets thinning. My dermatologist gave me Minoxidil solution USP 5%. I am using this last 1 year. I am very happy for the result, I can see my new hair growth. Last 6 months I just stop to use this solution and then my all new hairs gone. All of my new and existing hairs are falling down. That time my dermatologist further suggest me to use minoxidil solution USP 5% but I am not getting any result. Please help me for that.

Annesha

AskDocWeb: It takes time to work and it may take several months before you see results again. Now you know that you have to continue using it in order to keep the benefits.

Hair fall increased
Date: 6/9/2015
Hi I used mintop forte 5% for one month and then stopped using it now my hairfall has increased drastically. near abaout 100-150 hairs per day…. and I think that I am loosing much more natural hairs. can stopping usage of mintop be a reason of rapid hairfall or only the regrown hairs falls. suggest me what to do?

Naveen

AskDocWeb: The use of Mintop Forte 5% for a single month has not been studied and the expected results of doing that are unknown. This is because it is intended for continuous use, month after month, year after year for as long as you want the benefits.

Hair4U and Mintop
Date: 6/10/2015
Which one gives best result among Hair4u & Mintop ? Hi, I have a problem of hair loss since one year. 6 months back I have consulted a dermatologist, He has suggested me Hiar4u 10% initially for 3 months, later Hair4u 5% for another 3 months. with that results was ok (not bad). later I have consulted another dermatologist with my friend reference, she has suggested me Mintop 10% in the morning and Minoken 5% in the night. since one month I am using these solutions. now I have a severe hair fall problem. I can’t understand what’s happening with my hair. i am in confusion which one is good? wether Hair4u (or) Mintop? Plz plz suggest me. just because of hair loss problem i am unable to concentrate on my career.

Anil

AskDocWeb: Hair4U 5% is a combination of minoxidil and aminexil (diaminopyrimidine oxide). Mintop is basically minoxidil dissolved in alcohol and Minokem contains 5% minoxidil. What they all have in common (of course) is minoxidil. The product data sheet for minoxidil says that if hair loss continues beyond two weeks you should consult with your doctor.

If you catch yourself stressing or worrying about hair loss, remember that stress is one of the causes of hair loss and only makes it worse. Focus on what you want, not what you don’t want.

Morr 12.5%
Date: 6/16/2015
i am using morr 12.5% from last 7 day on 7th day i fell my head heavy and continuous headache. I am 23 year old..I have not much hair loss problem because i lost little bit of hair upper to forehead in both side not to much so i want to grow up again so i m using morr 12.5% which contain minixodil ip 12.5% and alcohal 95% ip 40%. I am using it without the direction of any doctor. so my headache is the result of side effect of morr 12.5%??

Vipin

AskDocWeb: The 12.5% formula of minoxidil has not been studied in controlled clinical trials so the possible side effects are not known. That puts it into the category of an experimental drug and is not recommend.
