Hair loss
Date: 5/26/2015
i’ve been taking phentermine for 2 and a half months now, and noticed a huge amount of hair loss, will it grow back?
Kasey
AskDocWeb: If the hair loss is caused by Phentermine then discontinuing is likely to resolve the issue. However, stress is a known cause of hair loss and trying to lose weight can be very stressful for many people.

Vitamin D deficiency and anemia
Date: 6/19/2015
I was diagnosed with vitamin D deficiency and anemia Can i take phentermine?
Sally
AskDocWeb: Neither condition would necessarily rule out the use of Phentermine however, there are other health issues that need to be considered before prescribing this diet drug.

Date: 6/26/2015
Ive been taking phentermine 37.2mg for 5 weeks, ive recently been prescribed oxytetracycline 250mg, can i take both?

AskDocWeb: We didn’t find any drug interactions listed for those two but you can ask your pharmacist when you get your prescriptions filled for the most up to date information.
Protect my gallbladder?
Date: 6/29/2015
I have been on phentermine for 4 month. The gallbladder protection they subscribe is very expensive is there something else I can take to protect my gallbladder?
Brit
AskDocWeb: That would depend on your physical condition and medical history. You’ll need to ask your doctor about that.
Stuck at my current weight
Date: 7/15/2015
I have been taking phentermine 37.5 mg since August 2014. I have lost a total 81 lbs. I eat right and exercise regularly. The phentermine has stopped working except to help control what I call the hunger monster/carb craver. My bmi is down to 25.8 so I am considered overweight but not obese. I can stop taking the phentermine because other than tiredness I do not have real withdrawals when I don’t take it. I take a B-complex vitamin and L-Tyrosine and supplement with a fiber additive daily.
I would like to get down about 20-25 more lbs but my body seems stuck on my current weight now for a couple months. Is there something I can do to boost my weight loss again to lose the extra weight. I am currently at 157 lbs and 5’6″ so I am realistic in my goal weight. thanks
Saundra
AskDocWeb: It’s not uncommon to hit a plateau when moving toward your ideal goal weight. Keep in mind that the closer you get to that goal weight the slower the loss. That’s a good thing and it’s also a sign that you are more likely to keep that goal weight once you achieve it.
It’s possible that your metabolism has adjusted to your new current weight. If that is the case, you may need to lower the calories on your eating plan. Hitting a plateau is a good time to reassess specific foods in your diet. Add more good ones and delete the not so good. Think of it as improving the nutritional quality of your diet.
Getting into an exercise routine is great but after a while your muscles get used to the routine and become very efficient at doing the task at hand, which can result in a weight loss plateau. To prevent this, mix up your routine and add surges, short periods of intense activity. We usually do 30 seconds of intense exercise followed by 2 minutes of normal activity. That is, running fast as possible for 30 seconds and then walking for 2 minutes. Check with your doctor to get the okay before doing this one. Good luck Saundra.
