Subj: Constipation
Date: 5/3/2005
I have been taking xenical about 3 weeks, lost 8 lbs and inches the first 2wks, on a low calorie and low fat diet, and for the past week have been constipated, bloated and etc. don’t think I have lost anymore, I have read and read everything I can find on Xenical and have not found any articles on constipation being a side effect, I have always had trouble with constipation, I thought maybe Xenical would correct this along with the weight loss, what am I doing wrong?

Dee

AskDocWeb: Not sure how you got the idea that Xenical would help with your constipation. We have not heard anything like that. You might seek the advice of a GI specialist to learn how to deal with this long-term.

Subj: Muscle pains
Date: 5/9/2005
Usual side effect plus muscle pains, mostly in the legs. But it does work.

Michael

AskDocWeb: Be sure to let your doctor know about these side effects.

Subj: Question about fat
Date: 5/12/2004
Hi, I just started taking xenical yesterday, and the only thing I know about it is that it stops fat from being absorbed by your body. My question to you is, does xenical take off the fat that you already had before starting the meds? If yes, how does it work to remove the “old” fat? Thanx,

Victoria

AskDocWeb: Xenical does nothing about the fat that is already on your body. It works by blocking the fat you eat from being absorbed by your body.

Subj: Kidney pain
Date: 5/13/2005

Having kidney pain. Sore back and joints.

Greg

AskDocWeb: Please get checked by your physician to find out what is going on.

Subj: Authenticity
Date: 5/16/2005

How can I know if what I bought is an imitation. I placed my order (online). They guaranteed authenticity. I am still waiting for my package, but am not sure how to check authenticity. Thx

Joe

AskDocWeb: You can take them to your pharmacist and ask them.

Subj: Xenical
Date: 5/17/2004
I have been taking xenical for 2 days and already my sleep is disrupted, I’m going to persevere with it though, the weight has to come off so I can live my life how I want to. I’ve had some of the bowel side effects which are less than pleasant, that burger I had last night will be the last one for a while! It’s good to read about people who’ve had success with the medication though, I’m inspired!

Subj: Very pleased with results
Date: 5/24/2005
I have been using xenical for a month now and I have gone from 17 stone 8lbs to 16 stones 9 lbs. I have been taking a 20/30 min bike ride a day and I feel so much better. The only real side effect I have had have been a few days of tummy cramps but they went as soon as I started to eat healthy again. I have found my stools are a little loose but absolutely nothing to moan about. I am so pleased my doctor recommended this drug for me. I think it is going to change my whole lifestyle. It is truly working for me.

Subj: Interested in Xenical
Date: 5/31/2005
I have become very interested in Xenical seeing that, unfortunately, I am 308+ lbs and at only 5’2″. I am very well aware that exercise and diet go hand in hand, but I am at the point where I don’t want to get up and go, or just lack the energy to do so after putting in 9 or 10 hour days. Even losing 75 lbs. could help me in this endeavor. My goal is to lose 150 lbs. (which would put me at a BMI of 29 but far more desirable than 57), although ideally I’d love to be at 130. I’m 27 and I KNOW I need to lose this and once I have some of the weight off, I know I would be very active again (my husband is fairly active, but doesn’t do things because he knows I can’t keep up). I once was very active, playing soccer and volleyball, and even hiking and biking on our state trails. But when I moved many times in my teen years, I turned to food for comfort. I have long since gotten past that hard time, so now I just need to shed the pounds. I think that Xenical could help me achieve my goal even if I only use it as a stepping stone towards the big goal. Any suggestions or comments about the product would help me greatly. I don’t have insurance right now as I am currently changing jobs, so seeing a doctor will have to wait a few months.

Beth

AskDocWeb: If money is a problem then focus on nutrition. Learn to eat balanced, nutritious meals first and then improve your regular exercise. The best plan would be to begin with a consultation with your doctor and follow his recommendations.

Subj: Short-term use of Xenical
Date: 6/8/2005
I just started the drug 4 days ago and experienced no side effects for the first 3 days, I started to wonder if it was even “working”! Last night I had dinner with a significantly high fat content and now KNOW the drug is working! Although the effects were not that bad (oily stool, no gas thankfully), I will definitely be more conscience of what I am eating. My plan is to try it for a month only as I hope to lose 10lbs in order to be in a more healthy BMI range. Has anyone else only tried it short-term?

Subj: Xenical and gallbladder
Date: 6/9/2005
I will start taking xenical, I have had my gallbladder removed several years ago, is that a problem.

Sharma

AskDocWeb: No, it shouldn’t be but tell your doctor to be on the safe side.

Subj: Oily red discharge
Date: 6/12/2005
I know it can cause some orange color, but what about fecal oil discharge which is red. About 4 in the last 2 bowl movements over first five days. Thank you

Becky

AskDocWeb: Sounds like you have an irritated colon, better talk to your doctor about this.

Subj: No side effect with Xenical?
Date: 7/11/2005
I used xenical for six weeks, I think I lost maybe 2 – 3 kilo in that time. However the oddest thing was I had no side effects whatsoever even if I had a fatty meal…nothing. I ask the pharmacy and they are dumbfounded and can’t explain it to me…have you heard of this?

Nell

AskDocWeb: Most people do have a symptom with eating a fatty meal. We are perplexed too.

Subj: Just started Xenical
Date: 7/13/2005
I just started taking Xenical yesterday and I have no side effect what so ever. I know it has been just 2 days now but from what I have heard is that a certain percentage of fat is suppose to pass through you and I have not experienced anything yet. If it does not how do you loose weight with it?

Missy

AskDocWeb: It will work. Give it 7 to 10 days to see some results.

Subj: Xenical and breast cancer
Date: 7/19/2005
I was wondering I took xenical for 18 months and ended up developing breast cancer. Do you think it has anything to do with the Xenical. I had no lumps or sings of lumps at my physical right before I started xenical.

Christine

AskDocWeb: No, we don’t have any information that would suggest a connection between the two.

Subj: Great results but got a rash
Date: 7/21/2005
DocWeb, I have been using Xenical for almost a year now. I have had great result with walking and using Xenical. Now I have a bad rash that’s lead from my hip area to my upper thigh. It first looks like blood clog, but then after a week it turns into a rash. Is this from this Xenical. It itches badly. I have stop using it and the rash stop spreading. I like using Xenical, but is this one of the bad side effect. My whole entire hip area and thigh is looking kind of bad. What can I use for this bad rash.

Hazel

AskDocWeb: See your physician on this rash. It could be any one of several types.

Subj: Internet purchase of Xenical?
Date: 7/26/2005
Do you recommend any one off of the internet to buy Xenical?

Mike

AskDocWeb: While you can still buy Xenical online, we no longer provide links to those places. We used to make recommendations but not any more. The online pharmacy issue has become far too complicated as large drug companies and pharmacies try to put competitors out of business. At one point we were threatened with a lawsuit just for providing a link to an online pharmacy. It is just not worth the hassle.

Subj: Just started on Xenical
Date: 7/28/2005
Just started on Xenical on Monday, July 24th. Started at 375 pounds and BMI of 54. Will keep you updated. I’ve really been watching my intake of fat; pretty proud of myself so far on the diet. No bad side effects yet. One day at a time…

Darren

AskDocWeb: Congratulations for taking such a big step. Go for the gold!

Subj: Bad rash with Xenical
Date: 8/8/2005
I have been used xenical for the past nine months and have lost 2 stone but all the time I have taken it I have had a bad rash which is very troublesome at night. It is getting so bad at the moment that I have decided to stop taking the xenical. The rash has started to get better when I took a tablet after my meal last night to try again the rash has come back as bad as ever do you know if this is a side effect many people have experienced

Cheryl

AskDocWeb: It sounds like you are having an allergic reaction to xenical, you had better talk to your doctor about discontinuing use.

Subj: Xenical and oily stools
Date: 8/19/2005
I have used Xenical and have also been detoxing recently as part of my new attitude to health and positive eating. As part of the detox, I went for a colonic which produced no results whatsoever- the hydrotherapist said that this was extremely rare and she had never experienced this before. Could the oily stools/ diarrhea that I had when I started the Xenical have had an effect on the efficacy of the colonic? Will my colon wall be left oily so that I cannot cleanse using standard colonics?

Lo

AskDocWeb: It may surprise you to find out that what you’re thinking of as oil, may be in fact be the fat from the foods you are eating. The xenical causes this fat to pass through your system, undigested making its own cleansing action.

Subj: Xenical diet pill
Date: 9/9/2005
I’ve been using Xenical for 8 months now and lost 10 lbs., my weight still fluctuates as I do eat out sometimes and gain a couple of lbs back afterwards. The side-effects of diarrhoea sometimes do bother me especially when I am out and have to rush to the bathroom. Another thing is I have joint pains in the last 2 months and is getting worse. My GP referred me to a rheumatologist to check it out. I don’t know if it’s Xenical that caused these joint pain or just co-incidence?

Hilda

AskDocWeb: Others have reported join pain with Xenical. If you discontinue use of the xenical and the joint pain stops within a week then you would know. Read more feedback about Xenical. Xenical report23Page 456 7 8 9 10Last Page 28
