Subj: Good luck
Date: 5/3/2004
I just turned 28, I guess I really started to notice my hair loss about 5 or 6 years ago. I have a receding hairline starting in the front making my forehead look much bigger, most severe to the left and right of center. Some hair loss (very slight) towards the top rear of my head which I only expect to get worse, seeing as this is how my Grandfather on my Mothers side started out and he is now a classic horse-shoe pattern. All in all, a slow but very steady (and painfully heartbreaking) process.
I tried Avacor for 6 months but I hated using the topical, which I still have half of left, but as far as the pill with the DHT blocker I believe it may have slowed the process. That is why I am going to partake in what is left of this study. I believe (or hope) that this will be the pill for me until something better comes along. Well here’s to my 1st try of Procerin, good luck everyone and thank you for this great forum.
P.S. I do go out to the bar about 3 times a week, I heard that may play a factor.
Rob
AskDocWeb: Thanks Rob and good luck.
Subj: Questions
Date: 5/4/2004
I am 21 years old, and about 6 months or so ago, I noticed that single strands of hair started falling out regularly. Now I usually pull out at least 5 of them when I am in the shower, and then at least another 5 when I gel my hair afterwards. There is baldness on my father’s side, but not my mother’s (as far as I can tell). My hairline has receded somewhat, but it still is not noticeable, although I can tell its reaching that point and getting thinner at the temples.
I have been taking Procerin for approximately 1 1/3 months now. In my first month, I missed a few “treatments” here and there, but I now have gotten a regimen down, and I haven’t missed at all with this second bottle (I take at high noon and midnight). I would be totally distraught if my hairline receded to the point of being noticeable, and I am willing to try anything to keep it full and thick.
I have two questions: 1) Is it true that taking the morning and night pills at the same time everyday 12 hours apart will yield the best results? 2) If I take Procerin with other pills and vitamins (a multi-vitamin, vitamin C, lysene, and an allergy pill to be exact), will that possibly dilute its effectiveness at all?
Noel
AskDocWeb: Number one seems to be true. Number two is probably not a problem. What could be a problem is taking too much of a single B vitamin. This seems to cause depletion in the other B vitamins so we recommend, if you take a B vitamin, that you take a multi-vitamin B complex.
Subj: 2½ weeks – Kevin
Date: 5/5/2004
Hey, I am 24 and my hair has been receeding for a couple of years now. I have been using Procerin for about 2 and a half weeks and I have noticed a significant number of new hairs filling in the previously bald spots(probably 20 or so on each side of my temples). This is very exciting to me. I feel very lucky to be one of the ones that Procerin works for. I can’t wait to see how much more hair regrows as time goes on. I will keep you all updated!!

Subj: Just starting – Warren
Date: 5/5/2004
I’ve just received my first three bottles of Procerin today and will be starting the first bottle in a few days time. I’m 24 and started to get a receeding hair line when I was about 22. It seemed to slow down and stop a few months after I noticed it. However, over the past few months it seemed to have stared again and got much worse. Hope Procerin does work and I’ll keep you all updated (and maybe some pics too).

Subj: Honestly speaking
Date: 5/7/2004
I read all the comments. Honestly speaking, I am not reassured of the positive claims. How come not one mentioned that he is using procerin for more than a year now and would wish to continue because it is so good. I have used out 3 out of 6 bottles, if it’s gonna work out, it should have worked out good enough. Somebody…Please help!!!
Mer
AskDocWeb: You are correct. The longest period of use that we have recorded is eleven months (that one was still using Procerin). That is one of the problems with new products, not enough of a track record to satisfy us. That’s why we are doing this study.
Subj: 29 year old
Date: 5/9/2004
I am 29 years old and losing my hair in the crown area. It started thinning around 3 years ago. I looked at some research about hairloss products on line. I decided to try a 6 month supply of procerin. Now I am on my 6th bottle and have noticed my hair is not falling out anymore but none is regrowing either. I went a head and purchased another 6 month supply to see if hair growth will occur. I also tried rogaine. It worked as far as losing the hair and a little regrowing but not enough to keep spending the money and putting up with the mess. I was thinking of avacor until I seen your website and the avacor site said usually will not see results for a year on average. It cost $239.00 for 3 months just imagine the price for a year. Procerin was only $99.00 for 6 months. I will update you on progress.

Hi there I’m a 25 yr. old male who up until about 2 yrs ago had a thick full head of hair. I have always heard the myth baldness comes from your mother’s father. Well in this case my Grandfather had a full thick head of hair until he died around 74. So obviously this isn’t the case. I ordered procerin about 3 mo. ago started taking it then stopped. Didn’t really notice anything but I have started taking it again and have taken pictures and documented this as well. I was in the Army for about 3yrs and didn’t really notice any hairloss until then. Can any of the shots they gave me have an effect or is it just timing and coincidence.
Bryan
P.S. your site is what made me start taking it again!
AskDocWeb: We made a list of some of the drugs that usually cause hair loss along with drugs that sometimes cause hair loss. You might want to take a look to see if any are familiar.
Subj: Signing up
Date: 5/14/2004
I’m a 32 year old white male who is interested in signing up for your procerin study. I have been using Propecia for a year now, and I want to try something new.

AskDocWeb: If you want to try Procerin by itself and be included in our study, send us your name and address. If you use Procerin with another product there is no need to send your address. You can post your progress (or lack of progress) here.
Subj: A question
Date: 5/15/2004
I’ve been on procerin for a week and a half now and haven’t seen results so far. In fact it might be increasing the loss but I may be being paranoid. I’ll certainly keep you informed.
I do have a question for AskDocWeb however- have you seen many positive results for procerin 1st hand, i.e. in friends or colleagues? I know you say its not worth salesman coming here and posting bogus reports but it is very much possible. The honest opinion of AskDocWeb is one I’d be inclined to trust a lot more than an anonymous testimonial. Apologies for not trusting people, it’s just that on this Internet there’s no way to tell and there IS a lot of rubbish out there! Many thanks.
Chris
AskDocWeb: We have seen positive results first hand in one individual. The details will be posted next month along with our initial assessment. As for anyone posting bogus reports, we have several ways we validate feedback to avoid fraud. Hope you understand if we don’t say what they are.

I think this web-site is great. I have come across web-sites that said Procerin is the best product out there and so I ordered it. Then I found some web-sites accussing the web-sites saying that Procerin in #1 to be false, so that was a bit upsetting. I haven’t received my order yet but after reading a lot of the reviews I am hopeful that it will work. I am only 23 so I am hoping that might help as well, plus although my hair is naturally thin my hair loss is pretty mild, mostly a little thinning within the hairline but with the help of a hair dryer when styling my hair I am still able to make it look as though my hair is thick as ever, but a recent scar I got in my hairline hasn’t helped the situation either and I have started to comb my hair in the other direction to cover it. Anyway, I am going to wait 3 months before posting again, but if I see anything before that I will let everybody know. I was also wondering, can anybody recommend a good shampoo that helps stop hair loss and helps regrow hair? Good Luck to everybody in the same boat as I am, hopefully we can with this battle.
Pete
Subj: The gurrantee
Date: 5/18/2004
This is a short update to my letter of 2/25/04. At that time I had been taking Porcerin for a month. I stopped taking it after another month because of insomnia. I returned the unused four bottles and received a full refund. The gurrantee is legitimate.

I have heard about Procerin, but not sure if it really works. Thanks you all for giving me hope in this product. When this study ends, will there be before and after pictures for us to see?
Gor
AskDocWeb: Hopefully – we will post whatever pictures are sent to us.
Subj: 4 months – David
Date: 6/2/2004
Hi I’m 29 and have been using Procerin for about 4 months. I’ve definitely noticed that I’m losing less hair than before (little or none when washing) and my hair has thickened substantially. I was also taking Propecia, but after a year of forking out alot of money for no results, I stopped it. I just had my hair cut & coloured, and for the first time in a while, I feel alot better about it. I know everyone has different experiences, but if you’re fed up with Propecia (who promise the world but can’t deliver), then perhaps give Procerin a try.

My age is 45. I start one week ago. No side effects at all. My hair is receding from my temple area and above my forehead. I will give an update at the end of my first month.

Subj: Off topic?
Date: 6/9/2004
I know this is off topic, but I’m curious as to whether you can purchase Procerin at any stores?
Dave
AskDocWeb: As far as we know, it is only available from their website.
Subj: 1 month – Mitchell
Date: 6/18/2004
I’ve been using Procerin for about four weeks and I’m extremely pleased with the results. There’s been noticeable growth of hair at my forehead hairline, I would estimate that it’s started to advance about 1/4 inch. I anticipate that in time it will be much fuller. Additionally, the hair on the top of my head also appears much fuller.

Subj: Where do we stand?
Date: 6/22/2004
25. Losing hair since late teens. Et al. Have been taking Propecia for a few years. It loves me, it loves me not… depending on the angle of the sunlight. Like many of us in the empire, I walk on the shaded side of the street, forgot how to swim, and spend hours on the internet searching for Jesus. But I’m afraid to try something like Procerin in part because doctors (perhaps bureaucratically) refuse to advocate anything that isn’t medicine, and because like anyone once-bitten, I fear those transient start-up companies that denounce the established competition and then thirstily suck the money from your veins. Propecia does not cost 120 dollars a month. It costs 60. So before those on “the Prop” switch from 66% bad to 88% terrible, please tell us where AskDocWeb and Procerin stand. Respectfully and hopefully,
Dave
AskDocWeb: One of the biggest problems in making a choice like this is that we are looking at two different “class” of products. On the one hand we have drugs that are approved by the FDA (In the U.S.A.). Drugs have to pass expensive clinical testing before going on sale. Pharmaceutical companies are willing to fund this research because they hope to recover their costs and make a profit.
On the other hand we have a different class of products, herbal products, that are not controlled by the FDA. There is no approval process and very little motivation for conducting research. Herbs can not be patented like drugs, and can be grown by just about anyone. We believe that as long as this is the case, herbal products will never be subjected to the kind of clinical testing that drugs have to go through.
Where does that leave us? We have small, privately funded studies like the ones we are doing. We stated right from the start that this was not an expensive clinical, double blind research project like those done by the pharmaceutical companies. It is what we can afford and we believe it gives us information we can use. Many people are grateful to be able to read comments written by actual users of the product. And despite what you may have read on another website, we have security in place to make sure that only verified participants are counted in our statistics. Those stats show that 38% of men who used Procerin reported growth of new hair. We believe this is enough positive evidence to continue our study and will make our final recommendation in January.
