Stopping and starting again
I started taking propecia 18 months ago with no side effects and great results. I need to stop to get blood work done with out it in my system. How long does it take for my hormones to come back to normal? And when I restart in a month or two months will I still be able to save some of the hair I saved over the last 18 months.
AskDocWeb: Unfortunately there is a lack of research regarding stopping and starting again so we can’t even guess what results you might get.
Side effects of Propecia
I’m 58 years old, married for 27 years and have always had a vert active sex life. Until recently I have been able to achieve orgasm at least three times per week, or more. I’ve been taking 1 mg of Finasteride for 30 days now, and I’m experiencing unwanted side effects: My ejaculate level is about 30% (reduced 70%) of what it was prior to taking it. This lack of ejaculate appears to make my orgasms not as long or powerful, they complete sooner. My erection is about 20% smaller than what it was. My non-erect penis also appears to be about 20% smaller or more. When I do outside physical activities I’m weaker, and get chills. Also, my penis withdraws further into my body and appears very small. So, unless I can find evidence that these symptoms will eventually go away while continuing on the medication, then I’m going to have to quit taking it…and let my hair fall out…
