Subj: Best hairloss treatment on the market?
Date: 9/1/2008
I’ve been using procerin for about three months now, and my hair has gotten thinner on top. There is no sign of hair regrowth. I have plenty of hair on the sides and I have to get haircuts more frequently but no signs of hair regrowth in the targeted area. I am only taking the pills. Should I be using the serum as well? What is the best hairloss treatment on the market? I am 24 years old.
Bob
AskDocWeb: We are in the process of reassessing our opinion of the “best” product and will have to get back to you later on that. The feedback on the serum has been running about 50-50 for and against so we can’t recommend it yet. If you try it, be sure to add your comments.
Subj: About Procerin
Date: 9/3/2008
I would like to find out about Procerin. Is this available from local pharmacist or boots and second think who safe is this Procerin as I have been using Regain for last 10 years and it only grew very thin and small amount of hair. My only concern is that there is not enough study on Procerin and all the reports which I read on your website about Procerin is from 2004 to 2005 but not recent reports. Please keep me posted.
B.
AskDocWeb: The 2006 reports start on page 25, the 2007 reports start on page 44, and the 2008 reports start on page 56.
Subj: 18 year old with hair loss
Date: 9/4/2008
I’m 18.5 now and have noticed a receding hairline leading into a thinner temple/hairline region. I’ve tried nioxin shampoo treatment for the last 5 months and I saw some decent results…or so I think; I’m not positive. I just ordered my 3 month supply of Procerin yesterday and I really hope it works to help regrow the thickness of my hair because I’m too young to lose my hair now! It stresses me out. Also my dad has significant baldness so I don’t know if father’s genes affect hair loss because my mom’s dad had hardly any loss. I’ll let you know if it works.
P.S. Sorry, I just forgot to add that about a year and a half ago, when I began to notice some hairloss starting, I had a pretty violent week of being sick with salmonella food poisoning. I was just wondering if you or anyone knows if that could be the culprit in the triggering of my hairloss?
Zach
AskDocWeb: Stress can cause a significant amount of hair loss but typically that is a temporary thing. Good luck with the Procerin.

Subj: Does Provillus do a better job?
Date: 9/13/2008
Hi! I am 28 years old and have spent the past 3 months making researched about hair loss treatments. I have hair loss history in both sides of my family. My father side gets total bald and my mom’s side a very deep receding hair line and hair loss in temples. I believe my case is more similar to my mom’s because my crown is still full but my temples have been showing more and more every month. I decided to get Procerin and have been using it for 20 days now. Its making my stomach upset, and I noticed a little more of hair thinning… Does Provillus do a better job? Thanks a million!!!
Gabriel
AskDocWeb: Sorry Gabriel, there isn’t enough feedback on Provillus yet for a meaningful comparison.
Subj: New to Procerin
Date: 9/13/2008
Hi all, I am new to Procerin treatment. I am going to order the tablets as I have been already been taking up the minoxidil serum applied over the crown part. I would like to have your advise on the same. Shall I start up the Procerin treatment along with the minoxidil serum treatment? Or we have ti undergo a hair transplant for better result. Having said that I am not bald but I am suffering from hair thinning. Best regards,
M.R
AskDocWeb: Our advice is to get a check up to make sure that you don’t have medical condition, such as a thyroid problem, that causes hair loss. Many men have reported getting good results with using both.

Subj: Hairloss slowed down
Date: 9/22/2008
I’ve been taking Procerin for about a year, and I have to tell you that my hairloss has definitely slowed down. however, I’m not seeing much in terms of regrowth. also, I’ve been wearing hats pretty much my entire life since I was about 14 and I’m now 29 years old. I know that hats causing hair loss is a myth. however, do you think that this long term, pretty much daily hat use can be contributing at all to my hair loss? I’m definitely not seeing hairloss where the hat makes contact on the sides and back of my head, so I don’t think I’ve got traction alopecia. The hairloss is more on top of the head. Would lack of exposure to sunlight have an effect? Thanks.
Vince
AskDocWeb: The lack of exposure to sunlight would have no more effect on your scalp than it does on the hair under your arms, which is no effect at all.
Subj: Let’s see how it goes

Subj: My hair has stopped falling out
Date: 9/28/2008
I have been taking procerin for 5 or 6 years, and although I dislike spending the 50 dollars every 3 months, I have to say that since I started taking it, my hair has stopped falling out. I haven’t regained any of my lost hair, but I don’t think my hair loss has gotten worse.
Paul
Subj: Don’t waste money
Date: 10/2/2008
Before I take any supplements, I want to see a doctor about my hair and have him/her suscribe what supplements may be best for me and my condition. Should I go to a Dermotologist or a regular physician to seek advice about my hair? Please let me know so I don’t waste money seeing a doctor that will refer me to another.
Needguidance
AskDocWeb: Ideally you would call a dermatologist’s office and get a referral to a dermatologist that specializes in hair loss. Not all dermatologists are good with hair loss conditions.
Subj: Upper back?
Date: 10/3/2008
Today is the first day I started using procerin. Now I’m at work and my upper back is starting to hurt… Is it in my head or has anyone else felt this the first day.
Jonh
AskDocWeb: In the five years we have been tracking possible side effects, no one has reported upper back pain. Since it is your first day that means you took only one dose. The only possible side effect from that would be a little upset stomach and that has a very small chance of happening.
Subj: Procerin side effects?
Date: 10/8/2008
I would like to know which is the best prodict in market .. I started using procerin 3 to 4 days back… any sideeffects with procerin?
Srini
AskDocWeb: The side effects are listed in our Procerin Study.
Subj: Hair has started to fall out again
Date: 10/27/2008
I’ve been using Procerin for almost two years now, and my hair has started to fall out again. I wasn’t using the serum until about a month ago, when I decided I should try to get my hair a little thicker, now it started falling out again! Thinking of switching to the new Advecia or NISIM, any suggestions?
Charis
AskDocWeb: First thanks for letting us know about your experience with the XT serum. Readers should note that Charis was satisfied enough with Procerin to continue using it over the past two years. Since your hair loss started again when the XT serum was added we would discontinue the serum and go with the Nisim Biofactors.
Subj: Some re-growth
Date: 10/28/2008
I seem to have noticed some re-growth, My hair also looks thicker, and is certainly in much better condition. I feel sure the hair loss has slowed down at least.

Subj: Provillus or Procerin?
Date: 11/3/2008
Hi, I was wondering how many mg’s is procerin and provillus? I was wondering which product is better Provillus or Percerin. I am debating on the two. Your advice is much appreciated.
Mike
AskDocWeb: Both are compounds of a variety of ingredients and while the minor ingredients vary, both have 1500mg of saw palmetto. We don’t have a preference of one over the other but do hope you share your results with readers here. Good luck.
Subj: Sexual side effects
Date: 11/6/2008
Good site. I used propecia for 4 months last year, then stopped due to sexual side effects. After a few months I then tried procerin and used it for about a month before experiencing similar side effects, although not nearly as severe. Could these side effects be aftershocks of propecia or have some procerin users experienced this effect even though the supplement has not been proven to have a libido effect.
Lloyd
AskDocWeb: Sorry Lloyd, there is not enough data about Propecia to answer that question. In our one year study on Procerin, out of 118 men, 3 reported a decrease in libido and 3 men reported an increase in libido.
Subj: Procerin
Date: 11/10/2008
I just started on Procerin. On the 4th day, I noticed excessive shedding in the shower. (1) Is this a good sign that the pills are working? (2) Based on other reviews and what you think, should I combine Procerin with Minoxidil or Nisim for best results?
Tim
AskDocWeb: There have been many reports of a period of shedding when first starting treatment, not just with Procerin but with all hair loss products. It doesn’t happen to everyone but it does seem to be common and it passes with continued use. At this point in time we would choose Nisim over Minoxidil but that is subject to change as more feedback comes in. Read more feedback about Procerin. Alternative hair loss products:
- Provillus
