Subj: No results
Date: 11/4/2009
Tried it for two months and no results.

Mark

AskDocWeb: If you want results you have to give it time to work. The fastest you might expect to begin to see results is 3 months, but most men don’t see it until month 5 or 6.

Subj: Rogaine and topical Procerin?
Date: 11/14/2009
I am considering taking rogaine and procerin at the same time. My question is, since I will be taking rogaine, is it beneficial to also buy the topical procerin foam that can had along with the pills? Seems like it would be too much topical treatment at once…

Amir

AskDocWeb: If you will be using Rogaine then you don’t need the Procerin XT serum since it also contains minoxidil. And you are right, using both minoxidil products together would likely irritate the scalp and could cause other problems as well. Stick with the Rogaine and Procerin capsules for 6 months and report back.

Subj: Just a thought
Date: 11/17/2009
Hi I just wondered, not being silly, but probably sounding it, has anybody tried putting their head inside a freezer, for a few minutes to see if the intense cold can trigger hair growth? I mean all animals living in cold climates have good thick fur, after all hair is for thermal protection right? So your just using it how nature intended it to be used, just wondered? I am not advocating balding people should do this, just a thought that’s all.

Robin

AskDocWeb: Just for kicks we looked it up. In 2006, Doctor Gregory J. Jurkovich researched the effect of cold on the body. He found that the intensive vasoconstrictive effect of cold decreased hair growth.

Subj: Switch to procerin?
Date: 11/20/2009
I have been using finasteride for last three months.. Now can I switch to procerin? What can be possible side effects of shifting to another medicine?

Anand

AskDocWeb: If you have run into medical problems with using finasteride check with your doctor. A small number of men have reported chest pain by those switching to Procerin.

Subj: Rogaine not optimal
Date: 11/22/2009
Hi, I have been using Rogaine for more than a year to help combat with my hair loss, but have not seen optimal results. After seeing reviews on Procerin, I decided to purchase a 3 month supply (pills only). I have been looking at previous feedback on here, and was just wondering if I should continue to use Rogaine along with the Procerin pills. I only ask because I saw in a previous post that you stated “Minoxidil may help for awhile but according to the FDA’s, Drug Facts from the FDA “Hair regrowth has not been shown to last longer than 48 weeks of continuous treatment in large clinical trials with minoxidil topical solution 5% for men.” Would it be pointless for me to continue to use Rogaine along with Procerin? Or is it possible that Rogaine will help in this situation in combination with Procerin? Thanks.

Frank

AskDocWeb: It is possible but since your results to date haven’t been optimal it is not likely. You might be better off combining Procerin with a shampoo that fights hair loss like Nisim New Hair Biofactors.

Subj: Almost completely bald
Date: 11/22/2009
is there is any sense in trying any of hair loss products after 40 years of age and almost been completely bald?

Mohamed

AskDocWeb: Take a look at the results of the Procerin Study and check the results for others in your age group. Granted that none of the men in that study started out completely bald but it should still give you a general idea of the results of others if you want to try it.

Subj: Saw Palmetto?
Date: 11/24/2009
So it looks like the main active ingredient in Procerin is Saw Palmetto and even then all it does is slow-down hair loss but not effectively stopping a receding hairline. Is this correct? Instead of purchasing Procerin, would you recommend purchasing Saw Palmetto extract? There is a very good multi-vitamin, Opti-Men, with a blend of 525mg Saw Palmetto & other ingredients at a fraction of the price. Thank you,

Jeff

AskDocWeb: That is not quite correct. Although we do not recommend Procerin as a solution for a receding hairline, some men have reported improvement in that area. One reason that Opti-Men is a fraction of the price of Procerin is that it has a fraction of the ingredients. That is a different product intended for a different purpose. If you want to start mixing ingredients to come up with your own version of a product for hair loss, that is a lot of work but it can be done. You start by looking at the ingredients of the products already on the market and ask yourself how they might be improved. That is what the people at Provillus did.

Subj: Rogaine foam with Procerin?
Date: 12/6/2009
I been using the rogaine foam now for about two weeks and notice my hair is shedding. I just ordered a supply of procerin tablets and serum and just started taking the tablets today. Should I continue to use the rogaine when taking the tablets and serum? If I stop taking the product will my hair start to thin again?

Aurel

AskDocWeb: Both Rogaine foam and the Procerin serum contain minoxidil. Using both would be double the recommended amount of minoxidil, which would likely be too much for your scalp. According to the Mayo Clinic an overdose of minoxidil could result in erectile dysfunction.

Subj: My 3rd post
Date: 12/6/2009
This is my 3rd post, I started Procerin back in July, to start with I noticed in the first 2 months I lost very little hair, it was amazing. When I used to put wax in my hair I would have load of hair on my hands 2 months in using procerin I would have 2 or 3. Then in September/October I stated losing alot of hair and I still am. I have read this could be the shedding process but I am now worried as this has been going out for about 6-8 weeks now. I am thinking if its still like this in Jan I think I will stop taking the pills. Have you any advice, any ideas what I could take next. I read some good things on Provillus. Regards,

Adam

AskDocWeb: We are also reading about those good things. At this point the Provillus Complete Solution is looking better than Procerin. For those that try it, you can add your feedback here.

Subj: My hair loss has stopped
Date: 12/9/2009
I started taking Procerin a couple months ago. I haven’t noticed any hair re-growth however my hair loss has stopped. I’m not sure it’s directly related to Procerin or not. After my next hair cut, I’ll decide whether or not to purchase another 3 month supply.

Subj: Testosterone level
Date: 12/14/2009
Hi – thanks for a great website! I’m 23 years old and I’ve been losing my hair since I was maybe 18 – its not dramatic loss but I have the classic M shape taking on quite a shape – recently I’ve noticed that the top has thinned quite a bit as well as the sides. I went to my doctor recently ( approx. 3/4 months ago ) over acne on my back, he said the cause was a high level of testerone in the body? And that this needed to be regulated so I was put on a course of tetralysal – would procerin be the best product for my hair as it is natural and as far as I can see it would not interfere with the testosterone which is currently being regulated? Also on a side note – Is my testerone level having an effect on my hair loss – Love the site – thanks in advance.

Kog

AskDocWeb: It sounds like you may have misunderstood your doctor. Tetralysal (generic name: Lymecycline) belongs to a group of drugs called tetracycline antibiotics. It is used to treat many kinds of infections caused by bacteria but the main use is to treat acne. It interferes with the production of proteins that bacteria need to multiply, which inhibits their growth (bacteriostatic). Tetralysal may regulate your acne but it has no effect on your testosterone level. There are no interactions listed for combining Tetralysal and Procerin.

Subj: Peach fuzz growing on my temples
Date: 12/19/2009
I just recently turned 20 and notice my hairline slightly receding. I been using the rogaine foam for about about a month now and notice more hair loss on the crown. I ordered some procerin tabs and serum and started taking the tabs like for 3 weeks now and notice my hair hair loss has slowed down. I just recently started using the serum and about a week later, I notice the peach fuzz growing on my temples. One side of my forehead has grown more peach fuzz looking hair than the other side. Is this normal? I been applying the serum only once a day in the night. Should I apply more than just once a day? Should I continue to use the rogaine foam for my crown?

Aurel

AskDocWeb: If the results you are getting are encouraging then it would seem to be a good idea to continue with however you are using these products. Keep in mind that hair growth takes time and you need to be patient. Give it 6 months before deciding on any change in what you are doing. And if you make a change in your regime, change only one thing at a time so you can be sure of the effect. Uneven hair growth is common but it may also fill out later if you give it time. Glad to hear that you are having some success.

Subj: Procerin and Advecia
Date: 12/19/2009
Is it safe to use Procerin and Advecia together? I have been on Procerin for a while now and am wondering if I should boost the effects with Advecia and the minerals it provides. Also is there any research on how effective the serum for Procerin is because I am only taking the pills. Any imput would be great appreciated. Thanks,

Sean

AskDocWeb: If you don’t eat a well balanced diet then adding Advecia may be a good idea and there have been no problems reported from doing that. On the other hand, the serum has received mixed reviews. Several men have report success with it but they don’t like the way the serum smells.

Subj: Dandruff and receding hair line
Date: 12/24/2009
Hi, I am 24 years old. I started losing my hairline from 22. At first I started losing hair near the temple but had thick hair in the rest of the scalp. But now, I have very thin hair even in the front area along with the temple. I am also suffering from severe dandruff. I have been using Head & shoulder every alternate day which brought the dandruff down but haven’t had any success with receding hair. It’s decreasing at a rapid pace. My barber told me that I will go bald by 28 and I am pretty scared about that fact. So I ordered just the procerin pills and started using them since NOV 14th 2009 and also ordered Nisim Bio factors shampoo. So its been 1.5 months till date. I dont know if my hair is growing or not. I dint see much difference till now. But since I stopped using head and shoulders and moved to Nisim, I am now getting lot of dandruff. Even after taking head bath, in just 2 hours I am feeling itchy and scratch the scalp. I observed that I now have more dandruff than I used to have. Please suggest how to get rid of dandruff. I feel so itchy and scratch my head so many times without knowing. Also how to know if Procerin is working for me or not? I would like to know what combinations are really good to stop receding hair line (I am losing it mostly in the front part of the scalp). Procerin+Nisim+anything else? Or Procerin+Rogaine+any shampoo? Or should I use Procerin pills+Procerin lotion.

Adonis

AskDocWeb: So many people have asked about dandruff that we put together some basic solutions here. We are currently re-evaluating our recommendation but whatever you are using you need to give it time to work. That means 6 months for an honest appraisal. Read more feedback about Procerin.
