Subj: Shedding

I’ve been taking 2 month now, but suddenly I lost lots of hair around now. Is that “shedding”? If so, is that bad thing? What’s gonna happen after shedding?

Freddie

AskDocWeb: It does sound like you are shedding. We are still collecting information on this. We are asking that anyone who has gone through this “shedding” phase to tell us how long it lasted. So far, we have reports of it lasting 3 weeks to 2 months followed by normal growth. If there is a “shedding phase” how often do men go through this?

Ok, something seems to be taking a turn. I’ve been taking Procerin for awhile now and I’ve posted on here and shared my positive results with everyone. However, my hair is now falling out again like crazy. Only thing I notice different is the different pills they are sending me now. Is there anything different in these new pills than with the capsules they previously sold? Procerin was working great for me, felt like it was my answer to battling hair loss but now it just doesn’t seem to be doing anything? Could it just be a shedding period b/c I hadn’t lost anything in the previous 4 months or so? But my hair has been falling out now for almost 2 months now and it seems to be getting worse and worse? I’m getting very upset that Procerin is currently no longer working for me.

Brian

AskDocWeb: At this point we can only speculate. It could be that you have built up a tolerance to it and will have to lay off for a while
(drug holiday). Another possibility is that Procerin doesn’t work in the shedding phase, if there is such a thing.

Subj: Recommendations wanted
Date: 6/13/2004
I am 24, and my hairloss is pretty mild. Although I first started notice thinning (mostly in the front area of my head)about 8 years ago, with the help of thickening shampoo (that new VIVE stuff) and a hair dryer (which increases hairs thickness when used while styling) I still have a pretty full head of hair. But because I have naturally thin hair and like I said there has been some thinning I decided to start in the early stages of hair loss to combat the problem. I have been taking Procerin for about a month now. I can’t say I have seen any real results so far, but it has made my hair feel softer, don’t know if that is really positive or negative but that is the only thing I’ve noticed this far into using it.

As far as side effects I have not experienced anything negative at all, and if I had to say whether or not my sex drive has increased or decreased since starting to take Procerin, I would definitely say it has increased, so that is a plus. I still have 2 more bottles left, and I think I will probably order 3 more when those are all used up to really give this product a chance, because I feel optomistic.

I am also considering using the product “Nu Hair” as well as the Procerin for increased results, does anybody know if “Nu Hair” is suppossed to work? I’ll write again in another month to give you updates. Also can anybody recommend a shampoo that help prevent hair loss and help regrow hair? I do NOT want to use one of those sprays or solutions you rub on your scalp, so I am just interested in shampoos, once again any recommendations would be appreciated.

Ed

AskDocWeb: Nu Hair seems to be an import from China. They say you can treat menopause and hair loss at the same time. Their website looks like they did a fairly good job of translating Chinese into English. Or maybe it just looks that way because most of their references are from China.

Subj: Hair growth
Date: 6/14/2004
I know as people get older hair growth on the back can increase. Will these hair growth products affect hair on other parts of the body?

CH

AskDocWeb: To our knowledge, the only product you have to be concerned about in that regard is Minoxidil. Be careful where you put it.

Subj: All natural
Date: 6/16/2004
Since Procerin is all natural…Can it be brought over-the-counter?

Jerry

AskDocWeb: The term “All natural” does not mean it is available over-the-counter. Those two terms refer to very different things. The last time we checked, Procerin was available from only two sources, one in the United States and one in the UK.

Subj: Mixing with medications
Date: 6/16/2004
Are there any known side effects if taking procerin while on an anti-anxiety medication such as prozac/paxil/xanax? Thanks

Nick

AskDocWeb: None that we have come across, however, you should always talk to your doctor before mixing herbal products with prescription drugs, not because doctors are well educated about herbs (most aren’t), but because everyone has a unique response based on their age, sex and physicsl condition.

Subj: Concerned about feedback
Date: 6/16/2004
I have now read many websites claiming procerin to be misleading with most of the feedback being made up. This comes from legit hair sites and they have checked background on Internet sites that state they are independent but are actually related to Procerin. Is this site one of those? My concern is I have just received another 3 bottles and have taken propecia for 3 months will this undo the hard work . How long does it take for propecia to leave the system and if I go back on it how long before it will start working again. It’s sad to see how so many people will prey on others weakness. Is procerin just some vitamins and if it’s working on some is it all mindset? Appreciate your thoughts. Also I have heard l-lysine helps with hair growth have you heard much about this.

Rob

AskDocWeb: You have obviously fallen for the hate campaign being waged by the owner of the Hairlosstalk website. They started out as a pretty good site but the owner seems to have become obsessed with trying to put Procerin out of business. According to them it is a crime for the owner of a business to name a product after the person who started that business (the C.J. factors). That’s weird. And their “logic” seem to get more distorted as they go off the deep end. They have falsely accused us of several things, including being the property of someone else. I assure you that we are completely independent. Every post on this website is a result of email we received, just like yours. Unfortunately, they have hurt our efforts to do a study on Procerin by convincing a few people to quit taking it even though it was working. Hopefully they will limit their hate campaign to just one product and not interfere with our next study.

Hi. Because of this website and another, I decided to order Procerin. I am also combining the Equate brand of 5% Minoxidil while using Nioxin shampoo/treatment combo. I am 30 and have noticable vertex thining. I would be happy to include before and after photos (three months later) if needed, as well as, my personal evaluation. Here’s wishing me luck!

Phil

AskDocWeb: We are please to have you do that. And good luck.

Subj: Considering trying the Procerin
Date: 6/17/2004
I’m considering trying the Procerin but am uncertain as to the cause of my hair loss. Is it normal to have headaches coinciding with the rate of hairloss? I understand the theory behind DHT but I have never heard of additional side affects during the hair loss process. Age 32 losing hair since I was 26. First noticed it as I was leaving the military.

David

AskDocWeb: We suggest you get a complete physical and ask your doctor about the headaches. It should be reassuring to confirm that nothing else is going on besides the hair loss.

Subj: Noticed little white hairs growing
Date: 6/17/2004
I have been using procerin for about 4 and 1/2 months now. Although my hair isn’t really that bad(slight receding hairline)I didn’t want to take any chances….have noticed little white hairs growing in the temple regions..don’t know if they eventually will grow thicker or fall out, will keep you posted….however, I am taking procerin in conjuction with the nioxin hair products…thanks

Kenny

Subj: Yohimbe and ginseng
Date: 6/20/2004
Please could you tell me, are the amounts of Yohimbe and ginseng present in Procerin likely to cause harmful side effects? I am thinking of ordering but am a bit concerned as I have read that large doses can be dangerous. Many thanks,

Alan.

AskDocWeb: The amount of ginseng in Procerin seems too small to cause any problems. Procerin does not contain Yohimbe.

Subj: Too good to be true?
Date: 6/20/2004
I ordered a 6 months supply of procerin today after reading all the feedbacks on your website. Also I came across this website: restorationhair.com. They seem to very confident and are giving money back guarantee. Is it too good to be true?

Ethen

AskDocWeb: If it seems too good to be true, it often is. They say, quote: “You’ll see results the very next morning!” Unquote. Sorry, but your hair does not grow that fast. Sounds like a scam to us.

Subj: Combination worked
Date: 6/24/2004
I’m using procerin and rogaine together and I guess the combination worked for me … I saw improvement within 2 months but I’m not confirmed that which of the two worked faster !!!

Subj: Just started
Date: 6/24/2004
Just started using a 6-month supply of Procerin. I’m 33 and have used Remaxx for 10 years to slow down my receeding hairline (which I believe has worked to slow it down – my genetic code tells me I should be totally bald by now). I am now seeing thinning in the crown and top of my head. I am going to take pictures and use Remaxx (a topical solution) and Procerin concurrently and hope to see favorable results of some sort. I hear a lot of whining from people about a few minor side effects of Procerin – keep in mind people, we are messing with nature here…she’s gonna fight back a bit. I’ll send some pictures when I get a chance. Thanks for your website.

Matt

Subj: Shedding
Date: 6/27/2004
Regarding the shedding some users are reporting; I have a thinning head of hair at the crown and after one bottle’s use, approximately a month, I noticed a notable shedding of hair. It frankly alarmed me to the point that I thought the product might be having an adverse affect on my body’s hair chemistry. Unwillingly to experiment I stopped use. I too, like many of the contributors to this survey, have heard shedding is demonstrative that a product is working (new hair is pushing forward etcetera) however that hopeful theory contradicts Procerin’s own advice/propaganda. I must say I am keenly awaiting your objective and scientifically based analysis of this product.

Subj: 3 months – Jeffrey
Date: 6/27/2004
I’m a 29-year-old male ethnically mixed black and white. My crown is thinning. After trying Procerin for 3.5 months with no visible results, I have given up on Procerin. I experienced a side effect of quick, sharp chest pains while taking it, and it’s just not worth finishing off the 6 month supply.

So if you’re looking for results in your case study, I give a thumbs down to Procerin. I’ll be trying Propecia next. Remember guys, Procerin is an herbal remedy, just like Ephedra is an herbal remedy.

After visiting my doctor for these chest pains, he said said that Procerin makers can be reported to the FDA by any physician/medical official. Be informed.

Jeffrey

Subj: Rash
Date: 6/28/2004
I was taking Procerin for about 3 weeks when I began to notice a rash on my arms and midsection. I immediately stopped taking it on the advice I received from my doctor. Most synthetic medications have a herbal background but unlike all synthetic medications herbal remedies don’t have to be approved by clinical trials before going on the market. Use with caution!

Baxtor

AskDocWeb: That is true of all herbal products. Clinical trials are expensive and that cost is part of the reason drugs are so expensive compared to herbal products. Read more feedback about Procerin
