What is Procerin?
Procerin is a relatively new product manufactured by Speedwinds Nutrition Inc. for those suffering from hair loss. It is a hair loss supplement, a blend of herbs, vitamins and minerals specially formulated to block production of DHT, the primary cause of hair loss in men. Procerin is an all-natural DHT inhibitor to use internally to stop hair loss and promote the regrowth of new hair.
Since Procerin is a non-prescription solution to hair loss, it’s available without a prescription. The company claims an 88% success rate with Procerin.
How does Procerin work?
Male hair loss is caused by a chemical called dihydrotestosterone (DHT). A naturally occurring enzyme in your body (5 alpha-reductase) transforms the male hormone testosterone into DHT. This DHT is the main cause of thinning hair and receding hairline in men.
Certain herbs and minerals, in the proper mixture, can bind with 5 alpha-reductase and prevent it from transforming the testosterone into DHT. Supplements with the correct ingredients can halt the effects of DHT, and even assist in the regrowth of hair, particularly in men ages 18-40.
Procerin blocks the DHT without reacting with testosterone, like some prescription medications. This reduces, and can even halt, the further loss of hair from the scalp, without causing the sexual side effects of prescription drugs like Propecia (finasteride).
What side effects do users of Procerin report?
Procerin is free from most of the side effects associated with other medications and supplements. A small minority of men report mild stomach discomfort in the first few days of use. The solution, if this occurs, is to take Procerin with food.
There are some possible side effects of the Saw Palmetto in Procerin: If you are sensitive to the Saw Palmetto, there may be some mild dizziness, vomiting, constipation or diarrhea.
How long does it take to work?
Because hair grows so slowly (about 1/2 inch a month), it is recommended that you use Procerin for at least 3 months before you expect to see results (although some Procerin users reported improvement in only two weeks). The results from Procerin are much faster than Rogaine® (4 months) or Propecia® (6 months).
How do I know if Procerin will work for me?
Preliminary studies indicate that Procerin is effective for the majority of men (the company says 88%) who suffer from androgenetic alopecia, the most common cause of hair loss. Procerin will not help individuals whose hair loss is the result of chemotherapy, scalp trauma, androgenetic areata, or other non-DHT related causes.
Does Procerin work for women?
Women are not likely to experience improvement by taking Procerin unless the hair loss is caused by DHT. The active ingredients in Procerin are aimed specifically at hair loss caused by DHT and most women lose hair for different reasons. On the other hand, if a biopsy shows a significant level of DHT is present then this DHT blocker may work exceptionally well for some women.
We are currently collecting data about a product called Advecia and it’s use by women for hair loss. If you know a woman who has tried this, please tell them to let us know how it works (or doesn’t) so we can share it.
What are the ingredients in Procerin?
The active ingredients are all-natural herbal, vitamin, and mineral DHT inhibitors. Saw Palmetto, Gotu Kola and Nettles are proven to block DHT and combat the effects of hair loss and thinning hair.
According to their website, there are 17 ingredients in the Procerin formula. These include: Saw Palmetto 1500mg, Magnesium 150mg (38% DRV), Zinc Sulfate 15mg (100% DRV), Vitamin B-6, Pyroxidine 5mg ( 300% DRV), CJ-11 Factor, CJ-9 Factor, and a proprietary blend of 30mg containing Gotu Kola, Nettles, Pumpkin seed meal, Siberian Ginseng, Yohimbe, Muira Puma Root and Uwa Ursi.
The Bottles we purchased in December, 2003 listed 10 ingredients; Saw Palmetto, Magnesium, Zinc Sulfate, Pyroxidine, and a proprietary blend of 30mg containing Gotu Kola, Nettles, Pumpkin seed, Siberian Ginseng, Muira Puma Root and Uwa Ursi. The Yohimbe was reportedly removed because of foreign market regulations.
Additionally, all ingredients are pharmaceutical grade quality and processed under stringent quality control standards. No binders, fillers, or artificial preservatives are used in Procerin.
That’s it. No harsh chemicals, no messy topical creams, liquids, or special shampoos, and no sexual side effects.
Can I take Procerin while taking Rogaine/Propecia?
Yes, you can successfully combine Procerin with Rogaine® and/or Propecia®. These products target different phases of DHT production. The topical treatments like Rogaine do not interfere with the effectiveness of Procerin, and may help to increase your rate of hair regrowth. Many customers reported good result using Procerin and Propecia together.
Will my hair fall out if I stop taking Procerin?
This is a common concern, and a tough one to answer because it varies by individual. Some men report no hair loss after a period of disuse. Most men start to see their hair loss return, more slowly, within a few months of cessation of Procerin use. Generally, younger men (under 40) have better results discontinuing Procerin use without a return to their previous state of hair loss.
We ran into a problem while checking out Procerin. There is a lot less documentation with non-prescription products and this one is relatively new, so we didn’t find much on it. The earliest mention we found was November of 2002. That’s when they first showed on Internet. We didn’t find any unresolved disputes with the Better Business Bureau so that’s a plus in their favor. We would really like to hear some more feedback from users.
One of the most notable things about trying Procerin is that it comes with an unconditional 90-Day Money Back Guarantee. You won’t see that with any of the prescription medications like Propecia.
Chances are good that you will be in the 88% of users who report success with Procerin.
Direction for use: Take one tablet in the morning and two tablets in the evening before sleeping. If stomach discomfort occurs, take with food.
Do NOT misuse the product. For example, if you use an entire three-month’s worth of Procerin in a few weeks, that voids the guarantee.
Procerin’s benefits are greatest for men from 18 to 35.
Men that still have growing hair experience an increase in hair count, and improvement in both hairline and thinning at the crown of the head.
Procerin’s effectiveness for men whose hair is no longer in a growth phase is limited to retaining existing hair.
To see the full benefits of this product we recommend you purchase a three-month supply.
Can I order Procerin from outside the United States?
Yes, Procerin ships internationally to most countries. The only countries we found that prohibited shipping were Iran, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, and Uzbekistan. If you are unsure whether your country’s customs laws permit the importation of Procerin, you should contact Speedwinds Nutrition prior to placing your order and ask.

Procerin carries a 90-day money back guarantee (minus shipping costs). To qualify for a refund you must return ALL bottles both opened and unopened.
