Subj: Concerned about shedding

AskDocWeb: The reported shedding (one out of five users) was not in a particular area but rather an overall increase in hair loss. And yes, those who reported shedding said that it was temporary.

Hello, I am 29 years old Asian guy and I started to lose my hair about 3 years ago. I am so afraid to use any hair products out there to help regrowth… afraid that I might lose more hair.. but I’ve been reading this procerin review.. it’s changing my mind and want to give myself a try using this product. But before I start to order, I have a few questions and hope you can help.

Questions: 1. Which products you suggest to try for an Asian guy my age “29 Years old” and never use any products out there.

2. Will my hair stop growing or start to lose again when stop using the product? and do I have to use it for the rest of my life to maintain the good result?

3. Where should I be ordering the products to make sure it’s pure one. I’ve seen lots of Procerin product sell on Ebay cheaper. Thanks,

Hey there… I’m 32 and have been taking Rogaine 5% for about 4 months. I have had pretty good success with it but I think my time may be running out (some shedding has resumed). I want to try Procerin but I wonder what is in the Procerin solution? Can I take it with Rogaine or should I just stick to the pills rather than use 2 topical solutions?

Subj: No improvement

No improvement end of 4 months Since 4 months I have been taking Procerin pills and using XP. After 4 months unfortunately, I don’t noticed any stopping hair loss or re-growth. As a side effect I noticed between 2nd and 4th week less libido and erection. After 4th week it went back to normal I am 31, oil skin and dark wavy hair. Since I purchased 6 months of supply, I’ll use it 2 more months. If I don’t notice any improvement I’ll try another product.

I am 24 years old and have began using a procerin and rogaine combo. I have always had a very thick head of hair but after a couple years of using prohormones(1-AD, M-1T) to bulk up they have taken effect on my head. I quit using them about a year ago when I noticed the hair in the back of my head getting very thin and coming out in the shower. At this time I used procerin alone for about 2 months and my hair began to get thicker again so I stopped taking it. Everything was fine till about a month ago and it started coming out like crazy-all over. I will be using both of these this time for the long term and will update how things go. I have one question about the rogaine. In one post you mentioned minoxidil is only effective for about 48 weeks? Does this mean it is useless to use it longer or keep using to retain whatever results were achieved?

AskDocWeb: Minoxidil seems to work best as a jump starter to help get the hair started growing again. Using it beyond 48 weeks would seem to be a waste of money, according to Drug Facts from the FDA.

Subj: Noticed some re-growth on top

I’ve been using Procerin now for 2 months, I don’t think I have gone through this shedding phase like most people. I have however noticed some re-growth on the top of my head, which was starting to thin quite alot and become noticeable, but so far no regrowth to the temples. I shave my head regularly to a close cut and have done so since starting to loose my hair, is this going to effect any re-growth? Should I start to let my hair grow out a little now to encourage re -growth?

AskDocWeb: Shaving may stimulate hair growth in the short term but it will not affect the long-term growth of your hair. It may seem obvious to some but if you want to enjoy the benefits of new growth you’ll have to stop shaving your head and let it grow out a little.

Subj: Procerin with Propecia?

I noticed that early in your study of procerin who suggested that it would be okay to take it with procecia but now I’ve noticed that you have said it is best to take one or the other. Is this for the sake of the study or because it can be dangerous to take both? Thank you very much for your help,

AskDocWeb: That was for the sake of the study. There have been no reports of any problems from taking Procerin with Propecia. One person has said they thought it was dangerous to take them together but we haven’t found the source of that rumor.

I just wanted to know, does exercise, diet, mental health and other factors in any way influence hair loss in men?

I’m trying to find research on how healthy it is to block DHT, is it possible DHT is part of some necessary process’s?

AskDocWeb: Yes it is, the conversion of testosterone into DHT is a necessary process for males to form their sexual organ during gestation. This is the main reason why pregnant women should not take the drug Propecia. When that conversion process is blocked, the result is birth defects in the male sex organs of fetuses. Of course that is not an issue after you are born because the sex organs are formed by then.

Some DHT is also needed for metabolism so it’s possible to experience fatigue if you block too much DHT by taking too much saw palmetto.
