Ingrown hair
Date: 3/10/2012
Initially I was very pleased with the results however now I can honestly say that my face is in worse condition than when I started. Almost every hair has returned ingrown. It is very disturbing and I have stopped using the product. While Vaniqa impacts 2% of the population with ingrown hair, it’s unfortunate that I am in that category. I guess it’s electrolysis now for me, unfortunately because my hairs are mainly very light and coarse.

For ingrown hairs
Date: 3/13/2012
For those who are getting ingrown hairs or follicle issues, wash your face with a washcloth and scrub well on the hairy bits, this will help with that problem.

Lip lines?
Date: 3/19/2012
I have been using Vaniqa for about a year on my upper lip with positive results with regards to hair growth. However, in the last year I have gotten several upper lip lines!! I am wondering if the alcohol in Vaniqa could be dehydrating my upper lip, thereby contributing to lines?

AskDocWeb: The product data sheet for Vaniqa does say that it contains cetostearyl alcohol and stearyl alcohol which may cause local skin reactions (e.g. contact dermatitis). Whether or not that might cause lip lines is unknown although you are the first to mention the possibility in the 8 years that we have been tracking feedback on this product.

The No-NO
Date: 3/20/2012
I tried everything out there, that there is to try I bought the Finish Line epil, the depilator machine, and the , over 350.00 per machine then i tried vaniqua. NOTHING. I stuck with it for 6 months , twice daily. No ill effects but it did absolutely nothing ! My friend handed me a small pack one day and it changed my life!! LITERALLY! The No-NO. If any of you are still not getting results from Vaniqua dont despair. This saved my life! Wish id found it years ago

Periodic Alopecia Areata
Date: 3/22/2012
Hi, I already have Alopecia Areata, I get bald spots on my head sometimes it stops for a year or two and then it comes back again. I have been dealing with condition for about six years already, will Vaniqa make it worse?

AskDocWeb: That is something that is still under research since it was suggested by a post from Lori. Others have reported an increase in hair loss on the scalp while using Vaniqa but so far it appears to be a very small percentage of users.

Vaniqa did something horrible to my scalp
Date: 3/24/2012
I started using Vaniqa May 2011, I discontinued Vaniqa last July 2011 after having burning and a bright red scalp. My hair on my head was thinning as well. It wasn’t falling out more than normail it just wasn’t growing in where those normal 50 to 100 hairs fall in a day. I still to this day have cold and bizarre sensations on my scalp.

I have seen Demotolgists, liquid steriods nothing stops the sensations and my hair has not grown back to my pre-vaniqa fullness. I have had thick thick hair on my head all of my life and this medication did something horrible to my scalp. I would like to know how many others have the same issue, where their hair on their head has not gotten back to normal. How long should this take?

AskDocWeb: We have seen statistics that rang from 1.5% to 2.5% of patients using Vaniqa who report hair loss from the scalp. In the clinical trials, for those who discontinued use, hair growth returned to pretreatment levels after 8 weeks.

Losing eyelashes
Date: 4/16/2012
Used Vaniqa for 4 1/2 months and was very happy with the results. Then my eyelashes started falling out. I think they had started thinning out before this time, but I didn’t notice until I started losing several per day and had spots with no lashes at all. Stopped using Vaniqa and after 2 months, I can see that my lashes are filling in again. I think the hair on my head was thinning out also, but now has stopped. I am trying to decide if I should try using Vaniqa once a day instead of twice, and only on areas where my facial hair is very dark, to see if I can get adequate results without losing my eyelashes.

Scalp hair loss
Date: 4/23/2012
I started using Vaniqa in May of 2010 and stopped using it in September of 2011. Almost a year and a half. My facial hair was decreasing which made me keep using it but then out of no where my hair started falling out in an unusual increased amount! I immediately stopped using Vaniqa after weeks of research and finally concluding it was this prescription. Here is the really horrible news… its been almost 8 months and I am STILL LOSING HAIR in unprecedented amounts.

I have always had beautiful thick healthy blonde hair but I have lost over 40% of my hair and it feels very brittle. I’ve been using protein mask, hardly NEVER blow dry my hair (which i always air dried my hair anyways), I wash my hair every 3 days, taking lots of vitamin supplements like D, C, E, Biotin, Flaxseed oil, Fish oil etc. Please DO NOT take this product. I promise you, your facial hair is not worth losing your scalp hair over. If anyone knows of a group law suit over this company concerning scalp hair loss- i would be interested. God bless all of you who are seeing side affects from Vaniqa and I pray for divine healing for us all in Jesus name.

Does vaniqa have an age limit?
Date: 4/23/2012
I have never used vaniqa, but I suffer from facial hair. I have hair on my chin, upper lip… let’s just say my whole face… It’s so embarrassing. I am only 17 years old. Does vaniqa have an age limit?

AskDocWeb: It looks like you are in luck. The product data sheet for this medicine says that it is not for use in children under 12 years of age.

Extreme case
Date: 4/29/2012
I have been shaving my chin for 20+years. I have extreme course black hair from this. Does Vaniqua help with such an extreme case? Do I have to shave before every use?

AskDocWeb: When used on areas of the skin where hair is present, Vaniqa has been proven to inhibit the growth of that hair. As it does that the hair typically becomes finer and over time may stop growing altogether. Shaving is not required but the directions do say to continue using whatever hair removal technique you currently use. Vaniqa report 8 9 10 11Page 12 13 14 15Last Page 17
