Subj: I didn’t expect to see growth there
Date: 11/5/2010
Hi, I’m 42. I have very, very fine hair and my scalp has always been very visible. I’ve also always had quite a vicious windows peak. A bit of a double wammy! Since about 19 years of age (probably old enough to actually start going bald) people have constantly told me that I’m losing my hair! Both balding and receding! Well, over the last year even I think I started to believe it and I’m pretty damn sure it was the weight training I was doing (I got far too into it). I stopped weight training and after a few weeks I do believe that I noticed very fine, almost baby hair growing in between where I thought I was going thin. I decided to take Minoxidil (2%) and reading about Procerin, I bought a 3 month supply.
I’ve now been taking both for around 3- weeks. There is definitely more hair growing where I thought I was thinning but these are much finer than even my fine strands. Not yet thick enough to visibly fill the area, but can be seen if you look closely and under certain light. I hope this is regrowth rather than existing strands dying! Interestingly, I’m seeing hair strands growing in front of my existing hair line which suggests I have actually receded a little too. I didn’t expect to see growth their. I’ve also been using Nisim shampoo for two weeks but only was twice a week. Very nice shampoo. Not sure which is the key ingredient but I keep my fingers crossed for the next two-three months. I’ll keep everyone updated!

Hi, I am 17 years old, my temples have receded enough to give me an M shape. I’m thinking of going to the doctor to get procerin. My grandfather on my mothers side was completely balded by the time he was 40, and my dad is 44 and his hair is thinning a bit. I am currently taking 1440mg of saw palmetto daily. Should I get a prescription? Or am I too Paranoid?
Kevin
AskDocWeb: No prescription is needed to get Procerin but at 17 you may just be overly concerned. We wouldn’t recommend anything until getting an evaluation by a dermatologist.
Subj: 47 year old

I have been using it for a few years, since I was diagnosed with Lupus, and had to start an aggressive medical treatment regimens, which collectively had my hair falling out in clumps, as well as causing my eyelashes and eyebrows to thin out by at least 50%. Within 3 months of starting to use Procerin, I started to feel (with my hand) and see a lot of short hair growth, starting to fill in the gaps, as well as across my scalp in general. I also noticed the previously significant amount of hair that came out in the shower had virtually completely stopped falling out. After about 1 year of use of Procerin, my hair was back to where it was in my late 20’s/early 30’s (I’m now 47 years old).
Interestingly, and confirming that it was actually the Procerin causing the benefits I was experiencing, I found that the benefit tracked with my continued use of it. For example, one month I had thought I ran out, but then found an old, mostly full container of mine from about 18 months earlier. After finishing that old container, I noticed that my hair was starting to fall out a little again. Based on the fact that this container was in a bathroom cabinet, I knew it had been exposed to a fair amount of heat and moisture, which I thought might have reduced its potency /effectiveness. Sure enough, within 2 weeks of starting with a new, fresh containers again, my hair stopped falling out and everything continued growing as before.
Finally, I also noticed that my hair was more healthy, and (although I am not sure if it because of the Procerin), the gray that started coming in in my early 40’s has substantially stopped, as I only have maybe a half dozen gray hairs at any time.
Obviously, I cannot say enough positive things about my very positive experience with Procerin. The fact that it helped in a major way by completely reversing my multiple-whammy of age plus a severe immune system impairment and Chemo related to Lupus, has been nothing short of amazing to me and my doctors. Due to my genetics, where all the males in both my Dad and Mom’s family went bald in their 30’s-40’s, I figure that given that and my Lupus, I had no chance of keeping my hair. Anyway, I was completely wrong, as Procerin did exactly what they said it would– great job, and thanks!

Subj: It doesn’t appear to be working
Date: 11/30/2010
I don’t mean to be pessimistic but I have now been using Procerin for 9 months – it doesn’t appear to be working for me. My hair has continued to thin. Do you have any suggestions for what I can try next (not minoxidil/propecia)? Has anyone heard about Nanogen?
Danny
AskDocWeb: Two people have reported using Nanogen but both reviews were bad. They reported increased heart beat and chest pains. As an alternative you might take a look at Nisim New Hair Biofactors
Subj: Cost of procerin

what is the cost of procerin?

AskDocWeb: It appears that they have a range of prices depending on volume. Since prices are likely to change over time, why not just go to their website and see for yourself?
Subj: Liquid saw-palmentto extract
Date: 12/15/2010
I am 24 and have had thinning hair for the past 2-3 years. I have taken topical minidoxil regularly for about a year with no signs of stopping or reversing my hair loss. I bought a supply of Procerin and have been taking them as directed for about a week alongside the minidoxil that I still have around. I have suffered feelings of nausea and slight diarrhea, as well as dry-mouth since taking Procerin. All of these side effects have been slight, and seem to be getting better, so I am continuing to take Procerin with high hopes. I understand the active ingredient in Procerin is saw-palmetto extract, and I believe the Procerin “serum” is essentially liquid saw-palmentto extract, so I ordered liquid saw-palmetto extract by itself (much cheaper) to take in conjunction with Procerin and the last of my minidoxil supply. I hope the liquid extract doesn’t smell too bad (laughs) and I will be happy to report back in a month or so. Good luck to all the younger guys experiencing hair loss. I know it’s tough.
Jonathan
AskDocWeb: Thanks Jonathan, we look forward to your report but give it at least three months for an honest evaluation. Good luck.
Subj: Hairline thinning
Date: 12/16/2010
I just bought my 3 month supply and im dieing for it to work. Im 18 an noticed my hairline thinning back since i was 16… Its depressing an kills my self esteem everyday. I smoke cannabis almost everyday so i want to make sure that wont cause more hair loss. And also, it being that my hair started falling out at such a young, does that better my chances of my hair returning? And what are my odds that if i stop taking procerin after my hair returns that it will fall out? Thanks
Chris
AskDocWeb: Treatments are often more successful when started early. However, hair loss can be caused by medical conditions such as thyroid or other problems so getting a complete physical is encouraged.
As far as we know there have been no studies to confirm a connection between marijuana and hair loss. However, there are many antidotal references asserting that it does happen. We know that the THC collects in hair follicles, hence the hair test for it, so it does get in the follicles.
Subj: Question about shedding
Date: 12/29/2010
Hi, I am thinking of buying procerin, but I am kind of afraid of reported shedding. My question is? If shedding happens let’s say and I lose amount of hair and I stop taking the pills. Will the hair that fallout due to the procerin going to grow back later or that is permament extra los of hair. Please if you can give me trutfull answer. Thank you very much.
Considering using procerin
AskDocWeb: We don’t know because there is no data about those who stopped using it at the first sign of shedding. Most men do not go through an initial period of shedding however, it has been reported to occur in a small percentage of men with every product that we have looked at that is used to treat hair loss. Those who report shedding and continue using the product also report an overall gain in hair growth.

Subj: One year of Procerin
Date: 1/6/2011
I have been taking Procerin for the past year and my hairloss seems to have slowed. I was considering using Rogaine in conjunction with this; however, currently I apply an organic sunblock to my head each day and I was wondering what I should apply first to obtain the best results. Also, do you happen to know what are the reported side effects of using Rogaine? Thank you so much for your help.
Mike
AskDocWeb: The active ingredient in Rogaine is minoxidil and the side effects are listed here along with 41 pages of feedback from those using it.
