Subj: Order phentermine from the Internet?
Date: 1/29/2008
I have been taking phentermine for about 2 and 1/2 months. I think its great. I noticed you can order phentermine from the Internet. Is that dangerous? I mean is it the same thing?
Sandy
AskDocWeb: You have to remember that the Internet is a world-wide network and other countries do not have the same consumer protection laws that we have in the USA. At the present time there is no way to insure that the product you order is legitimate or that the business that sells it is honest. We recommend you get Phentermine from your local drugstore or pharmacy.
Subj: I’m in love with this product!
Date: 1/29/2008
I’m in love with this product! I just started taking these a month ago, and since day 1 I have had tremendous energy, like I am 16 again. I have thyroid problems (very low) which makes you weak and tired and now you cant stop me from cleaning and taking excellent care of my kids. I am so excited that my doc helped me out with this. I was somewhat depressed that I had no energy, it was so discouraging because I had no energy to workout. Pherntermine has given me that “happy” feeling that I have heard about. I feel like a million bucks!
I started out on the 30.0 and for the first few days it worked well, then faded a bit. I called the doc to up the dose to the regular 37.5 and it’s a huge difference. If you are on the 30.0 you should call to up it if it stops working well, or if it seems less than before. I know that eventually it will do this anyways, but the change will make a good difference. I have a 9 month old baby who wakes up 2 times a night, plus the slow thyroid which I take levoxyl for, this keeps me up all night long. (I don’t mind at all because I just get chores done that I couldn’t do in the day because my 4 children are running about) I usually go to bed between 2am and 4am, and wake up between 7am and 9am. It seems that my body is adjusting to this schedule because at first there was a day(like the 3rd day) that I felt delirious from lack of sleep. I didn’t take a pill the next day and slept well that night, and just got back on my regular schedule and been fine since. If I start to feel “immune to it” I will just take a day or two off because that seems to do the trick and give that extra boost. After I took this pill I realized that I did eat alot of sweets and eat bad things often thru the day. I wasn’t aware of my bad habits until now. I actually have to retrain myself to eat even if I am not hungry because you WILL forget to eat on this pill. At first I wouldn’t eat all day, and realize that I better eat something.
I think this also attributed to that “delusional” feeling I had in the beginning because I wasn’t eating at all, or drinking water. Yes, my mouth is terribly dry, but surpassingly I haven’t been thirsty either. Now I just eat on a regular schedule-6 tiny meals thru the day to keep my blood sugar at a good level and drink, drink, drink water. Good luck to all who are trying this and I thank the maker because this is truly a miracle drug.

Subj: My suggestion for success
Date: 2/1/2008
I have been using Phentermine for 4 years. I started it as a weight-loss aid, but now I take it regularly for metabolism. My results and reasons I love this product, do not match the typical description on this site. I take it first thing in the morning and wait one hr. Then I eat a small amount(like one doughnut), that usually works for the appetite. If I forget to wait an hour, or choose not to wait, I don’t get the appetite help, but I still have energy. My mother is chronically fatigued. When I saw that this product kept me from dragging around like that, I made it part of my life! I do try to take a break from it occasionally. I have no withdrawl symptoms. I combine it with my cold meds or pain relievers with no ill effects. I have my blood pressure monitored regularly (cuz Doc won’t give it to me otherwise) and my heart rate is as low now as it was when I started. 100 over 60. My suggestion for success… Take it first thing, then wait to eat, stay active, and drink plenty!

Subj: Recommend this to everyone
Date: 2/1/2008
I am using Phentermine right now, and it is wonderful! I have lost 11 pounds in 17 days! I think that is great! It is not too fast, but also is showing me results that make me want to continue. I also work out daily, 10-15 minutes in the morning and at least 20 minutes in the evening. I drink water ALL the time! I definitely would recommend this to everyone.(But make sure to do your part too, the pill helps a lot but it works even faster if you work out and drink water water water!)

Subj: Duromine?
Date: 2/6/2008
Hi, I have been taking phentermine37.5 for 1.5 weeks now and have lost around 3kg. I heard that it can make you feel more energetic but I seem to feel quite sluggish instead. Does anyone know if this is the same as duromine? Which works better or faster?

Subj: Psychotic break?
Date: 2/6/2008
My wife was prescribed phentermine for over three years without break. She is on disability and was advised to use it for her chronic fatigue. She a history of prescription drug use (2 arrests) for Vicodin prescription fraud, and she was getting the Phentermine from her pharmacy as well as email outlets. Suddenly, without warning, she suffered what appears to be a psychotic break with all the psychosis being aimed at me. Any experience with similar problems?

Subj: Need blood work done for life insurance policy
Date: 2/7/2008
I used the product for 3 months and lost 30 pounds. I slowly came off the product by taking half a dose for a week. On the first day of not taking any, I had a mild headache. Otherwise, no other side effects. My question is…How long does it take before it is completely out of your blood? I need to have some blood work done for my life insurance policy and can not have it show up. Thank you,
Susan
AskDocWeb: Most of it will be out of your system in a couple of days but it may take three to four weeks for it to get completely out of your system.
Subj: Metabolism slowed down when not on the pills
Date: 2/8/2008
I have taken phentermine and adipex. I found that the first time I took diet pills I lost 15 lbs. Now I loose about 5-6 lbs only. I also found that my metabolism has slowed down drastically when I’m not on the pills, and I exercise 5x a week.

Subj: 2 questions
Date: 2/8/2008
I’m down to a size 4 from doing weight watchers:-) Started to gain a few so hopped on phen. It has helped me lose a couple of lbs – just a couple more to go. 2 questions: 1) Can I take the 30mg pill every other day? 2) What can I take to counteract the irritability?
Size 4
AskDocWeb: Phentermine is a prescription drug and you need to be under the care of a doctor while using it. Taking it every other day would not produce the same results as it would if you followed the directions. Taking the time to increase your activity level is a great way to combat irritability. It releases endorphins that make you feel good.
Subj: Thinking long term
Date: 2/9/2008
I have taken phentermine for up to 5 months on one occasion and lost 50 lbs. I was 345 plus lbs on a 5’5 frame. Everything was fine then. I also lost another 50 using Medifast. I gained back 20 and then started using Phentermine again for the last month but I have an unusually high blood pressure average now and am fighting through various meds to get it down. I was 120/70 or 130/80 prior to taking phentermine this second time but now my readings are 160/110 or 170/100 so my Doc just told me to stop taking it. It does work but I am thinking long term it can do damage to your blood vessels which is so not worth it in the long run. I still have 120 lbs to lose and am pursuing the lap band surgery at this time.

Subj: Sagging skin
Date: 2/11/2008
A friend has been on phentermine for about a year and complains of sagging skin. She is or was not very overweight. She is also a little stiffer in the joints. Are these effects of the Phenentermine?
Ruben
AskDocWeb: While Sagging skin is not listed as a side effect of Phentermine it can be a result of weight loss. Stiff joints have not been reported to be a side effect of this medication.
Subj: Phentermine linked to strokes?
Date: 2/11/2008
My wife was taking Phentermine, and after several weeks she suffered a massive ischemic stroke. Is Phentermine linked to strokes?
John
AskDocWeb: It should be noted that a stroke is one of the health consequences of obesity, however, there was an article published in Stroke, Vol 24, 310-313, (Copyright © 1993 by American Heart Association ) in which J Kokkinos and SR Levine (Department of Neurology, Henry Ford Hospital and Health Sciences Center, Detroit, MI) linked ischemic stroke with Phentermine. Their conclusion was that Phentermine should be considered an anorexiant and sympathomimetic drug that can be associated with ischemic cerebrovascular disease. In another article from the Br-J-Clin-Pharmacol (1999 May; 47(5): 565-9), researchers concluded that their study did not support a substantial increased risk of stroke attributable to the use of phentermine.
Subj: Anxiety attack
Date: 2/11/2008
I started taking Phentemine a week ago no probs at first but now I feel like I am having an anxiety attack…doctor gave me the 37.5 MG and told me I could break them in half…I still feel like it is too much. What other MG is there?
Vicki
AskDocWeb: Anxiety is one of the side effects that should be reported to your doctor. There are many other medications that can help you lose weight.
Subj: Increase chances of lifetime success
Date: 2/11/2008
I have been taking Phentermine for about 8 weeks and I have lost 23 lbs. I have been able to successfully lose weight without medication in the past. My doctor prescribed the Phentermine to help me get back on track after a life-altering event and an associated 20 lb. weight gain. My question is this- with proper diet and exercise what are my chances for being able to keep the weight off? Everything I read online makes it sound like a lot of people gain all or most of the weight back very quickly as soon as they go off of the Phentermine. What can I do to increase my chances of lifetime success?
Olivia
AskDocWeb: Those who have the most success learn to make lifestyle changes. That includes increasing your activity level, not just with exercise but with activities that add to your enjoyment of life. If you don’t know how to dance, you might learn that it is a fun thing to do. The same could be said of swimming, cycling, bowling, and other sports – learn to celebrate your active lifestyle. That is not something you are, an active lifestyle is something you do. Participate in group activities such as team sports or other groups that require physical effort. There are many worthwhile groups looking for volunteers to help increase the quality of life for others. Getting involved in such noble causes has many more benefits than just the exercise.
