Hypothyroidism

I have hypothyroidism, have there been any known side effects with synthroid, while taking provillus? Also what does it cost in the u.s.? I’m not giving them any information unless I know these 2 things.

Hyperthyroid or rapid heartbeats?

Hi, I just started using provillus. I have an hyperthyroid, I lost most of my hair. Can I use provillus? Even though I have hyperthyroid? Does it cause any side effects or any rapid heartbeats etc. Thanks!

After you are done using Provillus

I’m not going bald but my hair has thinned out over the last several years. I keep it parted in the middle so it’s not as noticeable. Is provillus safe to take? Can it cause you to lose more hair when taking or after you are done using it?

AskDocWeb: It sounds like you might be thinking that Provillus is a cure for hair loss. That is NOT the case for this or any other product used to treat hair loss. Currently there is NO cure for hair loss, there are only treatments. All of the treatments share a common characteristic: they have to be used continuously in order to keep the benefits. If you stop using a treatment you lose the hair that you would have lost if you had never taken the treatment.

Provillus is safe for most people but if you are taking any medication, check with your doctor before using any herbal supplement, that includes Provillus.

Shower question

I’ve had great results with Provillus over the past 3 months. One question: I understand it is best to apply it to dry scalp. How long should I wait to take a shower after applying? Will taking a shower immediately after applying reduce effectiveness?

AskDocWeb: Please read the directions. The topical solution is meant to be applied to a dry scalp after shampooing and needs time to soak into the skin. Taking a show immediately after applying the product would wash it out before it had a chance to work.

After you stop

What happens after you stop taking Provillus? because I heard when you stop using a hair loss medication, than you will loose more.

AskDocWeb: When you stop using a product that has prevented hair loss, you lose the hair that you would have lost if you had not used that product. After losing the “benefit hair” the rate of hair loss return to what it was before using it. To keep the benefits you have to continue using the product. This is also true for Propecia and Minoxidil. That is why these products are called treatments instead of cures. There is no cure for hair loss, only treatments.

Receding hairline

AskDocWeb: A small percentage of men have reported success in that area but for most guys the answer is no. Provillus is more likely to slow the rate of hair loss unless you are one of the lucky few to get that extra benefit.

Hereditary MPB?

I’m 19 years old and have noticed thinning and shedding hair for about 2 years now. My father is bald so I’m going to assume it’s hereditary. I’ve done extensive research and it seems like provillus is the best option. I still have a pretty solid head of hair but you can definitely tell that there is thinning. Does provillus work with hereditary mpb? Also I’ve heard that the best results are evident when provillus is used as a precautionary measure and is started as early as possible. Thoughts?

AskDocWeb: Hi Josh, welcome to the forum. The data that we have on Provillus does not distinguish between hereditary MPB and hair loss from other causes. That would take many thousands of dollars that are not available for research. In most cases those who start treatment early obtain the best results. It is almost always less expensive to prevent a problem than it is to remedy it later.

Frontal boldness

Hi, I just bought Provillus and received both the drops and the pills. I was surprised when I noticed a warning on the box saying I shouldn’t use this product if I am loosing on the front of the scalp. the problem is, I bought this product specifically for frontal hair loss. My question is: would this product affect me or my hair in any way if use it for frontal boldness?

AskDocWeb: We can’t predict how well any product will work on the front hairline for any specific individual. Although a few men have report success in that area Provillus has not been shown to work on the front hairline for most men.

Wondering

Hi i was wondering.. coz im currently in birth control now so that is the cause of my hair loss.. and so i just bought Provillus 2% will this be effective?

AskDocWeb: Just how effective it will be is something that can’t be predicted for any specific individual. However, it does contain an FDA approved medication to treat hair loss so there is hope. Of course others want to know the same thing so be sure to report your progress in about three months.

When I used Provillus about 7 years ago, the side effect was ED. I know that Provillus says that it has only natural ingredients but there is some confusion since I have read that minoxidil is included in it. I don’t know whether it was the minoxidil or some other ingredient that caused the problem. Be very careful before taking this product.

AskDocWeb: The Provillus pill contain only natural ingredients. It is the topical solution sold with the pills that contains minoxidil. According to the Mayo Clinic, using too much minoxidil can produce sexual side effects.

Taking Provillus

Hi ive just ordered some provillus capsules it said take 2 capsules per day. Should you take them at the same time or twice during the day.Also i notice that most of capsule is made of sawpalmetto is this a safe dosage to take on a daily basis. Thankyou
