Report on Poplar Side Effects and Usage

Natural health supplements sometimes have unexpected side effects or interactions with medication that can lead to adverse reactions that are sometimes life threatening. Warning 1 – Contraindications: Do not use if allergic to aspirin, a honeybee product called propolis, or Peru Balsam, or if hypersensitive to salicylates.

Warning 2 – Anticoagulants: may increase bleeding when used concurrently with anticoagulants or blood thinning medications such as warfarin (Coumadin(R). Experts recommend avoiding concurrent use.

Warning 3 – Iron salts: May decrease the absorption of iron salts.

Side Effects of poplar

There are no health hazards or side effects of poplar when used in the proper administration of designated therapeutic dosages. External administration of poplar occasionally leads to allergic skin reactions.

Other names for poplar include American aspen, Black Poplar, Canadian Poplar, European Aspen, Populus alba, Quaking aspen, and White poplar.

As with any herb, a serious allergic reaction is possible. Seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction. These may include a rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, or trouble breathing.
