Subj: 2 pathways
Date: 4/30/2004
I am concidering discontinuing the use of Propecia because of the high cost, and trying a course of Procerin or some such product containing beta sitosterol (from saw palmetto). However in my research into herbal products I have read that there are 2 pathways in the formation of DHT from testosterone. Propecia apparently only blocks one of the pathways. Do the active ingredients found in Procerin, in theory, block the conversion of testosterone to DHT along both pathways?
Geoff
AskDocWeb: We are looking in to this “2 pathways” idea. What we found seems to apply to the way women produce androgens, or male hormones. We know that most women lose hair for reasons different than men, and there are differences in the way hormones function in men and women. So far, it is not clear if men also have more than one way to produce testosterone or if this is why treatments for men don’t work for most women. Also note that producing testosterone and producing DHT from testosterone are two different things.
Subj: Hair loss almost completely stopped
Date: 4/30/2004
I’m 17, and have been taking procerin for about a month now. My hair loss is in very very early stages, so it isn’t really noticeable. But because I see myself in the mirror everyday, I can tell. Since taking Procerin, the hair loss has almost completely stopped. I used to comb my hair after taking a shower and find 20-25 hairs in the brush when I was done. Now, I probably see 5 hairs in it. And this is only after less then a month. No regrowth experienced yet. Because I’m so young, will regrowth be a lot more likely for me?
Colin
AskDocWeb: That depends on too many factors we don’t know about, but being young is definitely in your favor. It’s good to hear that Procerin is working for you.
Subj: Difference in pills?
Date: 5/1/2004
I have been taking Procerin for exactly three months with no significant results, however I have ordered more. The pills in the shipment I just received seemed different from my prior order, they are harder, unlike the dusty powdery pills I received three months ago. Has any one else noticed a change?
John
AskDocWeb: Yes, the manufacturer seems to have responded to customers feedback and changed the binder and coating (CJ9 and CJ11 factors), so the pills hold together better.
Subj: Skeptical
Date: 5/1/2004
Been taking procerin for almost a month now. I started taking it because my already receding hairline has gone further and further back since new years. I am almost 21 and would like to delay the balding process for a couple of years. I’ve noticed that I DEFINATELY lost more hair since I’ve been taking procerin. I actually think I’ve lost more hair since I’ve been taking the product than I have overall in the past year. I also started taking nioxin. I have not noticed anything but rapid hairloss. I am hoping that some of this hair will grow back but I am probably going to try to get a prescription to propecia. I don’t find windspeed nutrition to be a trustworthy company. My bottle looked like someone manually placed on a sticker and the package looked like something I would mail to someone. There was absolutely no information about the product or company provided in the package. Also on there site they have an affiliate sign up page and not a customer service page. Not to mention they have created or affiliated with wbsites that advocate all their products from penis and breast enlargement pills to legal steroids. So if your thinking of procerin I’d recommend that you spend an extra penny and get some propecia. However, saw palmetto is believed to be a way of naturally deterring DHT soooo you never know…I am going to complete the three months anyway I’ll keep you all posted on how it goes.

Subj: Does it work?
Date: 5/3/2004

Terry
AskDocWeb: That’s what we are finding out with our Procerin Study.
Subj: Nu hair
Date: 5/4/2004
Hi, I have been taking procerin for 2 months with little results. I was at the drug store and saw vitamins called nu hair. Do you know anything good or bad about this product? It claims a 94% success rate? And is it ok to take with procerin? I’m 25 and trying to battle this as fast as possible! Thanks for the site! Joe
Joseph
AskDocWeb: Yes, according to their website you can treat menopause and hair loss at the same time. Their website looks like they did a fairly good job of translating Chinese into English. Or maybe it’s just looks that way because most of their references are from China. By the way, has anyone tried acupuncture for hair loss?
Subj: Seeing results
Date: 5/4/2004
My apology for being impatient AskDocWeb from my last posting! I just want to add one thing about procerin. I have been taking procerin for the last 3 weeks or so and I am seeing results due to its effectiveness. My hairs definitely have thickened since I started using procerin along with 5% Rogain. I also use Tricomin Shampoo and conditioner products as well which I highly recommend for hair care.
I experience some slight daze at times but I think it’s from lack of sleep. To rephrase that (Not that I can’t sleep and its just lack of having time to sleep). I know for sure that I will continue using procerin as long as it’s effect is an advantage to my need.

Subj: Pulling hair
Date: 5/6/2004
I have been taking procerin with Revivogen for 2 months now. I am going through a gradual shedding phase around the frontal region. If I tug moderately at my hair, one or two would come out with the bulbs on the end. Will this hair come back as part of a growth cycle or not?
Kman
AskDocWeb: Not if you are pulling it out with the roots attached. That’s not funny, stop it. (Added 5/24/07) Please read the disclaimer page on Revivogen’s website.
Subj: Available in Australia?
Date: 5/7/2004
I have always had fairly thin hair on my crown and I’m not sure if it’s thinning further. Is there any risk in taking Procerin if I’m not actually losing hair? Also, is Procerin available locally in Australia? Thank you.
Tim
AskDocWeb: So far, we have noted that a few men experience nausea if taking it on an empty stomach. As of 5/1/2004, we found Procerin available only from the US website at procerin.com. We will list other sources as we find out about them.
Subj: Barber commented
Date: 5/7/2004
I have used Procerin for 3 months and I am astounded at the results. Not only has my hair loss stopped, but it is growing back and thickening. My barber even commented that “It looks like your hair has gotten fuller” not knowing that I was using it.

Subj: Last stand
Date: 5/8/2004
I am 34 years old and have been fighting the battle with hairloss since I was 21. I have tried many of the cure all products on the market over the years. I recently just stop using the Hairmax laser comb because it just wasn’t working for me. I purchased a six month supply of Procerin, and have been on it for about a month. So far I have not experienced any negetive side effects or any new hair growth, but will continue to use the product for the next 5 months. As this will be my last stand against hairloss, I will continue to monitor your web site and post (if any) my progress with Procerin… Thank you.
Joel
Subj: In just 3 weeks
Date: 5/9/2004
I am 24 and was experiencing a receding hairling/thinning. It took only 3 weeks of Procerin to notice small hairs coming in and it seems like all of my hair is thinker/stronger already. I’ve also noticed no sexual side effects or stomach problems, and my stomach is easily upset

Subj: Procerin with HairGenesis?
Date: 5/10/2004
I’m 35 years of age and I’ve been using Procerin for just over three months now and have noticed that while I don’t have the hair I did when I was a teenager, it has gotten slightly thicker. My question to you is are you familiar with HairGenesis and know if it is an effective product? Additionally, do you know if there would be added benefit to using both Procerin and HairGenesis together?
Erick
AskDocWeb: You may want to read the fine print about the guarantee offered by HairGenesis or you may be disappointed when trying to get a refund. The 12 month-100% guarantee only applies to the first 10 days after purchasing a 12-month supply.
Subj: Feedback
Date: 5/10/2004
I have come across some very insightful information as to why this product may not be all it seems. The main thing that concerns me is as to how all feedback sites and so-called “anonymous user-feedback” is fabricated from the company itself. Please check it out at: (some other website) I am actually regrowing hair, but I think its more to do with Revivogen than Procerin.
K’man
AskDocWeb: If all the feedback is fabricated then why do we have people yelling at us for being 3 weeks behind with the posting? Then again K’man, your feedback would also have come from the company. Do you work for the makers of Procerin? We don’t think so and you know better. Don’t believe everything you read. (Added 5/24/07) Please read the disclaimer page on Revivogen’s website.
Subj: Nu Hair
Date: 5/10/2004
Hi, I’m 25 with some front hair loss and rear hair loss. I have been taking procerin for 2 1/2 months now and the loss has died down but no regrowth. I am interested in Nu Hair. Have you heard anything good or bad about it? Thank you!
JOE
AskDocWeb: It seems they have opened a business in Chicago, Illinois to sell Chinese herbal medicine. We have no feedback on them yet.
Subj: Procerin with Melancor?
Date: 5/10/2004
Currently, I am taking procerin. I am planning to take Melancor NH. Is there any side effect taking procerin with Melancor. Thank you
Ron
AskDocWeb: There are no known side effects of taking Procerin with Melancor. When I called their toll free number, I talked with an older woman who told me about her husband using it. I got the impression this is a “Mom and Pop” business run from their home. Google gives their website a zero rating of importance, perhaps because they went online April 1st of 2003, and haven’t updated for the last 14 months.
Subj: Funny dreams
Date: 5/13/2004
I just started taking Procerin a couple of days ago and even though I’m beginning to think its a scam I thought I might as well give it a go. However, when I take two tablet dosage before I go to bed I have been experiencing funny dreams and feelings. Last night I woke-up quite distressed due to the fact that I thought my bed was on numerous levels (don’t laugh) and I needed to switch the light on because I felt quite disorientated. I got back to sleep however, only to have the most strange dream about a flying car and my local chip shop establishment. Very weird it was! Have you had any more reports about sleepness nights and funny dreams due to Procerin? It must be the Saw Palmetto berries. I’ll keep you updated over the coming weeks.
Warren
AskDocWeb: You are the first to report cool dreams. Wish I could dream about buzzing around in a flying car!
Subj: It works
Date: 5/17/2004
I have been using procerin for 2 months and it stop my hair loss and my hair is growing back. The hair is growning faster at the front and slower in the middle but it’s growing back and that’s all I care about. I’m a 26 year old black male and I started losing my hair when I was 20 years old. I thought these pills was only for white boys but they’re working for me. Best when taken after lunch and dinner. It works, and in about one more month I can put away my hats and get my confidence back.

Subj: Thinning a little bit
Date: 6/2/2004
I’m 20 years old and I have started to notice my hair thinning a little bit, especially in the front on the sides. Would it be a good idea for me to try out procerin? Are there any potential negative effects of taking it early, such as it causing me to go bald even faster? Thanks.
Jason
AskDocWeb: We know of no negative effects of taking it early. One good thing about starting early is that there is less stress involved, and we know stress can cause hair loss. If you are keeping track of your hair loss every day then go ahead and try it. And let us know how you come out.
Subj: Ordering
Date: 6/2/2004
I need a favor. I do not have a pc at home. I use the one at work. I am a main-frame systems analyst. Every time I click on the word “procerin” I get blocked out. Therefore I have no way of ordering procerin. Can you or someone supply me with the ordering address, price, shipping and handling charges, etc? It would be most helpful.
John
AskDocWeb: Sorry John, as far as we know, Procerin is only available through their website.
