Subj: LOVE IT!
Date: 3/6/2007
Although Xencial isn’t for everyone, I am certainly glad that I am taking it. I think, from reading alot of the posts, that people want a quick fix and are irritated by the side effects, which do become less as you begin to eat more healthy. This pill is not a magic lamp, its not a quick fix, you don’t take it and then poof…wake up thin, the pill is a boost…a support, to help you become more conscience, more aware about what you eat and how much you consume. Take the pill how it’s intended, with each LOW FAT HEALTHY NORMAL PORTIONED meal and a full glass of water. The pill claims to remove up to 30% of the fat from each meal, not to make you a size 8 overnight. You still need to make right choices, and this pill helps, I believe with that mindset. I love it, it has helped me, no serious side effects thus far, perhaps I am the lucky one? Or maybe I just realize that I am the one that got me to this weight and I need to be the one to take it off…THANK YOU XENICAL FOR HELPING MY CAUSE AND GIVING ME THE BOOST I NEED!

LOVE IT!

Subj: Put on more weight
Date: 3/8/2007
I have taken xenical and it has made me loose weight faster than anything else has. I took it 3 months prior to getting married and looked great on the day. I am only a size 10 normally (after weight loss) but now since stopping taken it I have put on more weight, I’m bigger now than I’ve ever been. Is this supposed to happen?

Darlene

AskDocWeb: Sorry but it often happens when you don’t make the necessary life-style changes including an increased activity level.

Subj: I have a question
Date: 3/14/2007
I took xenical 6 years ago I loved it I lost alot of weight I felt wonderful but I had a kidney stone but I still took it. Now I want to take xenical again. My doctor told me I shouldn’t. Why is that a problem? That’s what I want to know. Thank you,

tcooper

AskDocWeb: Drugs are assumed to be unsafe until proven otherwise. Since no studies have been conducted with people having kidney problems, there is no way to know what would happen. You should take the advice of your physician.

Subj: Favorable result
Date: 3/14/2007
I’ve been using Xenical for a couple of months and noticed a favorable result. I stopped just last month because my Mom feared that taking this kind of drug might damage my kidneys and etc. Is Xenical safe for long-time use? Like a year or two?

Jane

AskDocWeb: Weight loss has been observed to continue for 6 to 12 months with this drug.

Subj: Liver problems?
Date: 3/15/2007
I am concerned about “Liver” problems, occurring when Xenicol is used. How does the body filter it, and what other organs are effected? Please advise,

Anne

AskDocWeb: The drug Xenical is metabolized mainly within the wall of the intestines and causes no problems in the liver. As to the herbal product, Xenicol (assuming you didn’t misspell Xenical), that is a different story. We know it comes from India and its major ingredient is mulberry extract but that’s about all. This page is for the discussion of Xenical and its side effects.

Subj: Are these Xenical side effects?
Date: 3/19/2007
I have been using Xenical for the last 20 days. Things went fine and I lost 2 kilos so far, but now…I missed my period (its like 15 days late now). Also, I think I have vaginal inflammation and urinary tract infection. Is this normal? I also have upper right abdomen pain. Has anyone experienced this? Should I stop taking the medication?

Safa

AskDocWeb: Almost ten percent (9.8%) of women on Xenical have some kind of menstrual irregularity and 3.8% get vaginitis. We suggest you report this to your physician and maybe have a pelvic exam and tests done to determine the cause the vaginal inflammation. Your doctor can then decide if you should discontinue the Xenical.

Subj: Heart palpitations?
Date: 3/19/2007
I was curious if anyone has asked about heart palpitations with this medication? I have been on it for about three weeks. There was another web site that had said she believed blood clots was caused from her taking xenical. Have you heard any other complaints about this?

Amber

AskDocWeb: The answer is no to both side effects. Neither are reported as a side effect attributed to xenical.

Subj: Only lost 2 pounds
Date: 3/23/2007
I have been taking xenical for 2 weeks and only lost about 2 lbs. does it not work for some people?

Liz

AskDocWeb: Yes, for some it may not work, it depends on your diet.

Subj: Generic brand
Date: 3/25/2007
I started using Xenical about one month ago. My weight loss is slow because I haven’t been watching what I eat, as at first I didn’t see any changes. I lost 5 pounds and now I’m very aware about my fat intake…Question my insurance does not cover Xenical…would anyone know of a generic brand cheaper? Thanks,

Alba

AskDocWeb: The best way to find out about cost in your area is to ask your pharmacist.

Subj: Not loosing weight
Date: 3/26/2007
I have been taking xenical for more than a year and I eat well. My appetite hasn’t changed and I’m not loosing weight. I’m not that fat but my normal weight should be 55kg and I’m 65kg…is it ok if I keep on taking it or what should I do? As for side effects I’m not sure if it’s the one causing me sleepless nights and serious headaches and I rarely go to the loo… please advice,

Jaime

AskDocWeb: It sounds like you should get a physical and consult with your doctor about which drug you might need to help get your weight under control. You may just need to add more physical activity.

Subj: Phyto shape
Date: 3/28/2007
I would like to know if phyto shape is safe for women (who) had a breast cancer and had a mastectomy?

Magued

AskDocWeb: No, according to chemical analysis by the National Health Authority (NHA) Phyto Shape contains a chemical called sibutramine which is dangerous to your health.

Sibutramine has grave side effects. It can cause increased blood pressure, allergic reactions which could lead to breathing difficulties, closure of the throat, and a swollen tongue. It can also lead to easy bleeding, shortness of breath, irregular heartbeats, severe headaches, blurred vision and seizures.

Phyto Shape was banned on the UAE market after the country’s Ministry of Health declared it was not a herbal supplement as claimed.

Subj: No side effects
Date: 3/28/2007
I have been on Xenical for 6 days. No side effects except mild constipation (which is unusual for me) and no weight loss. Am I missing something? Do I need more water? I thought this medication would produce the direct opposite effects. Do I still take if my meal has less than 30% fat? Thanks!

Mags

AskDocWeb: You do need to drink a lot of water, and you do still take it daily no matter how many calories you eat, be patience.

Subj: Long term malabsorption
Date: 4/1/2007
Hi, I was just wondering, if Xenical has any long-term side effects. I had taken Xenical for approximately 2 months, this was 5 years ago. I might have taken it longer, don’t remember. But I do remember, that while taking Xenical, I was hospitalized, my liver count was off and my blood count was off. I was tested for a variety of different illnesses, the only thing that came up was chronic fatigue syndrome. But, every since that hospitalization, I have continually lost weight, my hair has dried out, my skin has aged, I would say at least 30 years, in 5 years, I’ve lost all muscle tone, all elasticity in my skin, and for the last 18 months, I have lost about half of my hair, the hair that I do have, is very dry and coarse. I’ve been told it is stress, due to thyroid, I do take thyroid medication. During this time, I have lost 60 lbs. If you can help me in this matter if would be greatly appreciated. Don’t know what else to do. I was wondering, if maybe, somehow, I could have gotten long term malabsortion, from taking this drug. And, if so, what can be done. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Teresa

AskDocWeb: Xenical is contraindicated for patients with chronic malabsorption syndrome but there is nothing to indicate that it would cause such a problem.

Subj: Xenical and the contraceptive pill
Date: 4/11/2007
Can xenical affect the contraceptive pill?

Claire

AskDocWeb: It shouldn’t, but it can affect your periods.

Subj: Xinical and xenadrine
Date: 4/17/2007
Hi, I bought xinical 2 days a ago and I started with a big stake without bread only with mayo and cheese and after 10 hours I felt stomach pain and I had an oily stool. Does USA xinical differs from the one in Egypt? Dose it have side effects when I use it with xenadrine, even if I took it after 8 hours? Maria

Maria

AskDocWeb: Sorry Maria, we are not familiar with the drugs used in Egypt. It sounds like you started with the wrong foods to begin with, read do’s and don’ts before you go any further. That’s probably why you suffered with the oily stool. If Xenadrine is a weight loss medication too, don’t take the two together.

Subj: Experience with Xenical
Date: 4/17/2007
Hello, I comment about my experience with Xenical. I stopped taking it after 2 months due to the side effects. Leg pain and experience a cold flushing feeling in my legs and fluid retention.

Lissett

Subj: Tension headaches
Date: 4/20/2007
After taking Xenical for approx. 2 1/2 months, Lately… I’ve been having tension headaches for about 1 1/2 weeks straight…is this due to the medication? Or could it just be stress.

Xenical user

AskDocWeb: It could be either, both or something else. A headache that lasts longer than three days should be checked out by your doctor. Read more feedback about Xenical. Xenical report 6 7 8 9Page 10 11 12 13 14Last Page 28
